Notre maison indépendante est sur le côté de la plage et a un nouveau toit à pignon en bois, une salle de bain complètement nouvelle et une grande cuisine.

Maison individuelle isolée de 190 m2 couverte, sur deux étages, avec terrasse, jardin et barbecue.
A 5 minutes à pied de la plage de l'île d'Armona.
Ils comprennent: serviettes de bain, draps et couvertures.
Équipé de fer à repasser, sèche-cheveux, chauffage, cheminée, ventilateur
Cuisine: Cuisine confortable et spacieuse avec de grandes fenêtres sur l'extérieur, équipée de tables pour 10 personnes, nouveau four, nouvel évier, nouvelle machine à laver, nouveau lave-vaisselle, micro-ondes, grille-pain, mixeur, réfrigérateur, cafetière, ustensiles de cuisine, cataplana électrique ...
Salles de bains: 2 salles de bains et 2 douches extérieures avec eau chaude et froide.

Lovely big family house. We found it clean and ready for us when we arrived. The house is further up the island than we had stayed before. About a 12-13 minute walk from the jetty where you arrive from the mainland. Fine for us and a shopping trolley was provided to get provisions back in the ferry which was v helpful. Lovely terraces to watch the fabulous sunset and a 2-3 minute walk from a nice restaurant and cocktail bar. Everything was provided in the house that we needed and there was a cute kids room with games and books. Only fault was the cooker tripped a few times but we found the circuit board and switched it back on.Couldn’t fault it other than that.

Lovely House close to the beach

Lovely place to stay, big enough for a family but there were just the two of us. Great location, a. short walk away from the beach at the far end of the strip of housing.

Perfect location

We stayed at the house for 6 nights. My husband and I loved the location and being able to get up and go for a swim with no one around was magical. The views from the roof terrace can not be beaten! Just stunning. Will definitely come back.

Wonderful 6 days at this lovely Armona residence!

This was a very relaxing and memorable week in the Algarve - our first visit to this amazing part of Portugal and it will be hard to top. The house had everything we needed and we settled in right away. The hosts are great. We enjoyed all the different spaces to hang out, and all the homey touches. Hope to come back some day!

Great place for our vacation

The Island Armona is very nice if you are looking for a quiet Beach. The house is very close to the Beach and has everything you need. Our toddler had much fun running around in the yard while we could relax in the shade. Communication with the owners was always friendly and very fast. We will be back.

A wonderful stay

We fell in love with Olhao last October and dreamt about staying on Armona. The house is comfortable with everything you need ( the kitchen is specially well provided for a good cook), very well located in between the Laguna, the "big" beach as my daughter called it. Maria was friendly and answered all our queries promptly. I can only recommend her house. Just a note though, if you need to work whilst there, there is no internet/wifi in the house. I wish this island remain a well kept secret, which makes it so charming!

Nice location but poor standard

We loved Armona. The house is charming however full of ants and cockroaches. The electricity kept cutting out. The standard of cleanliness was terrible. The glass shower door fell off in my hand. The host didn't leave any check in instructions and wouldn't answer the phone or messages. The number on the listing works but I got through to a very rude Spanish man who hung up on me twice after shouting at me in Spanish.

Buenos días señorita, para empezar decirle que no soy ningún grosero, si usted se equivocó de teléfono al marcar y hablo con otra persona no lo sé, a mí nadie me ha llamado por teléfono, yo tratao a todos mis inquilinos con toda el agrado y atención del mundo, de hecho la mayoría de mis inquilinos suelen ser los mismos de un año para otro, señal de que no seré tan grosero y la casa no estará tan mal como dice, referente a las hormigas y las cucarachas , quiero decirle que eso suele pasar en todas las casas de la isla, le recomiendo que si las hormigas y cucaracha no la soporta, mejor que no vuelva a la isla y menos a mi casa. Referente a la puerta de la ducha lleva toda la razón, estoy esperando que venga un técnico hace meses para que me la solucione y no hay manera, referente a la limpieza las chicas encargadas pasan mas de 4 horas limpiando la casa, como habrá visto es bastante grande aún así se lo comentaré. Si las vacaciones en mi casa no fueran las más idóneas, lo siento. que tenga un buen día.

A house with love in every corner

As my sister said several times: a house with love in every corner. There is no shortage of reasons to love this house: it has two incredible terraces, a huge kitchen/dining room, and two patios, one with a barbecue. It is also very close to Praia Atlântica. The house is very complete. You can find everything you need for shopping (bags and trolleys) or even the beach. The photos are true to what is in the house. We highlight an aspect that is impossible to see in the pictures: everything you need to cook (from baking to grilling) is there. Every detail makes you feel at home, and there are so many of them! It's a great place to return to after staying late at the beach. WiFi works flawlessly wherever you are in the house. Juan is an excellent host, always ready to help and, at the same time, very kind and calm. This house is one of the best in Armona, and we will definitely be back as soon as possible. We recommend the house and thank Juan for his friendliness and availability.

The Perfect Holiday Cottage for Armona

I stayed here with my partner and 2 young children 6yrs and 4yrs and we had the best family holiday ever. The house is big, bright and spacious with plenty of nice features. Maria & Family have decorated and furnished the house wonderfully and we were very comfortable straight away. The children loved the sand in the yard and we barbecued our evening meals everyday, enjoying a cold beer while the kids happily played. My partner worked on her sun tan on the wonderful roof terrace when she wasn't working on it at one of the fabulous beaches around the Island. The house is ideally located as well. 1 min from very good Belgian Cafe at the Atlantic Beach. 3-4min from Cafe Convivo and the Convivo grocery store which supplies some basic goods. 8 mins from the various Marina restaurants and beach. 3mins fro the Laguna, 2mins from the lake. We went to Olhao twice to get fresh fish from the amazing market to cook at home. But eating out on the Island is easy too. A3 at the Marina does the most amazing Tapas. The Island is peaceful and safe and beautiful and it was fantastic to see the whole family slow down and appreciate life's simple pleasures. Maria was always very helpful and responded quickly to any questions. The house has all the essentials and comforts you require to live happily while away. The welcome basket with wine and snacks was also a very nice touch. In a nutshell, for a small or large family this house would make an excellent holiday home. We'll back to Armona many times, and I'd be happy to spend each visit at this wonderful home. YD, Manchester UK

Amazing!

We were counting down the days until our arrival on Armona. Much excitement as my wife, and 2 children [5 and 3] were meeting up with family we hadn't seen in a good few months. We were not disappointed! The ferry ride across from Olhao was an adventure itself and the kids loved it. Luckily we were met by my parents at the port on Armona who assisted with the bags for the walk to the house. Bit of a distance in the midday sun for the kids so ended up piggy-backing but no major issues. After a few days on Armona the walking becomes second nature. The house is very well appointed with everything one could need. Was very clean and beds made up. We braaied every night with fresh fish / seafood / espatadas bought at the market in Olhao [South African for barbecue ;-)]. Did the shopping trip twice in a week to get the bulk of the fresh food - the shop close to the house has almost all the basics you need albeit at a higher price. We explored all corners of the island in our week stay - for us the Atlantic beach was the place to be. The kids did love the lagoon area / inland lake where they spent hours catching small fish, collecting hermit crabs in very safe surroundings. We popped into Antonio's on our walk back to the house most afternoons for a cold beer, and an ice cream for the kids. Didn't eat there so can't comment on the food. We did eat at Armona 4 near the ferry port on our last evening and had a great experience. Food and setting was brilliant. We were lucky enough to be in Olhao for the Seafood Festival which we thoroughly enjoyed - crabs, prawns, oysters where amazing! The only negative I can think of was the poor state of the scooters and kids bicycles - were were hoping to let the kids use them to get around the island but were in a rather bad state. Overall I'd highly recommend Maria's lovely home to anyone looking to escape from the crowds and enjoy a relaxing beach holiday away from it all. We will be back in a heart beat! Steve, I am delighted that our house would serve as a meeting point for your family. Like you, we too the Atlantic beach seems the best place to enjoy the baths and walks. I regret very much that children's bicycles and scooters were not in good condition. With continued use will be gone marring but thanks to your notice we will try to repair or replace them. Spacious, quite, secluded.

Maria’s house on Armona was wonderful both inside and out. And as the house was not on the front line of the main path literally no-one in 2 weeks passed by front or back, which made for a very quiet and relaxing and secluded holiday. The house is so well stocked you will not be short of anything, cutlery, glasses, cups, pots & pans, towels etc., more than enough of everything essential. Additionally books, cd’s, video discs and lots of games for kids and others. The children’s bedroom is particularly well done and I am sure kids will love sleeping there. Decoration throughout is obviously very personal and well above the normal standard for this type of accommodation. The roof terrace in particular was well used from a cup of tea first thing in the morning to a gin and tonic at sunset and a lot of sunbathing in between. The outside shower was really great for getting all the sand off from the beach before going inside. The house is well positioned, being close to the Atlantic beach and just a little further from the more sheltered beach opposite Culatra island. But closest of all is the central lagoon which is very tidal and at low tide can be little more than a large puddle. But when at or close to high tide is absolutely great especially for kids. If you go round to the far side furthest from the 5 or so houses then on occasion you will find you are the only people there.(although this may not be the case at weekends or peak season). The island itself is one of those places you will love or hate, nothing to do! I love it. There are five restaurants/bars they are all good but nothing exceptional and can be a bit hit and miss. The middle restaurant with the attached supermarket does very good barbecued fish at lunchtime. But our favourite was Carlos at the ferry end, a completely family operation. Any bad points? Well my wife thought the sofas were not very comfortable but I was quite happy with them. And as someone has already mentioned the two kids bikes weren’t great. An addition I think perhaps a teapot for English guests would be good, also although we did not watch TV much it would have been nice to have some instructions on how (if possible) to switch from the German satellite feed to an English one. Very highly recommended.

I thank you for your extensive commentary and the time you have devoted to writing it in such detail, explaining nuances of the house and the island that are useful for all and especially for me, so that I can go replenishing (as much as possible) the things that are missing in the house or have been damaged. As you say, the situation of the house allows it to be very quiet, and we try to have in the house a little of everything because the stores are far away. There was a teapot the last time I was there but thank you for informing me about it so I can bring a new one. La casa es muy agradable cerca de la playa en un lugar tranquilo. Tiene buenos espacios excepto un baño bastante chico. La casa está bastante bien equipada aunque los artículos de la cocina son bastante antiguos.

La maison est à 5 mn de la plage. Il y a une très belle vue de la terrasse sur la ria Formosa et une très belle vue aussi du roof top sur l'océan. Par contre, il y a beaucoup de vis à vis de tous les côtés. La partie salon a été refaite mais les meubles de cuisine ont besoin d'un rafraichissement. Il y a beaucoup de couteaux, fourchettes...mais peu d'assiettes. La petite pièce douche/WC n'est pas en bon état. Les trois derniers jours il a fait très chaud, même en laissant toutes les fenêtres ouvertes et le ventilateur, la chambre du haut était une étuve. Il manque une climatisation.

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour sur l'ïle d'Armona. Nous avons apprécié la maison qui a beaucoup de charme et qui est bien située. Points positifs : les terrasses, les jeux de plage, caddies, canoé à disposition, proximité de la plage. L'échange avec le propriétaire a été agréable et facile. Les seuls points à améliorer seraient le lave-vaisselle (vieillissant et ne lave pas toujours très bien) et la 2ème salle de bain. Nous retournerons avec plaisir dans cette maison de vacances.

Belle Location

La maison est très agréable et très grande, la chambre en haut est très chaude et avons dormi à la belle étoile( c'était agréable). elle est située près de l'océan à 20 mn à pied de l'embarcadère; location à recommander

Wonderful !

If you want to feel like Home, you must come to Maria's House on Armona ! The house has everything you should need, is beautiful and with a perfect rooftop for a drink at night. The island is lovely, hot but lovely ;) and the beach is awesome. No need to bring toys or beach games for kids, she has everything you need. Very good dicovery for us.

I agree with you Floriane, the terrace is a perfect place to rest and relax at night watching the stars and the lights of the coast. This year is going through the Iberian Peninsula a heat wave that has come to feel up on the island, which generally enjoys good weather :( but the island itself is a paradise. Casa acolhedora, bem equipada mas com alguns objetos e móveis a acusar algum desgaste pelo uso e/ou idade. A cozinha está bem equipada. A segunda casa de banho também acusa o desgaste do tempo. Bem localizada, muito perto da praia.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

This property has been acquired because, coincidences that seems to introduce life, were in the area and fell in love with the house, the area and the island.
This home allows us to enjoy romantic evenings on the upper deck and make life on the outside, it has a large veranda with tables and barbecue to enjoy a good fish or meat in the company of family or friends.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?
