We spent time at Blue Rock with our daughters, their partners and our grandson. The house is spacious, clean, very well equipped and above all has the most amazing views over Porthminster beach and St Ives. It was very relaxing to sit on the balcony or the upper lounge and soak up the surroundings. Parwin was very helpful and offered lots of useful information for our stay.

Lovely house, very well equipped, fantastic views. The outside/garden areas do need work, in general they had not been brushed or cleaned recently.- walking from the decking down to the paved area the last step is broken. - The banana tree needs to be cut back - you have to duck down to get through it. The balcony decking and the loungers needed cleaning.

Beautiful home in lovely St Ives

This is a very nice home with a gorgeous view of St Ives and the water. The common space on the main floor was large enough for a family of six adults to gather together at mealtime. The large room on the top floor worked well for those that needed a remote workspace.

Christmas Holiday

We thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas stay at Blue Rock. The house is beautiful and very well equipped for our party of ten.The location is perfect, with just a short walk to the beach or town centre. The return walk is quite steep, but we soon got used to it.The sea view from property is exceptional and is definitely the highlight of the house. We would definitely love to return in the future.Thank you to Parwin for her instructions and welcome to the property.

Amazing views and location

Fabulous house and fantastic views from the kitchen/diner/master bedroom with even more breathtaking views right across St Ives from the lounge on the top floor (even better than the photos!). The house was very clean, beds comfy and decorated to a high specification. The owners were very friendly checking in with us before our stay and making recommendations on where to eat. Convenient and in walking distance to the many beautiful beaches, shops, cafes and restaurants but St Ives is hilly so the walk uphill home keeps you fit after all those lovely Cornish pasties and scones! We had a wonderful stay at Bluerock and loved St Ives and the many places we visited.and hope to return.

Beautiful house with amazing views

Beautiful and comfortable house with amazing views of St Ives bay. We saw dolphins, gannets, guillemots and numerous other birds at sea from the windows. It is in a fantastic location, in walking distance of numerous gorgeous beaches and the harbour. We ate out most nights and didn’t eat a less than very good meal.

Lovely property in excellent location. Will write this review as I would like to see it on the app. Blue Rock is stunning. Amazing layout with really nice balcony and lounge area. Middle floor is accessed from parking area and has great main bedroom with en-suite and kitchen/ dining area leading to balcony. Honestly felt like home to all of us in a few hours! Lower ground floor has 4 really good sized and clean bedrooms and 2 bath/ shower rooms. Access to garden from down here or at the side but to be honest we didn’t really use garden. It is secluded and nice but with the balcony we never went out there. Balcony was main place we all used at all times of day and night with table, chairs and sunbeds. Slightly overlooked but never an issue for us. Everywhere we went we were trying to spot the lounge and did from the local beach and harbour and every time we walked back from town seeing the lounge windows meant we were nearly back. Great location as near town and harbour but far enough away to not be affected by the crowds. House is on one of the main roads in and out of town so can be a bit busy and noisy at night but not a big deal. Makes getting to and out of town very quick and easy. Overall excellent house and would love to return. Spent many an hour on the balcony or up in the lounge enjoying the incredible views across the bay.

Blue Rock

This was a beautiful property to come to to recharge ... especially lovely having not been out of our hometown since before the lockdown in March. It is a well equipped house with amazing views and the best thing was being able to walk into St Ives and to the beach so easily (5 mins). Thank you Parwin

Lovely warm house with great location and views

Great weeks stay at this property. From the outset all ran smoothly. David and Parwin were very organised. On arrival house was very clean and tidy. Great off road parking. Lovely location and superb views. Great to be able to take the dogs. Shower upstairs was superb. Kitchen well equipped and plenty of TVs. Good WIFI. Planing to definitely visit again.

A holiday home you won't want to leave !

Blue rock was exactly as described , we were met by the helpful caretaker Paul .All the rooms were immaculate. The top floor sitting room has wonderful views and unlike many rentals the seating is so comfortable . The service from the owners could not be better and they were so helpful regarding our special requirements for my husbands medical condition. Would recommend Blue rock rental and St Ives as a great holiday destination. We all look forward to a return visit !

Late September week at Blue Rock, Porthminster, St Ives

We've just returned from a wonderful week in this beautifully appointed and very luxurious holiday home - Blue Rock, perched above Porthminster Beach - the property had everything we could wish for in a holiday home. Very helpful owners who were keen to make sure we had the very best time on holiday. We were a party of 5 adults ranging in age plus a dog and we are all agreed that Blue Rock is an excellent base for exploring St Ives and the surrounding areas. It also has parking for 3 cars - a rarity in St Ives! Thanks for a fabulous week.

Outstanding

I am always one for picking holes in things or finding fault, but for the first time ever that was not possible when it came to the quality of this property and what it has to offer. Our first U.K holiday (forced upon us by Covid) but will now not be the last. St Ives will be on our list for next year, but only if we can stay in the same house. Well done to the owners for providing such a luxury property at a very reasonable price.

Truly stunning home from home

Blue Rock really has the wow factor. Beautiful top floor lounge with magnificent views over the bay and plenty of comfortable seating for everybody. House has everthing you need with top quality furnishings and facilities. Information/instruction folder very informative and useful (this is often lacking in holiday lets). Also the welcome chocs & fizz were a very nice touch. I was also impressed that the owner contacted us a couple of days before to check if we had any questions and to give us some tips. We had a wonderful holiday and a very comfortable stay. I would have no hesitation recommending Blue Rock to anyone staying in St Ives.

Wonderful!

We’ve just (sadly!) returned from a wonderful holiday in St Ives staying at Blue Rock. We just couldn’t get enough of the views! Fantastic location both from that point of view and access to everything including the town and beaches plus easy to get out to on the roads (or train or bus) to other places too - perfect! The property now has an additional shower room downstairs which was great. We were a smaller group than most but with specific dynamics (our son has severe autism) and we found that the space in the property was perfect for us as a family helping us to spend some much needed time together but also with room to give each other space. We were very sorry to be leaving!

Lovely property in an ideal location

Blue Rock is a beautiful property with lovely views, balcony, and stylish interiors. It is ideally located within easy walking distance of St. Ives and its beaches. If you have dogs, it is just a short stroll from Blue Rock to the Tregenna Castle Hotel where they have lovely walks for your dogs through the grounds with beautiful views of St. Ives. The owners of Blue Rock are very helpful and we found finding and accessing the property very easy thanks to their help. The property is large enough for more than one family, and the layout is very suitable for this, but equally Blue Rock is perfect just for a couple as there is a beautiful master bedroom on the same level as the balcony. It is great that Blue Rock welcomes dogs as there are beaches, the coastal path, footpaths and the lovely walks in the hotel grounds right on your doorstep.

Parwin & David purchased Blue Rock in 2012. Parwin is a school teacher and was born in the Punjab and David is a Chartered Surveyor and was born down the Road in St Columb Major.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

David's dream has always been to own a property close to a great surfing beach and with spectacular sea views. Parwin, on the other hand, is a self-confessed chatter box who enjoys the arts and likes having lots of people around her.

They started searching for a holiday home in June 2012 but got off to a slow start as they were both looking for different properties.

Fortunately, their search came to an abrupt end when they found a house that ticked all of their boxes. Blue Rock is within easy walking distance of the centre of St Ives, overlooks Porthminster beach, the sea and the harbour. It is also close to Porthmeor beach (one of David's favourite surfing beaches) and has great car parking. What more could anyone ask for?

This lovely detached holiday home is superbly located 4 minutes walk from the centre of St Ives and 5 minutes walk from the Blue Flag Porthminster Beach, and has stunning views of the harbour and the sea.

With stylish interiors, this reverse level architect designed holiday accommodation combines the charm of the seaside with 21st-century convenience. Perfect for families or groups of friends.

It has 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a well-equipped kitchen, car parking for up to 3 cars and a Mediterranean style garden.

St Ives was awarded ‘Best UK Seaside Town’ in both 2010 and 2011. With cobbled streets and artists’ studios, it is a great place to chill out in pavement cafes or gourmet restaurants. The Tate gallery is also worth a visit.
