Tucked away on the edge of the peaceful village of Gilsland, this stone-built barn conversion is perfect for couples looking to unwind and reconnect with nature. Surrounded by sweeping countryside and rolling hills, thereâs direct access to scenic footpaths and cycling trails for exploring the stunning borderlands of Cumbria and Northumberland. The property sits where the ancient trees of Kielder Forest meet open countryside, placing you right on the edge of one of Europeâs largest Dark Sky Parks for stargazing nights. By day, follow the historic route of Hadrianâs Wall, which passes right through Gilsland, 2 miles away. For a change of pace, head to the nearby market towns of Brampton (10.5 miles) or Haltwhistle (7.5 miles) â the very centre of Britain. Both towns boast tempting cafes and independent shops, plus access to more rural trails through fields, woodlands and moorlands. For a day by the sea you can head to Whitley Bay or Blyth Beach, both within 57 miles.
