My family and I had the absolute best time at this property. The kids and dogs had a blast running and playing in the huge beautiful backyard. The neighbor, Lafell, was super sweet and helpful. The house was exactly as pictured in the TV show. The location was super convenient to everything in Waco and could not have asked for a better host. Will definitely be returning with our family!
It was very cool to get to stay in a Fixer Upper house! The property manager was quick to respond and very clear with expectations for check in and out. The house though, was very dusty and buggy (though maybe thatâs the norm for summers in Texas?).
The Little House was a great experience and a fun place to stay after having seen the renovation on Fixer Upper. Kristi is easy to deal with and a great caretaker of the property.
This beautiful and cozy home was the perfect place for us to stay while in town visiting Baylor. Beds and furnishings were incredibly omfortable, entertaining space so charming! We loved it and thank you for your warm Texas hospitality providing information for local grocery stores for necessities also. Would love to stay here again!
We stayed here with another couple for Baylor's homecoming weekend. It was so close to Baylor, Nimfas and the Silos. A lovely and very cozy place. We all thought the beds were extremely comfortable and the layout still felt spacious at maximum capacity.
My daughters and I had so much fun staying at a place flipped by the Gainesâs. Gave us a real feel for what the couple has done for housing and design in Waco. Plenty of room for fun and relaxation. Very glad to have a good AC on the super hot days. Nice back deck. Itâs an easy trip to the Siloâs etc.
We enjoy the house however we feel there is room for improvement. You are need to get an exterminator to take care of the wasp problem at the front and back of the house. The house should have been dusted before guess arrive. The drains need to be cleaned in bathroom.
The laundry room needs to be cleanr
We loved staying in the Little House on the Prarie. The interior of the house is so cozy and peaceful. Itâs decorated beautifully to compliment chip and Jos work! The neighbor was extremely kind, as were the hosts. We lost power for a few hours(storms) but we had a fun night of apples to apples(provided by Kristi) in the candlelight. I will remember this trip with joy :)
We absolutely loved staying in this home. We especially enjoyed browsing through all the Magnolia magazines and we started reading the book The Magnolia Story that was on the shelf. We were not able to finish reading the book so on our drive home we listened to the audio book and we were blessed. Thank you for providing all the basic necessities for our stay and we will definitely be renting this place in the future. It was a peaceful and blessed time. Cozy house!
There is something wrong with the thermostat. Kept turning it down to 72 and during the day and night I would go up by itself. Woke up in the middle of the night hot. Got up at 2:00 am and it was 77. I'm a 53 yr old woman and I just cannot do hot during the night and I'm sure other people staying there would agree.
Was looking forward to relaxing on what appeared to be a huge deck in the pictures, but was much smaller. But more disappointed that the furniture was so dirty we wouldn't sit on it. Really need to replace the shredded rug too. Same with furniture on front porch. I realize it was an older home, but the closets were so musky we hung our clothes in the living room. One of the drain plugs in the sink would not open, so we had to take turns using just one. Felt very uncomfortable, women alone, with no coverings for windows in kitchen. Did not feel the locks on the doors provided adequate safety. Outside bedroom doors were unlocked when we arrived.
I have never left a review like this. But spending that much money and being that disappointed was a bit much.
The house is in a less than desirable neighborhood and was noisy with vehicles coming and going all hours of night and day with loud engines and music.
There are windows in the house that do not have coverings leaving the house somewhat exposed at night with the neighbors being within relatively close proximity. Because we were all women traveling together it left us feeling uneasy at night.
The front door and porch is barely visible due to overgrown shrubs. Yard is unkept and most of the outdoor furniture needs cleaning and or refurbished .
Upon arriving there was a cigarette and empty beer can left on the bedroom dresser. Soap residue in the one and only tub. Toothpaste smeared on the front door of the bathroom vanity. Two hand towels and six wash cloths left to service five women for a three night stay.
The bedding and throw pillows on the bedding and sofa are looking worn and dingy.
There was an open hole in the floor of the bedroom closet directly exposing the cellar basement. That closet could not be used due to the âmustyâ odor inside. The entire house had an unusual odor. It was not at all appealing.
Honestly, it was just disappointing when compared to the listing description and pictures reflecting the property. I believe Joanna Gaines would be mortified to know that her name is being used to âpromoteâ this house considering its appearance now.
I just simply expect better from a premier host on VRBO
We recently stayed at the Little House on the Prairie property, and the experience exceeded our expectations. The accommodations were clean, well-maintained, and the host was incredibly responsive. Booking through Vrbo was seamless, making it a stress-free getaway. Highly recommend!"
Upon arrival, my husband and I were concerned because of the location of the house but we were pleasantly surprised after entering the home. Very clean and perfectly decorated! Seriously the most comfortable bed that Iâve slept in at a VRBO (and Iâm picky!). The neighborhood was so quiet that we could have easily slept all morning. The backyard is huge and thereâs a nice little seating area with a fire feature on the back deck. Very cute and charming home!
We have two children that livecin Texas one in Houston. I had a work trip to Austin. Waco seemed like a great meeting place for a quick vist with bothnkids and their spouses. Plus I had to visit the Magnolia Silos. Cute house with comfy beds. Not as close to downtown as i would have liked.
Cutest place ever and fully stocked with everything you would need for your stay. Only one bathroom which is the only complaint. We were not there much but when we were it was so comfortable and adorable.
Easy check-in, fun farmhouse style. One note is the king âmasterâ bedroom is connected to the homeâs only bathroom. So if youâre that roomâs occupant, you will hear any night time bathroom users đ - no big deal just something to know.
The property manager was great, responding with a fix and discount for an electrical issue we encountered (& were able to fix easily). We enjoyed our stay and the drive to Magnolia was simple.
I grew up with deep roots in the the Central Texas area and have called Waco home for over 25 years. Raised my three kiddos in this community & love the small-town feel that our community offers. I have enjoyed watching the transformation of Waco from a sleepy lil college town to what is now one of the most highly sought after travel destinations in the country! Such a joy & blessing to have the opportunity to share my home & my love for this community with people from across the world.
The Batson family, who were on THE Fixer Upper show, contacted me about their beloved home as they were wanting to expand their family. This quaint, sweet home would simply not accommodate their growing family. Since I had been successfully renting & been sharing THE BARNDOMINIUM (Also from HGTVs FIXXER UPPER), this home was a perfect addition to my vacation rental family!
This home is so charming and quaint! It has such a nice open floor plan that you feel very connected from every room in the house. It has the same feel that captivated viewers on the show. The back porch is ideal for cooking out & lounging out back and enjoying an evening in Waco, Fixer Upper style!
