I sincerely apologize for the confusion during the check-in process. I agree with you it should be and is normally a seamless process. Typically, guests enjoy the convenience of checking in directly at the front desk, so I completely understand how this disruption may have been frustrating. After looking into what occurred, it appears there was a training-related issue with my property management company regarding an owner booking. I want to assure you that when a reservation is made directly through me on VRBO, you should never be asked to pay additional fees at check-in, with the only exception being a parking pass if one was not purchased in advance. If you were requested to pay for anything else, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly so I can address it right away. Regarding the bunk beds, I reviewed all prior work orders and didn’t see any reported concerns, as they are typically a solid and sturdy piece of furniture. That said, I immediately submitted a new work order to have them fully inspected. While no issues were found during the review, I would really value the chance to better understand your experience—please feel free to message me anytime with additional details. Your comfort is very important to me, and I truly wish we had the opportunity to resolve these concerns while you were still there. Sarah, I'm very sorry you had to deal with some unruly guests, construction noise etc. Unfortunately the time of your stay was very soon after the devastating blow of Hurricane Sally. Our building was one of the first to reopen, which necessitated the need to host disaster recovery workers. The buildings that withstand hurricanes are made of concrete, which can make noise between floors. Normal guests are wearing flip flops and barefooted, so their shoes don't make noise. I know the building was short staffed as everyone in the city was dealing with damages. In normal circumstances the smoking issues would be addressed and the guests abusing the no smoking rule would have been asked to leave. Please don't hold that against the building or my condo, because that isn't the normal traveler that is staying in the building. I hope you reconsider and come back to see us in the future.

Our goal as the owners of our condo is for every guest to have the most enjoyable and rewarding experience. As much as I appreciate constructive feedback, your review is a bit troubling. From the onset of your complaining, we as the owners went out of our way to accommodate. Maintenance was notified of the musty smell. They quickly responded and sprayed the room with disinfectant spray and reported back to me that they didn’t notice any smell, but treated the condo anyway. When you complained about the king mattress, we took into consideration that it was the oldest mattress in the condo and decided perhaps it was time to replace it, even though we had never received any complaints in the past. We purchased a new king mattress and had it delivered the next day. You in fact messaged me the day after letting me know the new mattress was great and you were having a wonderful time! On behalf of the flooding bathtub, I double checked the maintenance work orders to see if anything had been turned in on behalf of the bathtub flooding or any plumbing issues for that matter, but nothing had been reported. The ceiling fans are new and work just fine. There are instructions in the condo on how to operate them. If you were having trouble again maintenance should have been notified, but there were no work orders. The toilet paper dispenser in the guest bathroom has been repaired. As for the paint and lamps, we will check them and make any repairs necessary when we visit in April. I never imagined anyone would complain about paint being touched up following the devastating blow of Hurricane Sally. I really don’t understand your 2 star rating when in your own words when you were asking for a refund due to two restless nights, you said “this overall is a great location and view, you have a great place”!
