5 St Ives holiday home in Cornwall. Walking distance to town and beaches
If you like space and place to enjoy dinner with family and friends this is the ideal property. House has space to relax and enjoy family time both inside or outside in the beautiful sunshine of Cornwall. A three bedroomed home that can be enjoyed by families or friends as the bedroom space will accommodate 6 people comfortably. The house has a large bathroom, with separate toilet and on the first floor two good sized bedrooms to relax and enjoy. The third bedroom is a large space on the 3rd floor with french doors leading to small balcony that has views overlooking Godrevy lighthouse in Cornwall. Guests can enjoy a quiet drink or early morning coffee. There is also a small front garden that is enclosed with gate. The house has a large kitchen dining area and a separate dining and living area for families to relax and enjoy peace and quiet away from the town. There is internet access in the house. If you are looking for a larger property this house is excellent as it comes with availability for next door named Cornish Pearl and you can find the details on VRBO with the code 1844609 Both properties sleep 6 + cot and have car parking space
Good location for the town, shops & beaches & especially allowing 2 dogs. Lovely living room & master bedroom space with balcony, the spacious kitchen diner & parking was a bonus.
Lovely stay, great for the border collie- good value. Easy walk into town whilst not being on the super busy main streets. Kindly left milk for tea coffee etc.
The house is in a good location and accessible for town, but the house needs updating. It is quite tired and because the loft room is actually the best room in the house and one that has been refurbished, it shows up the rest of the house. We had problems with the oven and the hosts were responsive by mail but could not get it fixed. However, not sure the opening gambit being âwe have not had problems with it beforeâ gives you confidence it will be addressed. We donât always eat in on a holiday but when we do want to use the facilities, they should work but also have a way of getting any maintenance issue sorted quickly. They did not manage to sort it but we managed.
I think the level of cleanliness needs some attention as prior to finding out if the oven worked I had to clean all the grill racks as we were hoping to have pizza. There is an air fryer so we had to improvise.
The bathroom and toilet taps are not great as they are push downs with the bathroom ones popping back up immediately. I think a deep clean (especially of the stairs carpet and landing) plus the bathroom tiles are needed.
There is no real outside space as the rear of the house backs onto a car park. Although there is a table in the small front decked area you would not want to sit out, as it is on the main road and very busy.
However, it served our purposes for a short stay of three days but I would not stay longer or return.
In this occasion the old adage stands that you get what you pay for.
We are David and Helen and we live in the North West of England and have two homes in St Ives Cornwall. Helen had family in St Ives and has holidayed there since the 1960's and then continued to come to St Ives with David and the family since the late 1970's
The coastal waters are as beautiful as any other place in the world. The Cornish people are welcoming and St Ives is just a beautiful beauty spot to relax and recharge the batteries
Our holiday home is special to us as it truly is a home from home. If there are more than 6 of you wishing to stay at 5 There is the option of taking Cornish Pearl property also as this is next door to 5 and both are special and unique in their own way
