A cosy retreat, ideal for walks and quiet relaxation. Pet friendly!
Tucked away above the village of Tindale and with open views, this is the perfect place to get away and relax. Hadrian's Wall, Carlisle and North Lakes plus market towns and great pubs to enjoy nearby. Love peace and tranquility? then this is the place for you. On the edge of a RSPB reserve, in the North Pennine AONB there are lots of great walks, and wildlife watching right from the doorstep. At night, the stars are bright and beautiful.
Lovely cozy home, nestled in some beautiful countryside. The home had everything you needed. Ideal location for a quiet getaway or for exploring the north.
A very relaxed stay in beautiful countryside, lots of very good dog walks
Peaceful and tranquil garden
Put full address on the sat nav last 200 yards on an image road but worth it when you get there
Great little cottage, definitely remote (but easy to find) and with a lovely wild little garden, albeit it shared with the next door cottage, so care is needed when letting dogs (and children)! in and out. Was very well appointed
although we had a couple of little niggles, being a loose toilet roll holder downstairs and we found it very dusty and would definitely benefit from a top to toe bottoming with a damp cloth, surfaces, inside cupboards etc. Finally we weren't overlly keen on the lack of window blinds or curtains in either upstairs bathroom or downstairs toilet. If these things were addressed it would be perfect.. and we were very grateful for the owner accepting us at very short notice and her communication if we needed anything.
Unfortunately we were unable to stay at this property due to unforeseen circumstances however the owner was responsive and understanding. We hope to come back and stay in the future.
I moved North over 25 years ago, and fell in love with the North Pennines - some areas around here are rightly called 'England's Last Wilderness'.I enjoy walking and gardening
There is a very small community up at Tindale, and the Terrace only has 10 houses. This means that we all know each other and we are all freindly! I love looking out over the garden to the fell on the other side of the valley.
Pertect combinantion of being out in the countryside but with the City of Carlisle less than 20 miles away. Surrounded by history including nearby Hadrian's Wall and Epiacum Roman Fort near Alston, railway tracks which Stephenson's Rocket ran on, mining and smelting, plus a wealth of natural history including orchids and red squirells. The house has been recently renovated to enable modern living in a traditional mine worker terrace house. Samples of old wallpaper found behind cupboards showed a love of flowers, so the decoration includes floral wallpapers and traditional furniture
