Tyg Cottage

Welcome to Tyg Cottage. This lovely row house is perfect for that romantic getaway set in the village of Grewelthorpe, just 4 miles from Masham. The village is the quintessential of what a Yorkshire village should be, with a large duck pond in the center surrounded by grassed and flowered areas. From your cottage door, there are wonderful walks to the very popular, ancient Hackfall Woods, great for that early morning walk with the dogs.



Grewelthorpe is also home to the Himalayan Garden and Sculpture Park that has many visitors each year. Grewelthorpe lies between the unspoiled market town of Masham, 4 miles away, and the historic city of Ripon, 7 miles. Also easily accessible by car is the popular spa town of Harrogate and Pateley Bridge, a previous winner of the 'High Street of the Year'. Other very popular local attractions include stunning Brimham Rocks, Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal World Heritage Site, the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors National Parks, Ripley Castle, breweries in Masham and endless scenic views. Slightly further afield is the North Yorkshire coastline and the fascinating city of York.



The bar next door, The Crown Inn, is open 7 days a week and serves delicious food. Reserving a table is advised beforehand.



One small, well-behaved dog is welcome at this home.

I loved this place! It was perfect for what I had planned to do in North Yorkshire. Lots of things to do within short distances, quiet and private. It was clean and tidy, an absolute little gem. I’d certainly request to stay again. Highly recommend!

Although wasent in the cottage much as out all day most days,found the tv a bit confusing only seem to get certain things on it and no freeview channels at all.

Tyg Cottage was the perfect place for me to stay.

I felt at home here, the cottage was cosy and modern. It was easy to find and quite central to all the places I wanted to visit. Grewelthorpe is a lovely village and it has a friendly community, it was great to have the pub close by, the food was very good and the landlord, landlady and staff were very welcoming.

A beautiful location and very central to all the must-see spots in that part of Yorkshire.

The property was clean and tidy, and warmly decorated, and the letters responded kindly and promptly to a couple of our questions. Overall, it was a wonderful holiday and Tyg Cottage was a good base to visit all the nooks and crannies of the Dales.

Great walks on our doorstep in Hackfall Woods, ideally located for our trips to York, Ripon, Harrogate and Knaresborough plus all the amazing countryside that North Yorkshire has to offer. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

A lovely cosy property situated in fabulous countryside and easy reach to Ripon and places of interest. The property benefited from a large car park which was empty due to the village pub currently being unoccupied. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and must thank the hosts for providing all mod cons plus some welcome essentials such as milk to kick things off perfectly!
