Beach cottage + patio & parking, 2 minutes walk to beach!
Our fisherman's cottage built in 1706 comes with stunning views of the sea which is only a minuteâs walk away! It has three double bedrooms, 1 king size, one double and a twin room with 2 single beds. THE TWIN ROOM IS SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN ONLY. A maximum of 4 adults, 6 people if the twin room is occupied by 2 children only. Parking Permit provided for use in the conveniently located, Fisherhead car park. Further permits available for council car parks from the post office. 1 well behaved dog.
Very well equipped cottage close to the beach and shops. Parking was convenient in a village that has only one very steep, narrow street and no parking in that area.
Absolutely perfect location (lots of steps but you donât go to RHB expecting anything else) and such a cute cottage. Everything you need provided and the room with the ship bed is just amazing if youâve got kids - such a wow factor. Beth is so easy to contact and a great host - super clear instructions too! Thank you for a brilliant stay, we had such a lovely time
Hi, I'm Beth! I own a small collection of holiday homes in York, Robin Hood's Bay and Whitby, and I am completely passionate about them, and the enjoyment of my guests. My family and I live in the countryside outside York and we have a dog called Tigger and three ducks, Genevieve, Duckie and Nugget. We are all happiest in the outdoors, particularly my rugby playing children, and we all love chocolate!
Green Bank House is located in the lower part of Robin Hood's Bay, down by the beach. Most of the houses in this part of village were built in the 1600's as fisherman's cottages. Our cottage has beamed ceilings, lovely original fireplace with log burner for ease, wooden flooring downstairs, and all of the character you would expect from a cottage of this age. The bedrooms on the first floor have cast iron fireplaces (display only) and beamed ceilings. Most of the cottages in Lower Bay are tiny and this one is unusually spacious and one of the larger houses in the old village. There are three good sized bedrooms and three bathrooms which is very unusual here, and there is a lovely feeling of space throughout the cottage. It is located just a minute's walk from the beach and of course has fabulous sea views, and whilst close to the lovely gift shops and cafes robin hood's bay has to offer, Fisherhead is a really lovely quiet location, and the cottage is very peaceful indeed. The views from the property are stunning and the second floor bedroom has wonderful views south down the beach to Ravenscar (from the boat bed) and straight out to sea looking east from the roll top bath. A real room with a view! This cottage was once owned by the famous artist Albert Wainwright who painted from the second floor bedroom windows. There is a patio to the rear and we have invested in new high end teak furniture and a new BBQ. Guests are also welcome to sit outside the front of the cottage where there are great views out to sea. We provide a permit for nearby Fisherhead car park which is by far the nearest car park to the cottage just around the corner.
Our cottage is bursting with unique benefits! From the fabulous boat bed on the second floor, complete with Smart TV on the mast, below deck storage and a helm. Guests can lie in bed and look out of the window, south down the beach to the cliffs at Ravenscar and the sea colony below! Reclining in the roll top bath the views over the rooftops out to sea are spectacular! The artist Albert Wainwright who was a contemporary and close friend of Henry Moore owned the cottage in the middle of the last century and was known for painting watercolours of the village from here as well as of the rockpools from the beach. He lives on in the paintings by local artists which we have bought. The rooms in this cottage are significantly larger than those typically found in Robin Hood's Bay, most of which are really very small indeed, and this is a more relaxing and calm space to enjoy your time at the coast. You will have a wonderful stay here!
