You couldn't ask for a better location. A beautiful space in a beautiful place perched on the edge of Porthmeor beach and perfectly located for walking to galleries, restaurants and shops. It is a great place for family and friends.
Watch the sunset over the beach, enjoy the large living space, sit on the window seat and watch the weather, people and waves go by. Saltings is a special retreat and a home from home for our many guests who return year after year.
Upper Saltings is a space inspired by the sea and St Ives. Designed for enjoyable holidays with family or friends.
Now with Starlink internet so you can enjoy super fast speeds in an area that is still only on copper wire for standard broadband users.
A long hallway featuring all kinds of artworks, the bedrooms are located off of here.
A spacious twin bedroom at the rear with the option of a twin or superking bed, followed by an incredible nautically themed bunk room that children adore, it has six beds but we recommend using only the lowest two.
The master bedroom has an ensuite and a king sized bed with courtyard views. There is a further bedroom with a king size bed off the dining room with similar views to the master bedroom.
The high ceilings, light and airy open plan living space is a space you'll want to spend a lot of time. The kitchen, dining area and living area all have stunning sea views and walls adorned by pieces of original art.
The window seat is the perfect perch for a cup of tea and a book and a long relaxing afternoon watching the changing scenes of Porthmeor, including stunning sunsets.
Guests are welcome to use the property as a home from home but we do ask that respect is paid to the fixtures and fittings and that you don't help yourself to additional laundry. Don't worry we will provide a full set of linen and towels at the beginning of your stay.
Our small team are here to ensure you have a wonderful holiday. We will aim to greet you onsite on arrival, if timings don't work we do have a key safe too. You can expect to hear from us during your stay to ensure everything is going as planned but we also realise that this is your space for the week.
If you would like any recommendations or advice we're here to help and if something does happen to go wrong you'll have the means to contact us so we can resolve this for you.
Downalong is a brilliant part of town full of community spirit, traditional fishermans cottages and a maze of narrow streets. The beach is literally right in front of you and Porthmeor is one of the best known in St Ives. It is overlooked by Tate, St Ives, has a great cafe and is the best surf spot in town.
Within a couple of minutes walk there are other good restaurants, shops and cafes too.
The narrow streets and busy car parks can make St Ives quite hard work in busy weeks, it's by no means impossible but a pinch of patience is likely to be needed. The nearest car park is The Island which is about 100m away and is a public pay and display car park.
Alternatively you may travel by train, it's a great way to enter our town as the branch line is beautiful and it's a 10-15 minute walk from the station.
Upper Saltings is a beautiful property and we wish very much to keep it this way, we feel it is best suited to families and small parties of adults. We do not allow stag, hens or any similar gatherings.
It is also a really old property and we do ask that our guests are considerate to those staying below, sound does travel in the building and quiet time begins from 10pm.
