Nestled by the coast road, the cottage retains many original features giving it a warm and welcoming feel from the moment you step through the door. Thoughtfully updated to provide all the comforts of modern living, the space is both stylish and cosy. Downstairs the comfortable living room is the perfect place to unwind with a Smart TV, perfect for relaxing with a good book. The well-equipped kitchen includes everything you’ll need for your stay, from a double oven and hob, fridge, microwave and washing machine. The master bedroom features a comfortable double bed, while the second bedroom offers two singles, both rooms are light, airy, and tastefully decorated. The original 10 cottage stairs can be difficult for those with mobility issues.

Step outside to find a private terrace and lovely garden, a suntrap in the summer and an ideal spot for enjoying your morning coffee or an alfresco glass of wine.

Located just a short stroll from the fresh seafood restaurants, pubs, and the island’s beach, the cottage makes a perfect base for exploring Mersea’s unique charm. Don’t miss the local oysters, best enjoyed at the renowned Company Shed, just minutes away.

The Mersea Regatta is held every August and is a fun-packed weekend and there is also a food and drink festival. Whether you’re crabbing on the causeway, birdwatching on the salt marshes, or simply soaking in the tranquil coastal atmosphere, this delightful cottage provides a comfortable and memorable stay in one of Essex’s hidden gems. Please note that the Strood onto the island gets cut off at high tide so check the tide timetable!
