à propos de cet hébergement
Cosy Fisherman's Cottage, Seconds from Waterfront
Summary:
This charming fishermanâs cottage in the heart of St Ivesâ old town sits just one street back from the harbour. A little removed from the hustle & bustle, yet still seconds from the waterfront. The open-plan kitchen, dining and living area is cosy and well-equipped. On the first floor, find a twin room and wetroom with shower. The top floor master bedroom enjoys elevated views over the harbour, sea and rooftops. A coastal retreat full of character, close to beaches, shops, and restaurants.
The Space:
This charming 2-bedroom fishermanâs cottage is set in the heart of St Ivesâ historic old town, known as Downalong. Tucked just one street back from the bustling harbour front, it offers the perfect balance - close to the waterfront, shops, restaurants, and beaches, yet in a slightly quieter position.
Step inside to the open-plan kitchen, dining and living area, decorated in calming coastal blues and whites with ample woodwork, giving the home a warm and relaxed feel. The space is thoughtfully equipped with all the kitchen essentials. After long days out exploring St Ives, snuggle up to movie nights on the smart TV.
Head up to the top floor to discover the master bedroom. Elevated above the rooftops, this light-filled room is flanked by large double windows framing stunning views across the harbour, sea and beyond. Wake up to the sounds of the waves, or unwind in bed and enjoy the wall-mounted smart TV.
On the first floor, youâll find a twin bedroom, ideal for friends or family, along with a pebble-floored wetroom featuring a shower. A small corner desk also makes this floor practical for catching up on work or writing postcards home.
Perfectly positioned and full of charm, this cottage is a wonderful retreat for couples, friends or small families looking to immerse themselves in the magic of St Ives.
Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the cottage.
The Neighborhood:
This fisherman's cottage in St Ives offers the perfect base for exploring one of Cornwallâs most picturesque and lively seaside towns. Famous for its golden beaches, turquoise waters, and artistic heritage, St Ives has something for everyone.
Just minutes from your door, you can enjoy Porthmeor Beach, a Blue Flag favourite for surfers and sunbathers, or stroll to Porthminster Beach, ideal for swimming and family days out. Wander the narrow cobbled streets lined with galleries, boutiques, and cafĂ©s, soaking in the townâs charming character.
Art lovers will be drawn to the world-renowned Tate St Ives, showcasing modern and contemporary works inspired by the Cornish landscape, as well as the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, where you can explore the artistâs former home and studios. The lively harbour is perfect for grabbing fresh seafood, taking a boat trip to spot seals and dolphins, or simply watching the fishing boats come and go.
For walkers, the South West Coast Path offers spectacular hikes with dramatic sea views, while nearby Carbis Bay and Godrevy provide more stunning beaches. In the evenings, enjoy a wide choice of restaurants and pubs, from casual fish and chips to fine dining with a sea view.
Getting Around:
The cottage's central location means you can explore much of St Ives and the local area on foot or by train. All of the town's best amenities and attractions surround you. The train station is a 15 minute walk or 5 minute drive and the line runs all the way from London Paddington with only one change. You can also catch the train to Carbis Bay, which is a great ride that goes around the edge of the cliff, as well as further afield. There is also a good number of buses servicing the local area.
For those who do drive, there are numerous paid car parks in St Ives. The Sloop Car Park is seconds from the property, but is rather small so you may struggle to get a spot - especially during peak season. The Island Car Park and Barnoon Long Stay Car Park are both around 5 minutes walk and much larger.
Other Things to Note:
Sea Air is a historic cottage full of character. This also means that it wasn't built to modern building proportions. The property is split over three levels, with the master bedroom located on the top floor and accessed by a quite steep, narrow staircase. It therefore may not be suitable for those with mobility limitations.
The cottage is centrally located and, whilst not as busy as the harbour front itself, there is still potential for noise.
Interaction with Guests:
We will be available via message, email and phone during your stay. Any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch!
