We arrived and were able to get in with the key in the lock box which gave us so much peace so we could arrive at any time. The property outside and inside was breathtaking. Inside the house was perfectly arranged and decorated so you could socialize and look out at the property. Our dog ran and swam and had the absolutely best time exploring the back trail. We walked around the property and it was so beautiful and peaceful. We had a fire inside and I cooked delicious meals for us in the totally outfitted kitchen. There wasnât anything I couldnât find. When they say pet friendly, this was the only house I ever stayed that welcomed pets. There were pet bowls and a bed. Everything the listing says is true but the feeling your heart gets from entering this utopia needs to be felt. I would give it a million stars if I could.
The house and property is amazing. The house is beautiful and very roomie, and the wood burning fireplace/stove was the perfect thing when the nights were chilly. We wish we could have used the dock/pond and outdoor patio but it was too chilly. The deck is beautiful and there is an additional deck off the upstairs master. The kitchen and family room with large dining table was perfect for our group. The little town of Callicoon is very cute and great places for food and drink only less then a 5 minute drive away. We were in town for a concert at Bethel Woods and itâs not a far drive there and you are going in the opposite direction of the traffic to and from there which is a plus! We especially loved that our friends could bring their dog and loved to see dog food/water bowls waiting for us. We loved everything about our stay and would happily book this place again.
Our family came to the area for a loved oneâs funeral, and staying at Deborahâs home provided the peace and comfort we truly needed. The house was a perfect haven for us to rest, relax, and reconnect during an emotional time. It easily and comfortably accommodated six adults and our two dogsâwho may have enjoyed the space just as much as we did!The home is tranquil, well-appointed, and clearly cared for with love. Deborah was a wonderful hostâkind, responsive, and incredibly flexible with our check-out needs, which we greatly appreciated. We visit this area frequently, and without question, weâll be staying at Deborahâs again. Highly recommended.
This home has everything we could need for a stay - including towels, bedding, and numerous toiletries and supplies we might need. The wrap-around porch offered stellar views of the private property and the large pond. There was plenty of room to take our pup for a stroll around the large property and see a variety of wildlife. Plus the three stories of bedrooms provided private sleeping accommodations for our family. Much thanks to Deb for a wonderful stay!
Out family of six adults (two parents, three adult children with one spouse) and our 2.5 yo granddaughter truly enjoyed the house and setting. Lovely and somewhat remote and secluded, but close to Calicoon where the wedding of a friends daughter was. Plenty of room and great place to relax.
The house and property were so perfect for our family. We swam in the pond every day and the dogs had freedom to roam. We saw deer and a family of turkeys each morning and evening. And the house itself was beautiful and had everything we needed; from all the kitchen essentials, to yard games and inflatables for the pond, to even basics for the dogs such as bowls and beds. It was so relaxing sitting on the giant wrap around porch or in the house watching the rain and fog on the rolling mountains. The kids are already asking when we'll come back.
We loved our time at the country home. The property was stunning and our 11-year old loved spending time on the pond in the raft. The house was very clean and very well stocked. It was so comfortable and inviting. We would definitely return. Thank you so much for letting us stay in your home.
Beautiful location in rural, beautiful, tastefully decorated, comfortable home with provision for all your needs. Layout of home provided family time together and apart. Anyone of the five of us would go again in a heartbeat.
2 of my friends/colleagues and I stayed at this beautiful home to attend a concert at Bethel Woods with other members of our firm. The home is about a 20 minute drive to Bethel Woods. The layout of the home is great. Loved the open concept of the main floor but we really loved that we each had our own rooms/bathrooms on our own floors! Because of this, this home is ideal for couples and families too. The beds were very comfortable. The property is well maintained and we enjoyed sitting by the fire near the pond one night. The kitchen and the home overall was well stocked with tons of essentials. I only wish we had more than 2 nights to stay. Hoping to return in the future!
Short drive down to the town of Callicoon, which we loved. Quick drive to Bethel Arts Center, we were in town for a concert. We enjoyed the firepit by the pond at night as well!
This was the perfect weekend getaway for my family. Such a beautiful house and peaceful setting! We enjoyed swimming in the pond, walking around the property and just relaxing on the deck with gorgeous views. The house was immaculate and Deb (the host) answered all our texts immediately. We hope to return for a visit soon!
The house is beautiful and well maintained. Plenty of room for 3 adult couples with a private bedroom/bathroom suite for each. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, glasses, cups, cutlery, spices, etc. Very nice wraparound deck with beautiful views and plenty of seating. Part of the deck is shaded by an overhang. The grounds are extensive and well maintained with lots of space for our dog to safely roam. The pond is a nice feature and the water seemed clean and aerated via a pump.
The property is about a 20 minute drive from Bethel Woods concert venue and only 5 minutes from the nearest supermarket. We would love to stay here again the next time we visit the area.
Hidden gem....amazing views and property.
Host is excellent and responsive. Amenities are top notch ( cable channels, toiletries, seasonings, fishing rods, logs, floating rafts, chargers, tape, batteries, soap, etc.). Property is really big. Great wildlife views. Felt like a real home away from home. Great for group gatherings.
We had a great stay at Debâs home! Beautiful property, amazing deck and views! Bedrooms were so comfortable and living area very spacious for the whole family to relax. hoping to be back in the future again!
Everything was perfect for our weekend away. The house was beautiful, clean and well appointed. We enjoyed the dock and the pond and will definitely be back in the future!
We loved our stay here! We came up for a quick weekend to relax before the kids head back to school. It's a great stay if you have kids. They played outside all day! They fished, swam and caught frogs and loved every second of it. We made smores one night, we walked the property. The kids got a kick out of seeing the wild turkeys at the end of the driveway one morning. Love that the house is dog friendly also. Our pooch had a blast running free and swimming as well. The house was very clean and very well kept and stocked. Deb was very responsive also. The town isn't too far away if you need anything. We took a ride in and walked around. The views are great and night we really loved looking at the billions of stars-amazing! No one wanted to leave. We look forward to coming back! Thanks for a great weekend!
Very clean, furnished with nice aesthetics an practicality.
A beautiful home with wonderful views. 4 of us guys stayed here to see a concert at Bethel Woods (15-20 min). We brought our guitars and found the great room has great acoustics! The home is outfitted well, and nicely maintained. We would certainly stay here again.
Another great stay at 109 Gabel Road. Beautiful property, well outfitted house, great location. We enjoyed walking in the back meadows, swimming in the pond, and star gazing from the deck⊠Good hiking, kayaking and fishing all nearby. Donât miss the Sunday farmerâs market and Seminary Hill Cidery in Callicoon.
We stayed at this property because we were going to a concert at the Bethel Woods Art Center. We had such a great time together, swimming and relaxing before and after the concert. The amenities in this home were perfect. The decor and accommodations couldn't be better. We wouldn't hesitate to do it again in the future.
This is our third stay at this property. We love it. It's perfect for our family. All of us - adults, kids and our dog - love the property. It's spacious, on a great piece of land, with a great pond and close to everything you could want for a true Catskills experience - hiking, renovated towns and up and coming restaurants. The hosts (Deb & Paul) are extremely responsive and very accommodating. Staying at this property is the start of a great family bonding experience. We couldn't be happier and look forward to returning soon!
This is one of the best houses we have rented for a family vacation. The house is beautiful, so well equipped, has everything you could ever need. The attention to detail was beyond my expectations. The beds were made upon arrival, towels out, kitchen well stocked, extra sheets/towels in every closet, laundry in the basement... a mother's dream come true! The property is gorgeous, the views amazing from every window. I found the best yoga spot on the stone patio in the front yard overlooking the pond and the mountains. Our family had a great stay and would have liked the chance to explore the area even more. We explored Livingston Manor, Buck Brook Alpacas, and Callicoon. The scenery is amazing this time of year (October).
Perfect private cabin with pond and walking trails, yet still close to restaurants and attractions.
We stayed at this home for the weekend with family while attending a wedding at a nearby venue. The owner was very easy to communicate with and the check in process was simple. The home is very private, has a great view, walking trails, and pond stocked with fish!
The 15 acre property around the home was well maintained and had a walking path with chairs tucked way off in the distance which everyone loved.
Inside the home was just as great. Beautiful open concept with tons of windows to enjoy the view of the pond and mountains off in the distance. Everything was very clean, the kitchen had everything you need, and the bedrooms were nice sizes. The upstairs bedroom is its own suite with a private balcony and bathroom. The basement, with a 3rd bedroom and bathroom, has a walk out to the yard which made it another very nice space within the house.
We enjoyed the pond, the fireplace, the view, the wrap around deck with rocking chairs, the deer, and most importantly the quiet! Beautiful stars at night as well.
All this, close to restaurants and shops in the city of callicoon.
All around great property! We will be back!
Thank you!
Our family resides on Long Island, New York. We bought our country house to explore nature and relax in the peaceful, laid back countryside of Callicoon. Our daughter now 22 has loved every minute upstate and still enjoys heading up there with friends. The country is a tonic for eliminating the stresses of the work week. Our 4 dogs also love the country.
Our home is about five minutes from the town of Callicoon and about the same to the Villa Roma resort. We are about 15 minutes from Bethel Woods concert venue. We are 35 minutes from the new Resorts World Catskills Casino and entertainment venue as well as the new YO1 Wellness Center in Monticello, NY.
