Located on the edge of the Parco Benestare, an area of outstanding natural beauty in the communes of Gambassi Terme and Montaione and just 20 minutes drive from the UNESCO World Heritage town of San Gimignano, Podere Torricchi is a tastefully restored ancient farm set on top of a hill overlooking the rolling Tuscan countryside. The apartment is on the ground floor and is one of 12 on this former farm set in beautiful countryside. With a large private garden and terrace facing west, the property also benefits from communal gardens and a large swimming pool approx 17m x 8m x 1.5m (unheated). The pool is open from 1st May to 30 September and is surrounded by a paved and grassed area with covered gazebo. Sunloungers are provided at the pool. The house has two spacious bedrooms, one has a king size bed the other two singles. Both bedroom have new quiet air conditioning units installed which heat and cool. There are two bathrooms with shower, washbasin and toilet, one is en suite to the double bedroom. There is a washing machine in the main bathroom. The kitchen/dining/lounge area has a table that seats 4, and settees. The kitchen is very well equipped with full sized electric oven, 4 ring gas hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher, kettle, coffee maker and toaster. On the terrace immediately accessed from the kitchen is a dining table with 4 chairs and a separate table with two additional chairs in the garden. The property has free high speed wifi. The property is accessed along a 2.5 km private gravelled road, there is ample private secure parking on site. The road is maintained annually in spring but in winter and early spring there are some potholes. The views from the house are simply stunning - to the west the views extend for over 30 miles with the Apuan mountains visible on clear days. The ancient hilltop town of Volterra can be seen from Podere Torricchi. Only 20 minutes drive, this beautiful town has been the setting for numerous movies including 'Twilight' and more recently 'Medici 2'. Florence, Siena and Pisa are approximately one hour drive, there is also easy access to Florence by rail from nearby Castelfiorentino. The nearest restaurants are approximately 10 mins drive (not walkable) and supermarkets 20 minutes.
