Thank you for your detailed feedback. We’re pleased you enjoyed the property and the excellent service provided by our property manager. To clarify a few points for future guests: the Trullo has more air conditioning units than mentioned in your review. Their locations are clearly shown on the floor plan within the property description. Regarding the shower heads, these were checked by our cleaning team before your arrival and were fully functional. During your stay they became damaged, and we replaced them the same day at no charge. On your arrival, we explained that there were two pool umbrellas: one fully functional and one that had been damaged by previous guests. We also advised that a repair had been arranged for the following day. However, when our technician arrived, he found that the umbrella had been disassembled, making an immediate repair impossible. Waste disposal follows the collection system required by our local council. This was explained on arrival and is also detailed in the house book. We are sorry if the process remained unclear despite these instructions. We do not expect guests to clean the property. We simply ask that items which have been used, such as the barbecue, are left in a reasonably clean condition, and we provide the necessary cleaning materials to make this easy. Likewise, we ask guests not to leave food in the refrigerator at departure, with food waste placed in the appropriate waste bins in the same room. Finally, we are unsure what you meant by "a bit of nickel and diming." Your rental was fully inclusive of utilities, Wi-Fi, bed linen, bath towels, pool towels and the final clean, and no additional charges were made during your stay. Although additional towels are not normally included, we were pleased to provide these free of charge when requested. We genuinely appreciate your recommendation to larger groups and are delighted that, overall, you enjoyed your stay.

Dear Jason and Melanie, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I am sorry that it was not a positive one, and I sincerely regret any negative feelings you may have experienced. We want to make sure all our guests have a relaxing, enjoyable time at Trullove. We rent our villa since 2014, we had 24 very positive reviews, never a negative one! We were delighted to learn that both the villa, its location and the pool have been to your satisfaction. But you complain of the fact that most of the shine was taken off by imperfect communications/arrangements with owners/managers. The thing is that prior to your arrival we had to send you three reminders as we did not get any response to our proposals for rooms occupation. And as to the communications skills of our manager it may suffice to quote from a review by Derek Rippe, a lovely tenant who rented the villa a week before you and who was extremely delighted about the way he was being treated during his stay : “The property owners were exceptionally warm and helpful in arranging our stay in the days leading up to the trip and their complimentary gifts of wine and local guides were as thoughtful as they were classy. I would also like to mention the property manager Lucia who was exceptional in her communications to the group and in making our stay comfortable. She is one in a million! Our stay at this property could truly not have been more magical and the memories we made that week will definitely have us making this an annual holiday! Thank you so much for having us!” We apologize for the fact that the barbecue was not immediately available the day you arrived and understand how this would be upsetting. But know that this situation was an exception and that we did everything possible to remedy this. The barbecue had apparently been broken by the previous tenants. That is the reason why we ask our customers for a security deposit that would be withheld for any damages incurred during their stay. The previous tenants did not tell us about the broken barbecue. As shops were closed because of Ferragosto, a public holiday celebrated on August 15th in all of Italy. Nonetheless, immediately, the day after we found out the BBQ was broken (so, not quite a struggle!!!!) the house manageress managed to get a brand-new barbecue for you from a befriended retailer of hers who exceptionally opened his shop and sold us a new barbecue. As to the umbrellas : they were checked before your arrival and the table tennis bats and net had been replaced by new ones end of June. You also refer to apparently unsafe “edging” near the pool. We assume that you refer to a small broken segment of 5 cm of the border stones covering the water discharge of the infinity pool. Five centimeter out of a total border stone circumference of 52 meter that made you feel unsafe and spoilt your enjoyment!!!! Truly, Jason and Melanie, I can’t shake off the feeling that your complaints are rather unfair and prejudicial. This stone has been replaced the week after Ferragosto. Although your party left the house in a very dirty state (the cleaning ladies had to clean an extra 2 hours after your departure), we immediately paid back the full amount of the security deposit of 1500 euros. We can’t help if your bank withheld 80 euros from the transfer. This is beyond our control. Blame on Boris Johnson or on Brexit, not on us. Additional deposits, NO, there were no additional deposits. The security deposit is paid partly to VRBO and partly to us. On the voucher that you signed and sent back to us it it clearly indicates that we ask a small deposit for the garbage and the bbq. If you bring the garbage yourself to the container park and if you leave the bbq behind in a clean state, then you get these small deposits back. We paid these deposits back.

Dear Anders, We did agree on the extra charges for daily extra cleaning in advance. We could of course not foresee that it would take more than an hour every day. There was also so much garbage that i think it is only fair to pay a bit extra to the cleaning ladies when they remove your waste, normally you have to do it yourself.
