Kellywyk Cottage is a delightful, sunny little cottage with the beam of an old cider press running across the ceiling in the living room - a nod to the cider making that happened at Rowse back in the early 20th century. With a bed option of either a supering or 2 singles, Kellywyk is ideal for couples or 2 friends sharing. Kellywyk is a peaceful retreat for those seeking an escape and has everything needed for a comfortable, self catering holiday. The lounge has a modern reclining sofa, a flat screen digital TV and stereo. The kitchen is fully fitted with a dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge freezer, oven, hob & microwave. There is free internet access. Outside, Kellywyk has a private garden, sun loungers, a BBQ & eating area and off road parking.

Located on the edge of the beautiful Tamar Valley National Landscape, Rowse Farm is a 17th century ‘Grade II’ listed farmhouse set in 40 peaceful acres of pasture, woodland & streams, with 3 holiday cottages. The Weary Friar pub is a short walk away and serves lovely pub food. There are many other local places to eat just a short drive away.
Also within striking distance of Rowse are some of the West Country's best attractions - the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, the National Maritime Museum, the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth, beaches on both North & South coasts of Cornwall, the Moors, the National Trust houses at Cotehele, Antony, Saltram & Lanhydrock. The historic coastal villages of Looe & Polperro are also nearby. There are too many local walks to list here, but a few of our favourites are along the coastal path from Rame Head to Cawsand and the beautiful National Trust's Lansallos Cove, which is dog friendly all year round.

Cornwall's rugged coastline and quaint villages are the backdrop for many Films, TV series and books. Take time out to explore the literary world of Rosamunde Pilcher, shooting locations for Poldark, Doc Martin and Beyond Paradise, to name a few.

Guests enjoy complimentary membership to the China Fleet Country Club and are welcome to make use of their Health Club facilities and golf. Additional charges apply.

The cottage was beautifully kept and there was nothing that had not been thought of. The hosts were both on hand at check in and could be easily contacted if there were any needs. Thoroughly recommend as a base for travelling in the area.

Lovely stay in a really nice property Couple of points - it’s a cold building could benefit from a fireplace focal point and under floor heating in the bathroom but that didn’t take away from the overall enjoyment Also would have been extra bowls, plates and cutlery just to save on washing upBut overall a beautiful location , lovely stay and I’d recommend

Hi Sharon, thank you for your lovely review! We work really hard to ensure the best experience for our guests so we were pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. Sorry to hear that you were cold in Kellywyk - this is really disappointing. Although the cottage is an old stone building, there are modern heaters in the bedroom and living area that warm the cottage up well. The bathroom also has a heater, heated towel radiator and thick bath mats. We can only think that the heating timer settings overall were not adequate - and we will definitely look into this. Thank you for your feedback regarding extra crockery and cutlery - the cottage is setup for 2 people, with settings for 4 but we will look to provided extra based on your recommendation. As we live on site, it's a shame we didn't see you more during your stay - we would have done our best to address any comments straight away. Perfect getaway location

Barry and Kirsty have created a beautiful atmosphere and standard of accommodation for their guests. The most difficult part of our 3 night trip was to push ourselves to leave the house and garden and explore the nearby attractions of Cornwall. The location allowed us to do both the North and South coasts and still have time to relax in the evenings. We would definitely recommend the cottage.

These cottages are very well presented, there is everything you need in the kitchen. The owner’s are two of the nicest people you could wish to meet. Unfortunately the weather was against us, but we will visit again, hopefully next year.

Cottage stay

My daughter and I have a fantastic few days staying in the one bedroom cottage. It was easy to find and the cottage was extremely clean and well maintained. The beds were very comfortable and we both slept well. The cottage has a fridge freezer, washer dryer and a dishwasher. Hairdryer, towels, toilet roll and complementary shampoo, conditioner, scones, strawberry jam, clotted cream, milk and teabags! It’s an hour away from Newquay if you’re interested in surfing or body boarding.Barry was very helpful throughout our stay with them.

From the initial booking until our departure, Kirsty and Barry were outstanding. When I realised I had forgotten to mention our dog, a quick email resolved everything, their prompt and helpful response set the tone for the excellent service we received throughout our stay.Before arriving, Barry even contacted me directly by mobile phone when their internet and landline had gone down due to a thunderstorm. This thoughtful call allowed us to confirm our arrival time smoothly.On arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Kirsty and Barry, who gave us a comprehensive introduction to the property. The cottage itself was spotless, extremely well-equipped, and filled with all the home comforts you’d need to truly enjoy your stay. Their introductory package for the cottage and surrounding area was exceptionally helpful, something many larger “luxury” organisations could learn from.The thoughtful doggy welcome package, complete with treats, a towel, a toy, and even a temporary dog tag was an excellent touch and very much appreciated.Nothing was too much trouble for this couple, and it really made the difference. We look forward to returning to this part of the country next year and, hopefully, securing accommodation with Kirsty and Barry again. Definitely a 10 out of 10 out of 10 experience.

Il a fait fraiment froid dans le cottage au jour de notre arrivée. Et nous avons d' abord nettoyé to

Le cottage n'etait pas propre. C' etait plain d' arraignée. Il y avait beaocoup de poussière. Les chaises au salon ou nous avons manger tous les jours, etait trop haut. Nous avons cuisiner tout les jours et il avait mème pas du sel ou poivre huile et vinaigre. Pour le lavevaissel il y avait pas asser de tabs. Mème pas de poudre a laver, pas de papier de toilette. On savait pas, si on recoit du linge propre pour notre 2ème semaine de séjour.

Dear Beatrice, We are shocked at your review. We have been managing our cottages for 12 years & always have 5 star reviews. If you had questions about the cottage why did you not discuss when you were here? To answer your points clearly: * Our cottages are professionally cleaned and checked on every changeover. They are never dirty or dusty. * your comment about 'pestilence' is damaging and untrue. If you refer to an occasional spider or fly, well this is the country! * The dining chairs are high but are designed as eating chairs in the kitchen - nobody else has ever mentioned they are too high. * We provide as standard salt, pepper, sugar, coffee, tea, a homemade cream tea & milk. * We provide 7 dishwasher tablets & special eco dishwashing soap. * We provide 2 toilet rolls per bathroom. * We give clean towels & bedding every week. * In July we do not need heating. But in your cottage there was electric heating you could have turned on in each room if you wished. There was no need to be cold! The above is our standard practice, and we are independently assessed by our agency as 4 star accommodation. so we are very puzzled as to your comments & poor rating. We think this is very unfair and damaging to our business. If you had such issues when you were here why did you not say something? And why post your review 3 months later? Reviews are really important and we ask all our guests for such. But yours is very unfair and also untrue, and we cannot understand why you should do this.

Absolutely top class in setting, facilities (all electric) & everything we could wish for to make our holiday enjoyable, relaxing & comfortable. Will definitely look forward to revisiting, hopefully next year & beyond. There was nothing lacking! The garden area of the cottage was well maintained, safe & ideal for our dog. The outdoor table, chairs, parasol & bbq in the garden made for a very relaxing time, weather pemitting.The hosts were super friendly & helpful, & nothing was too much trouble in ensuring our stay was 1st Class !! Not forgetting their very friendly dog, who was keen to befriend our dog. We left with the feeling we had just stayed with very good friends, even though we had not met before. My wife, I & our dog thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Alles valt op zijn plaars. Alles is netjes en schoon. Barry en Kirsti zijn zeer gastvrij en losjes in de omgang. Geven tips als je er om verlegen zit. Omgeving is super rustig. We hebben echt genoten en kunnen dit verblijf zeer zeker aanbevelen als uitvalbasis voor dagtrips.

Fabulous

Barry and Kirsty made my partner Gary and I very welcome and was there to greet us on our arrival. Barry was very informative on the the appliances in the cottage and Kirstie on the “ Things to do and places to go”. The location is excellent for getting to both Cornwall and Devon. Thank you so much guys you are a great team. We loved the banter we had with you both and of course not forgetting the apple picking in your lovely orchards. Now to make the apples pies !!!

Lovely rural stay in Cornwall

Barry & Kirsty were great hosts and provided lots of helpful information ahead of time and went through details on arrival. There were very knowledgeable and seemed keen to make sure we had an enjoyable stay. We also really appreciated the nice touch of the scones, cream and jam which went down well after the long drive! Pillaton is great location though we spent more time towards the coast where our family were staying. But would definitely recommend the butchers in Tideford and also the local pub - The Weary Inn - looked great. We were happy with the property. The only small area for improvement might be the sofa in the living room which wasn't the cosiest and also not angled well for the television. But as we were out most of the time this didn't bother us! Again a big thank you to Barry and Kirsty.

Amazing holiday accommodation.

Staying at one of the cottages was the best holiday ever. The attention to detail by the hosts Barry and Kirsty was top class. The accommodation was perfect and the scones and tea which was left for us on arrival was such a nice surprise. The Surrounding views from the cottage were just beautiful. The location of the cottage meant it was easy to visit loads of different place. We will be back again. Thankyou for a brilliant holiday.

Great stay!

Barry and Kirsty were very friendly and helpful. Cottage was perfect for us. Everything we needed for a lovely time. Spotless and comfortable. Thinking of going back for another stay at some point - plenty of things to do using Kellywyk as a base!

Amazing!!!

We had a great time!Cottage was amazing ,wherry cosy and clean.Had the best sleep, bed was amazing and we felt relaxed and like home. Wherry quiet, what made our stay more enjoyable. Host's both was wherry friendly and lovely. Definitely made us feel welcomed. For sure we are coming back!!! Thank you again to Kirsty and Barry for welcoming us in their place .

Lovely green & quiet paradise in Cornwall

Barry and Kirsty were very pleasant and helpful upon our arrival. The cottage is a lovely and cozy, it is also equipped with all appliances to make your stay comfortable. Despite the fact, the weather didn't behave we were able to travel to towns nearby and discover the area. I'd definitely would recommend this place for a long or short stay.

After meeting on the "Clipper Round The World Yacht Race", and previously spending many years living in the busy streets of London and York, we decided to move to the relaxing West Country to enjoy a better lifestyle. After much research, we bought Rowse - a 400 year old farmhouse & estate. The previous owners had worked hard to restore it and it is now a beautiful home for us & our guests to enjoy.
We have continued to improve the cottages and we are passionate about providing luxurious accommodation, to a high standard and with a homely feel that we ourselves would be happy to stay in. We have a number of guests who return to stay with us each year and we take great pride in welcoming both old and new guests to share in the beauty here at Rowse.
We love to explore the local area and find new walks (both dog and non-dog friendly!), new pubs and cafés and new places to eat that we can then share with our guests. We thoroughly enjoy living in this special part of the country and we look forward to sharing it with our guests.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

We fell in love with Rowse because of its secluded, peaceful location & its beautiful 40 acres of woods, pasture, streams & gardens. Often referred to as the "Forgotten Corner" South East Cornwall is one of Cornwall's best kept secrets. The stunning Rame Peninsula, the Tamar Valley, Bodmin and Dartmoor moors are all within easy reach, not to mention the historic Plymouth waterfront, the Hoe and narrow streets of the Barbican. We enjoy dog walking around Rowse and often take the short drive to Downderry Beach or Tregantle Beach in Whitsand Bay, which are dog friendly all year round. Siblyback Lake up on Bodmin moor isn't too far away and the yummy Olive & Co café there is a real treat!
We are confident that you will enjoy your stay at Rowse Farm and all the West Country has to offer!

Rowse Farm is surrounded by beautiful, peaceful countryside, ideal for exploring by foot or just kicking back and relaxing in the cottage gardens. Main road routes are only a short drive away, so a day out to the beaches at Seaton, Downderry and Whitsand Bay or trips to Cotehele House, Pentillie Castle, Lanhydrock and the Eden Project are all within easy reach. Rowse really does offer the best of both worlds - tranquility in and around the cottage, or the more populated beaches and visitor attractions. Lots of our guests enjoy a few days out and about and then balance it with a few days chilling out and enjoying the wildlife and seclusion that Rowse has to offer.
