Lovely location but layout of Condo and constant construction irritating. The biggest concern was there was nothing in description or pictures indicating multi-level of condo with large flights of stairs. Most notably, no bathroom on main level. I am a recovering Stroke victim and would not have rented with this situation. We stayed 47 days with constant construction starting at 8 in the morning with large equipment many times blocking our assigned parking spot. While management was apologetic and attempted to try to change location, they claimed they had no other property to move us to. They claimed I should have known condo was townhouse style, whatever that means. Also pool not heated and was too cold to swim. Views were very nice and surrounding area has great restaurants and shopping very close by.
Great stay for almost a week. Location is convenient and easily accessible to the beach. Easy check in / out. The property was nice and well outfitted, however all the linens, towels, soaps, etc. felt very cheap. The bed sheet / mattress cover came off every night, the towels were old and the soap was on par with an economy hotel. Minor problems but for the amount of dollars spent on a vacation and having worked in hospitality all my career (and with family members in vacation rentals), management should spend a little more on these things and have nice / quality stuff for its guests.
The condo was nice and clean and had a great view, but there was very little toilet paper and paper towels. Not enough for 6 people and a 3 night stay.
Property was just as described and pictured. Well maintained. A little difficult to find any unit in these buildings if this is your first time staying here. Great location and very comfortable and relaxing. We were very lucky to have great weather for our family stay over New Years holiday.
Nice updated unit, great location on Amelia Island Plantation ... but, lots of rules
The properties on Amelia Island Plantation are simply amazing, and the location is outstanding in terms of the ocean views and access to things to do. This unit was rented through a property manager vs. the Omni or a private rental, so in addition to the Home Away terms, there was a separate lease agreement, as well as a signature for the pool key card (a $50 replacement fee if lost or misplaced during your stay). The condo was well equipped and the pool area, as well as access to the beach, were clean, convenient, well maintained and peaceful. Because I was driving in, it wasn't a big deal to me but I feel it worth mentioning that this condo does not supply beach or pool towels, or beach chairs/umbrellas, and the owner doesn't allow towels from the condo to be used at the beach or pool (stated in the lease terms). Also, for longer stays, you'll want to plan on purchasing paper products as the lease stipulates that an initial amount will be supplied, but the renter is responsible for replenishment (1 roll of paper towels and 4 rolls of toilet paper when we checked in). There is an in-unit washer/dryer which was convenient (a definite plus for Beachwalk vs. Sand Castles where the washer/dryers are available but coin operated). Overall would stay at Beachwalk again, but recommend adult renters w/o small children for this specific rental.
