The space
I am very excited to welcome guests to my cosy traditional 200 year old cottage in the pretty village of West Marden. Nestled in the beautiful South Downs, there are stunning views and lovely walks, straight from the property, and a pub located close by for some post-walk refreshments!
The cottage sleeps up to 6 guests (one king and two double bedrooms) and has two bathrooms (one ensuite shower room and one family bathroom with bath and separate shower).
Ground Floor
Entrance hallway leads to the open plan kitchen-diner and stairs leading up to the first floor.
The kitchen-diner is a lovely large room, with a range cooker, butler sink and plenty of worktop space. The dining table seats six and is lovely and bright due to the large window overlooking the pretty garden, and the stable door, offering access to the back garden. Beside the dining table, you step up into the large, yet cosy sitting room, with two large sofas, armchair and window seats overlooking the garden. There is a large smart TV in the sitting room (you will need to use your own log in details for the TV applications).
Off the kitchen is a large utility/boot room with access to the gated driveway. There is an outside hand shower, perfect for cleaning off muddy dogs after a long walk in the Downs.
The utility room has plenty of space for storing coats and shoes with its bench seating, and also houses a washing machine, tumble dryer as well as another large sink.
First Floor
The first bedroom at the top of the stairs is a charming double bedroom, with dual aspect windows overlooking the beautiful garden and with views out over the neighbouring fields. It has ample storage in the wardrobe over the chest of drawers and a large mirror.
Further down the corridor on the right is the family bathroom. There is a bath as well as a separate shower in this large bathroom.
At the end of the corridor on the right hand side is a further double bedroom with large fitted wardrobes and a small TV.
On the left is the beautifully decorated master bedroom, with ensuite shower room. The large fitted wardrobes offer plenty of storage space and there is a TV in the bedroom.
There is a downstairs loo just to the left of the front door at the bottom of the stairs.
Parking is available on either side of the cottage, on the left in a car port, and on the right is a large gated driveway.
You will have access to the entire cottage. I won't be around in person, however my cottage is professionally managed by Tom and Clare at Pass The Keys, Chichester, and they will provide you with 24 hour support for your booking. The cottage is professionally cleaned and the linen and towels are replaced with freshly laundered supplies between each stay. Remote self check-in gives flexibility for late arrivals and 24/7 guest support is on hand should you need any assistance during your stay.
There will be some complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits left for your arrival, as well as miniature travel sized bottles of shampoo, shower gel and soap. Other items provided are a washing-up pack, loo roll and kitchen roll, which should last you a couple of days. If more is needed, then there is a local shop in Compton village.
Guest access
Guests have access to the whole home and garden. There is parking either side of the cottage, in either the car port or in the gated driveway.

There is space for one car in the car port on the left by the front door and space for one car in the gated driveway on the right of the cottage
Check In / Check Out
Check in time is after 4pm and check out time is before 10am. Please can we ask that you check out on time to prevent any disruption to the cleaner's schedule.
Please note a fee of ÂŁ100 for lost keys and ÂŁ50 for call outs if locked out.
Pets
Well behaved dogs are welcome to join you on your holiday in the cottage, for an additional fee of ÂŁ30 to cover extra cleaning. Please message in advance with the details of your pet (breed/age)
- Dogs must be well behaved and house trained.
- Please do not allow them upstairs or on the furniture.
- Please clear up after them in the garden and around the property.
- Muddy paws should be cleaned before they are allowed in the house.
- Please do not leave them alone in the property.
Pass the KeysÂź provides a hotel standard of service for short-let properties. Each property is professionally maintained and cleaned. We guarantee professionally cleaned linens and toiletries. We also provide 24/7 guest support and local personal service before and during your stay.
The local community-based team of Pass the KeysÂź personally inspects each home to certify they have met Pass the KeysÂźâs Property Readiness Standard.

IMPORTANT: On behalf of our host at Pass the Keys, we require guest verification facilitated by Truvi (Previously called Superhog). Upon confirming your booking, Truvi will contact the lead booker via a secure link, providing detailed instructions for the verification process.
The online verification requires a government-issued photo ID and a credit or debit card. During this process, you may choose between a refundable GBP 500 deposit (plus GBP 10 transaction fee currency equivalent) or purchase a non-refundable damage waiver of GBP 40 (currency equivalent) to cover potential damages during your stay.
Once the verification process is successfully completed, check-in information will be provided. If you opted in for a deposit, this will be refunded via credit/debit card after your stay, subject to an inspection of the property.
