Agritourism “La casa del sole” is a beautifully country villa, perfect for exploring southern Tuscany, Umbria (the green heart of Italy) and relaxing with friends and family.

Two-bedroom modern structure with swimming pool, extensive gardens in sight of Castiglione del Lago on Tuscany/Umbria border. Tasteful classic interiors with dining & lounge areas create a relaxing ambiance amid spectacular views.

The Montepulciano area in which the estate is located is the ideal base for touring the vineyards and is rich with culture & history.

The farmhouse offers extreme comfort, curated with artistic touches, a colorful blend of contemporary furniture and antiques, and filled with amenities such ecological underfloor cooling / heating, a game room and two very well equipped and spacious cook's kitchen. Sit back and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and swimming pool in an impeccably maintained lawn, with endless views of a gently rolling landscape.

There is something to please everyone in the surrounding area: Medieval hilltop villages, ancient castles and Renaissance churches to explore; vineyards, olive groves and fine cuisine to discover; golf courses and tennis courts and even horse riding in the nearby village; sailing, windsurfing and fishing on Lake Trasimeno. Both Florence and Rome are viable day trips and Perugia with its famous Jazz Festival is just 40 minutes away

THE VILLA
The beautiful veranda with wooden table leads into a large elegant living room with an ample and very well-equipped chef's kitchen.
Two double bedrooms with garden view and two en-suite bathrooms with shower. Perfect for a couple holidaying with small children.
Villa is complemented by a second dining room with equipped kitchen

In addition, there is the possibility of dividing the entire structure into two separate apartments, each consisting of:
- Living room with kitchen
- Bathroom
- Double bedroom, with the possibility of an additional single bed (2+1)
For a total of 6 sleeps

During your stay why not treat yourselves to an evening of authentic Umbrian home cooking.
Our private cook, the lovely Anna, is available upon request to provide for you a delicious 3 or 4 course menu using traditional and local recipes. She is happy to cater to any dietary restrictions or requirements. Please let us know if you would like to see a menu.

Within walking distance [1km/0.5 miles] of tiny Pozzuolo, south-west of Lake Trasimeno. The fortified promontory of Castiglione del Lago offers a castle, beaches and sailing 10 minutes' drive to the east, and to the south is the hilltop town of Chiusi with its Etruscan tombs and museums. Two more hilltop villages, Montepulciano, world renowned for its wine cellars in the Etruscan walls and Cortona, center of art and antiques, can be reached in about 20 minutes. The ancient city of Perugia, is 40 minutes’ drive, with the enchanting Assisi not far beyond. Further afield are Siena, Arezzo and Orvieto, all less than an hour away. Florence and Rome are also within a day trip.

CLOSEST AIRPORTS: Perugia, 1 hour; Florence, 1 hour 30 minutes; Pisa, about 2 hours; Rome, about 2 hours.

CLOSEST RAILWAY STATIONS: Terontola Cortona 20 minutes’ drive, Castiglione del Lago (10 minutes) and Chiusi 25 minutes’ drive [for fast trains to Rome and Florence].

GETTING AROUND
We recommend renting a car during your stay as the area is best experienced with personal transport. Pre-booked taxi service also possible subject to availability. The property has onsite parking for up to two cars.

Please note that the maid service does not include personal laundry. If you require any laundry services please advise us prior to your arrival at the villa, payable locally in Euros.

During the summer season we reserve the right to impose minimum stay of 1 week.
The interior of the villa
The villa is internally divided into two apartments which can be connected if necessary, each equipped with every comfort. In fact, you will find inside all the bedroom and bathroom linens and kitchen utensils to make the most of your experience.

Both apartments are equipped with air conditioning in all rooms and Wi-Fi.
