We had an amazing time. The snorkeling off the dock was fantastic. Loved the canoes as well. The property had everything we needed and more. Thank you so much for a great vacation!!
Excellent place for extended family gathering. The house is spacious, well equipped, and really had no limitations in how to enjoy a beachside vacation. The manager was super-responsive to requests/questions. We had a great time there!
Our family of 8 spent an amazing week on the island. The house had plenty of space for all of us, a great pool and outdoor area. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. They had adequate kitchen supplies for cooking and the general store is just a few houses away. The only negatives were, that from the advertisement, we thought the covered dock was with this house, but it is the neighbors. We still enjoyed the dock we had. Due to the reef and sea plants, we were unable to walk out into the ocean from the beach. The sand was amazing and we enjoyed countless breathtaking views.
Coco Kai was perfect for our large family vacation. Size and layout of the house, as well as en-suite bathrooms, provided enough space and comfortable living for everyone. Karen was very helpful and responsive to needs while at the property. Our group enjoyed the quieter North Side with easy access to great restaurants and excursions out of Rum Point and the East End. Outside of a few minor items (broken kitchen cabinet door, broken pool chair, and need for more dish towels) the place was great.
Coco Kai was the perfect place to have an extended family vacation. There were 14 of us ranging from 7 to 80. There was plenty of room for all.The pre-teens loved the pool and spent hours splashing and playing. In the evenings they used the game room machines or watched movies. The location is ideal. It is close to the North Side road but you barely hear any traffic. A small grocery is nearby. We had stayed on Rum Point previously and were happy to be so close to good memories and excellent snorkeling. The beach and reef at CoCo Kai, by the way, is also excellent for snorkeling, especially for first-timers.The east end is just a short drive away with memorable dining options. The manager, Karen, responded quickly to our questions and provided fishing rods for the boys. When you drive to the George Town area you realize how much traffic and noise you are shielded from by being on the north side.
Wonderful property with a fantastic location. We loved this quieter part of Grand Cayman. Our biggest highlight was the snorkeling right out back. So much to see! Even on windier days, the water inside the break wasn't too bad. We also took a fishing/snorkeling excursion that was fun. (We found them on Fishingbooker.com, Captain Daniel.) It was lobster and conch season and we ended up with some of both along with fish. It ultimately fed us on two different nights. We enjoyed the Botanical Garden and the Cayman Parrot Sanctuary. Tukka East End and The Caboose (Frank Sound Road north of Botanical Garden) were excellent. Property is very to close to Crystal Cave and that was a good thing to do on an especially windy morning. Starfish Point is about 15 minutes away...I would recommend doing that near sunset, otherwise, there's not a lot to see other than a few starfish. We did our one big grocery trip right after we landed at Hurley's and then Chisolm's worked for the rest of the trip. We also stopped at Caybrew Brewery on our way to the airport going home - great bar with a fantastic food truck in the parking lot - it was a nice way to end our time on Grand Cayman. On a future trip, we would hit the brewery as soon as we got there to buy some beer for the week. We drank Caybrew throughout our stay.
Our family of 7 enjoyed the stay at Coca Kai. We really liked the location and cleanliness of the house. A vehicle is necessary for getting around. Thanks for the hospitality.
Nothing can beat the beautiful ocean views right outside your back door. We enjoyed this property with our 5 kids and 3 grandchildren (ages 1-3). Everyone had the option of going from the beach to the pool, to the kitchen for snacks, to the bed for naps all right there. The house is well equipped with most everything you need. We snorkeled around the north side and decided the snorkeling right out back was some of the best! This gave those antsy people something to do and what beautiful marine life right there. Go to Rum Point if you want a calm beach where the kids can access the water more easily or Starfish beach is a short drive away. There are sea turtles off the dock at Rum Point if you want to snorkel with those ... so cool! We also loved our tour with Captain Ben to Stingray City and some other great spots. The road is busy and loud if you're staying in one of the bedrooms by the street, otherwise you don't hear much at the back of the house. We stocked up on groceries at Hurley's (Foster's was a mad house) and then used the local market 4 doors down for random purchases. You can walk there on the beach. We had some strong winds but on the days that were calmer we used the kayaks which were fun. Having the dock to launch from for snorkeling was a plus. Not the best water entrance for young kids to hang out at - too much coral - but they enjoyed playing in the sand and the pool. There is an outdoor shower for rinsing off - very convenient. The house was immaculate.
We had a great stay at Coco Kai. We love this side of Grand Cayman. It is quiet. The house is perfect. Nice bedrooms, two nice family rooms, nice dining area, nice kitchen, nice pool, great beach, and great snorkeling! The owner was pleasant to work with. He set us up with where to get our groceries and an excursion to stingray city with Captain Ben. It was great quality time with our family! I would highly recommend Coco Kai. We travel a lot to VRBO properties and this definitely deserves 5 Stars across the board!
We were a group of 12 adults and there was plenty of room to spread out if we wanted to, and plenty of room to come together. We hired Rent a Chef to cook 2 buffet meals for us and there was plenty of counter space in the kitchen for the chefs/food and the dining table accommodated all 12 of us. I highly recommend Rent a Chef. The pool is smaller than it appears in the photos, but very clean, fun, and a perfect temperature. Plenty of kayaks for our group. Request the snorkel gear and life jackets from the owner the first day you're there so you can enjoy the wonderful water outside your door. Bring water shoes because the ocean there has a rocky bottom. One day we kayaked to Over the Edge Cafe, it's a long haul but worth the paddle. We hired Captain Ben for a 1/2 day catamaran trip to Sting Ray City and 2 snorkeling spots, it was amazing. My mattress was very comfortable and the sheets and towels were top notch. The tap water is just fine and with 2 refrigerators there is plenty of room to chill all of your food and drink. The house is on the quiet north side, about 40 minutes from the airport and 7-mile beach. There is a small grocery store just a 3 minute walk from the house that has everything you need, but shop at Foster's and Blackbeards near the airport for better prices. There are two arcade games in the lower level that the guys enjoyed. Plenty of chaise lounges to relax by the pool or on the beach. The long dock was great too! I give this place 2 thumbs up.
Property was very nice. Exceptionally clean upon arrival. Plenty of room for our family including 5 adults and 4 children ranging in ages from 7 to 13. The collection of games and video games was a hit with the kids. Snorkling off the private beach and dock was great. Looking forward to returning in the future.
Perfect amount of space for our larger group. The store down the street was great to have, along with the Over the Edge restaurant a short drive up the road. Was able to enjoy the pool, beach, and ocean every day. Would recommend a stay here at CoCo Kai.
We had a wonderful stay at CocoKai. The house was clean and well maintained. The AC worked well. Strong water pressure and hot water. The kitchen was well maintained and stocked. We were surprised how far (time wise) the house was from Georgetown. Overall, had an excellent stay.
Our trip was amazing, perfect weather, great house with more than enough room for 13 of us. Only negatives were the air conditioner in the lower level was not great and the kitchen lacked space for meal prep for so many people.
This was our second stay at Coco Kai, and like the first one four years ago, it was fantastic. Coco Kai was comfortable, with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms to give everyone their privacy, but also has great spaces for us to be together. The snorkeling right behind the house was wonderful, a natural habitat that is fun to explore. With our rental car, we went all over the island for additional beaches, dining, and shopping, but often found that we enjoyed just staying the whole day at Coco Kai, relaxing on the beach or in the pool, cooking in the well-stocked kitchen, and being together. Jason was a great host and we look forward to returning to Coco Kai again in the future
We had a group of 9 for our stay at Coco Kai on our annual scuba/getaway trip. We stayed 10 days and loved every minute of it. There was more than enough room for everyone and everything about the house was as advertised. The pool/beach area was our favorite hangout and was an awesome location to lounge around in the constant breeze.
The only issue we had was the upstairs water heater was not on at the start of our stay, but one quick phone call to the property manager and the issue was fixed.
We will definitely be back at Coco Kai for our next trip to Grand Cayman! Highly recommended!
