Lanthorn Cottage is a wonderful end of terrace cottage consisting of a kitchen/diner with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, multi-fuel stove, and dining seating for four, and a sitting room with Smart TV and a multi-fuel stove. The bedrooms consist of a double with TV and a twin, along with a bathroom and a cloakroom. Outside there is an enclosed garden with lawn, summer house, external utility and WC, and a courtyard with barbecue and furniture, as well as off-road parking for two cars. Within 0.1 miles, you will find a shop, pub, and a beach, and please note that one well-behaved pet is welcome but sorry, this is a non-smoking property. WiFi, bed linen and towels are all included in the price. Cot, highchair, and stairgate available. For a getaway to remember, choose Lanthorn Cottage. Note: Check-in from 3pm, check-out by 9:30am. Its lighthouse is the oldest working light in the area, as well as being the only independently run beacon in Great Britain, dating back to 1790. Its imposing tower of red and white stands proudly on the north-eastern headland surrounded by verdant countryside. You can visit this beautiful structure during public open days and climb the 112 steps up to the lantern. Another notable building in the village is St. Mary's Church, a 15th century landmark, whose tower warned mariners of the position of the perilous sandbanks nearby. This church also has set open days, where you can enjoy splendid views of the sea and enveloping fields from the top of the tower. Enjoy a picturesque stroll down to the beach and watch the lifeboats speedily tackle the untamed seas. There is also a village trail for you to amble, taking you past all the Happisburgh landmarks worth seeing. The village of Winterton-on-Sea is within easy reach by car and boasts a vast beach and wildlife-rich nature reserve that has attracted colonies of Terns and rare Natterjack toads. The old fishermen's cottages and village church makes it an idyllic location to bring the family for a day out. Further afield is the city of Norwich with its two cathedrals and Norman castle, whilst the popular seaside resort of Great Yarmouth offers one of Britain’s largest open air markets.
