Signs should indicate where units should park.Bathroom Sinks were plugged and would not drain . Dirty dust rabbits under furniture mouse dropping on top of dryer. We adjusted and still had a lovely time.
The space is perfect for family. Although when I first booked, I thought it was right across from the park, the location is really good to get to everything in Dohr county. We had our own private fire pit and the house that runs behind us had visitors, but we felt like we had our privacy. The design of the floor does cause noise to carry throughout the spaces, but it was joyful noise, chaotic, joyful, children noise.
This house was perfect for our family reunion. We had a total of 17 people. The cousins - ages 11 - 22 enjoyed taking over the upstairs. The adults all stayed downstairs. The only problem we had was a very noisy refrigerator when the ice maker malfunctioned. The owner responded quickly and fixed the problem. They were also quick to respond when we needed extra towels and paper goods. Location was perfect - very accessible to Fish Creek and surrounding communities in Door County. Thank you for a fun vacation!!
The house was beautiful and spacious. We absolutely loved the size of the kitchen and island. The owner did take a long time to reply to questions until about a month prior to the trip. Then was very prompt. The two fridges (we had 12 adults) were filled for the week with groceries. The one freezer stopped working and we had to throw away 2 gallons of ice cream as well move 5 lbs of chicken and 5 lbs of ground beef to the fridge due to defrosting. The owner immediately sent someone out, who reset the filter light and said it should be good. The next morning we woke up to the meat all being warm as well as a gallon of milk and yogurt that had to be thrown out. We still had two days so had to move everything else to the other fridge while the owner purchased a new fridge. We were told we left the fridge open too long and that was the issue. The only time the fridge was opened for any extra length of time was when filling it with our groceries when we checked in or moving things to the other fridge so it wouldnât spoil. When I asked for some compensation for the spoiled meat and dairy that we had to replace, I was told no and that we apparently dented the new fridge, which we didnât do and werenât even in the room for 48 hours with it.Also-the dishwasher does not dry when you set the cycles. Everything came out wet and we had to hand dry hours later. Lastly, the bunk beds are not in their own bedroom, but share with one of the king size rooms, not connected as it says.
This house was perfect for our large extended family to stay in! The flooring on the upper levels is just 2x6 that have cracks between them so privacy wasnât the best but worked for a short stay.
We had a large group and had lots of space to spread out or hang out. Lots of bathrooms. We were close to shopping, trolley and very nice restaurants (Alexanderâs was amazing). Door county never disappoints!
Overall the space was great for our group. Very close to downtown fish creek, walking distance to a cute bakery/coffee shop. The floor boards are see through between each boards so you can see up or down to the rooms/bathrooms directly above or below you, which was off but overall we still enjoyed our stay and would rent again.
The yard was nothing at all. No place for us to play our usual games. Your cleaning lady wanted to run us over when we were using the road to play a game. She looked really crabby.
While we did enjoy our stay at this property, there were things we wished we had known before we stayed. My review is intended to inform and is not necessarily criticism. We purchased $250 in steaks with the intent of grilling out as a family our first night. When we took off the cover we discovered a âGriddleâ not a grill as described. Imagine our disappointment, we might as well have used a pan on the stovetop. Although the fire pit was nice and large, itâs positioned next to the other rental properties which offered no privacy. Inside was an open concept alright, open to the point of seeing directly down from upper floorboards into all spaces below, including bedrooms and bathroom. We expected noise as other reviewers had mentioned but did not know lights would keep other guests awake due to shining up and down through floorboards - zero insulation. We were actually surprised it met building codes. Furnishings were very nice and comfortable as were beds and pillows. Well supplied bathrooms and kitchen. Dishwasher is awkwardly placed far from sink making you drip water across floor to load, but not a dealbreaker. Large kitchen island was a big hit! Perfect for jigsaw puzzles. Parking was interesting to say the least. Two cars were parked directly in front of our door so we were confused if we had the correct unit. Luckily the woman renting beside us came out and claimed them and told just to park wherever we could. Not enough room for 6 cars (plus her 2) for sure.
Our multi- family group was very comfortable for a week.
Home is comfy and well appointed / modern!
Plenty of space in and out!
My only concern would be the design is very open and thus we could hear each other very easily.
Overall great property.
We came for a girls golf trip and everyone loved the house. The house was very clean, all the beds were very comfortable, and the house was beautifully decorated. Great location-would highly recommend this house!!
This spot was great for a large family (though, noise carries so beware!). We had so much space and didn't feel like we were piled on top of each other! The space itself was beautiful and clean and a perfect spot to lounge. The location is right near the entrance of Peninsula State Park and within a 25 minute drive of other areas like Whitefish Dunes and Cave Point. Communication with the host was easy and we resolved a broken coffee maker within one hour! Amazing. Would definitely book again.
This was a great spot for our large group of varying ages! We were in town for the run and this house is super close to peninsula state park and near the shuttle services into and out of the park.
There are two fridges which was great for all the food we brought in, and lots of space to dine and lots of cooking utensils for us to make dinner.
Yes, the layout is different and sound does carry - we found all the kids were fine with their sound machines - Iâd maybe recommend portable curtains if your kids (like mine) normally sleep in a very dark room - we brought ours and all our kids slept pretty well!
The big complaintâŠâŠa worthless coffee pot. It needs to be put in the dumpster. It took so long to brew a pot, that both mornings, we had to get 8 cups of coffee at the coffee shop.
For the price, check out at 10âŠ..seemed way too early.
The home was lovely and rendered itself perfect for families.
The property was very spacious and a great spot to accommodate our group.
As noted in the listing, noise does travel throughout the house, we found the lower bedrooms to be louder than the upstairs.
Overall, it was a great spot and we would book again.
Our first two nights I had my kids and two grandchildren with me. Two nights for my daughterâs bachelorette party and the last night was a relaxation day. House was perfect for a large group of people.
Overall the space /size of the house was as expected and perfect for our family. We were disappointed in the cleanliness of the house. The bathroom floors had hair on. We needed to wash all the dishes before we used them. The grill was awful and there were cobwebs hanging all over the house. Also it was uncomfortable having the workers and trucks/landscapers walking around our house all day while working on the house directly behind us. The inner door of the washer was moldy. Also the patio door blinds in one downstairs bedroom are missing and broken. The shower heads all need to be cleaned. The first day we did ask for more firewood and that issue was resolved the next day. For the price we paid including a large cleaning fee, we were very disappointed. We didnât reach out at that point because we wanted to focus on our vacation. We certainly left the house cleaner than when we arrived. We hope you take our feedback and pay more attention to cleanliness
Troy and I both grew up in a small town just outside of Green Bay. Currently we live in Wrightstown, WI. Together we have three young children. We do own several monthly home rentals in the Green Bay and surrounding area. Fish Creek is where we built our first vacation home rental in 2012.
Door County is a favorite vacation spot in Wisconsin! We have brought our children to Fish Creek many times and we all enjoy everything about Fish Creek. There are so many fun activities to do from Camping in Peninsula State park, unique shops and fantastic restaurants.
One of the best features of our home is its location. It is so close to the restaurants and shopping, yet the home is very private. It is uniquely decorated with a beach theme that includes a canoe hanging from the ceiling! A lot of thought and a few pinterest ideas were put into this one of a kind home. Got kids coming along? This home even has a small play area just for kids! The kids can keep busy playing traditional boards games while the adults socialize on the main level at the large custom island that seats 11 people! This house is a must see. It is perfect for extended families.
