The Farmhouse at Solsgirth Home Farm is a lovely renovated farmhouse sleeping up to ten guests. There is plenty of room for families or groups to spread out indoors and out, including paths around the working farm, which features rhea, emu and llama, alongside traditional pigs, cattle and sheep. A short drive away are fantastic walks in the hills or along the coast, with Glasgow, Edinburgh & Dundee within an hour's drive.
Amazing walled garden, stone patio with wood-fired hot tub, outdoor table & chairs hidden behind the wall.

A fantastic stay!

We stayed here with a group for a hen weekend and couldn’t fault it at all. Host was excellent and couldn’t do enough to help, property was well equipped and absolutely beautiful, and location is stunning. 10/10 would recommend.

Amazing house

We had a fantastic stay at the farm house. Plenty of room for our large family group. Catering facilities and outdoor space are absolutely amazing. Staff were very friendly and the welcome hamper and short farm tour were amazing lovely little extra touches. We will definitely return to this house.

Friendly, welcoming and peaceful.

Lovely homely house in a great location, with friendly helpful owner. A green and restful setting on a working farm of which we were given an interesting tour by Jan. The wood fired hot tub was a hit, the perfect way to watch the stars come out after a day exploring the many historic sights of the area. We highly recommend Solsgirth Home Farm.

Family Gathering

We were very impressed with all aspects of our stay at Solsgirth Home Farm and really enjoyed our time there. We particularly appreciated the warmness of the welcome, the welcome pack and the manner in which the children were treated when feeding the lambs and being shown the animals.

Brilliant stay at Solsgirth Home Farm.

Our family consisting of 8 adults and 3 little people had a fabulous 3 night stay at Solsgirth home farm to celebrate a big birthday. The house just couldn’t have been better, really comfortable and spacious. The farm tours were a huge hit with children and adults alike. We also thoroughly enjoyed the BBQ and outside dining area as well as the hot tub. We also loved the ducks parading across our lawn. Loved the on site Roastery where we ended up each morning for coffee after our farm tour. Can also highly recommend Jillie McCord, celebrity chef who came in to do a fabulous 5 course dinner on the Saturday night. Such a fabulous place and fabulous location.

An excellent place for a weekend away.

We came here to get away for the weekend to celebrate my birthday as a big group. The farmhouse was lovely, it was very clean and the beds were so comfy! Jan took us on a farm tour, seeing lambing and feeding the lambs was such an experience. Stevie in the coffee shop taught us so much about coffee and kept us well caffeinated. The farm shop offered a huge selection of meats and eggs. So we are still enjoying the food even at home. We all want to come back as we enjoyed it so much! Thanks Everyone for making it an amazing stay!

Fantastic family stay

This was our second stay at the farmhouse and we all had a brilliant time again. Markets were great, kids had a great time playing in the huge garden all weekend. House had everything we needed and all the staff were lovely and very friendly. We can't wait to come back for another stay soon.

Family Christmas Reunion

Solgirth House Farm was the perfect venue for our family Christmas reunion. A beautiful warm, cosy farmhouse with a modern extension, it offers all the home comforts and space you need. Located on a working farm estate in a picturesque rural location, the farmhouse is a fantastic getaway destination. Furthermore, Jan (the host) leaves a delicious hamper full of local produce and is happy to give you a tour of the farm to see the emus, rheas, pigs, cows and goats. Great fun!

Aussie family farm stay

We had a wonderful time at Solsgirth Home Farm. We stayed in the farm house. The kids and grownups loved the farm tour and meeting all the wonderful animals. The farm is so green and picturesque. The house was a great size with lots of space. The family also loved the outdoor wood fired spa bath. I wished we lived closer so we could stay again soon.

The most fabulous family stay at Solsgirth Farmhose

We chose to stay at the Farmhouse on Solsgirth Farm for my 50th birthday with family - 6 adults and 3 children aged 10 and above. The Farmhouse far exceeded our expectations and we were blown away by the facilities available and the positive interactive welcome and continual welcoming throughout our weekend stay. The Farmhouse has a large kitchen area perfect for large groups, with beautiful views across the farm and fields. We received a high quality and thoughtful welcome basket with all we could need and more - red and white wine, hen and duck eggs, bread, milk, jam, marmalade and freshly baked shortbread - tasted beautiful. The kitchen amenities provided everything we could need, including a fancy coffee machine which was perfect for making the coffee that we bought within the Farm itself. In the local cafe area, there is a coffee which produces coffee beans, with beautiful blends available. We were really impressed with the passion and interaction we had with the coffee maker - we all got to understand the background of the different coffees and experience the smells. When we purchased a coffee bean bag, they were able to grind the beans for us there and then so we could enjoy it in the Farmhouse. We were met on arrival by the owner who had the outdoor hot tub warm and ready for us - this was a delight which we were able to enjoy after our meal on the first evening. The outdoor area and views are so pretty, immersed in nature and relaxing. The hot tub itself was bigger than I've ever seen! Our children (and us!) loved exploring the farm and visiting the animals during the day. We had a lovely time feeding the highland cows, the goats, and holding the baby chicks. The farm animals are so well looked after and a real passion of the owner, family and local workers. It really is a lovely place to visit even without staying on the property itself. As we explored around the property, we kept finding more and more amenities that made our stay so special - including fun games for the garden, games for indoor, easily connectable wifi, a great TV comfy room which our children enjoyed. My Dad has mobility issues and he found the property exceptionally easy to navigate around. We had plenty comfy bedrooms, bathrooms, toilets available. All were really luxurious, especially the showers offering a shower head and overhead shower with continual hot water available for all. The Farmhouse was immaculate and the best value for money we've experienced in any local self-catering experience. We will be back! Thank you so much for the hospitality and the best weekend.

Fantastic

We booked solsgirth farmhouse for the weekend with the whole family to celebrate my sister's 40th birthday, I would highly recommend this to anybody considering booking, DO IT! Communication was amazing, whether it was a phonecall, text or email, replies were quick and nothing was a hassle, thank you Leigh. Has everything you would need for the weekend, we were lucky enough to have the market on during our stay, deffo worth a look round.

We had a lovely family weekend at Solsgirth, the house is great and the layout of the kitchen / dining / living area is fantastic for a big group. The location is nice and private with plenty garden space outside. A highlight was the farm tour, really nice touch to our stay.

The farmhouse was brilliant for our family weekend. It had everything we needed and we were able to arrange a online shop to be delivered before we arrived. We done the farm tour with Jan which was excellent, and the kids had a great time exploring the farm. We have already booked again for next year and can't wait to come back.

9 of all our group members loved the house. Very clean and high quality furnishings especially I liked the kitchen facilities since we had to cook dinners. I will book again when I visit Scotland next time. The host members were also very kind and helpful

Family vacation

We were four adults and three teenagers visiting from Iceland and America, and we all absolutely loved the property. It is truly breathtaking—spacious rooms, incredibly comfortable beds, and an amazing kitchen that had everything we needed. The welcome basket was such a thoughtful and lovely touch.The hot tub was a special treat, and the farm tour was a highlight for both the kids and the adults. We loved meeting the animals and feeding the lambs—such a memorable experience.Overall, just a wonderful stay. Thank you again for everything!

A lovely last minute getaway

We had the most wonderful stay at this holiday home! The accommodation was spotless, cosy, and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. One of the highlights of our trip was the farm tour – it was such a unique experience for both the kids and us adults. Getting up close with the animals and learning more about farm life made our stay truly memorable. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and thoughtful, and you can tell they put a lot of care into making guests feel at home. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful countryside escape with a bit of fun and adventure!

Wow just wow I’ve been working on road for 15 years and this is best place ever stayed Kitchen amazing we can cook chat have a drink all in one place with views that a amazing Bedrooms so comfy bathrooms amazing We did not use snug as spent most of time in kitchen enjoying the amazing meat got from the farm There is a hot tub aswell this place not to be missed can not wait to return

Home from home

There were six of us staying for a week at Home Farm. The house has been beautifully renovated and the welcome basket was lovely. We were made to feel very welcome by Leigh and we enjoyed the extra treat of a wood fired hot tub! The farm visit, if you can arrange one, was great and we enjoyed watching the gaggle of ducks and two geese who think they are ducks, wandering around the property. The house is very quiet and it is a great location for exploring the local countryside. Stirling is not far away and we even had a day at St Andrews while two of us played golf on the Old Links. Our family stretches back to at least the 1700's working on the farm and surrounding farms which made it extra extra special to stay! We will be recommending to our relatives!
