Walk through the vestibule into the tranquil lounge which is filled with earthy tones, and wooden furnishings and sink into the sofa or an armchair beside the large bay window. Continue into the airy kitchen/diner which is kept bright from natural light pouring in through the skylights and glass patio doors. In the centre of the room is the double-sided fireplace. To one side a long wooden dining table and a sofa. Opposite is a farmhouse-style kitchen with wooden worktops and a kitchen island boasting a breakfast bar. Also on the ground floor is a utility room, a separate WC and a bathroom. Upstairs is another bathroom and three bedrooms – two king-sized, one with distant sea views, and a single bedroom. Outside is an enclosed garden with a patio and furniture.

During your stay in a quiet corner of Whitby, you’ll be around 500 metres from the dog-friendly sandy beach. Wander into the centre of the town to find an array of seafood restaurants, cosy cafes and quirky shops (within 1 mile). Explore the local historical landmarks – such as the Whalebone Arch, the 199 Steps and Whitby Abbey (all within 1.5 miles). Further afield is the secluded Kettleness Beach (5.5 miles), Mulgrave Castle (4 miles) and the Little Beck Wood Nature Reserve (5.5 miles).
