I was unable to address these issues while we were in Malta. I wanted to send them to you first out of courtesy. I also would like to request a refund as I even looked for an alternative place to stay; since there were multiple issues that I felt were misleading in the listing for the flat. We have stayed in Malta multiple times; this was our first time using VRBO there and it was the worst experience we had.When I made the initial booking I communicated with the owner, Maria; that I was flying with both my parents, 3 teenagers, my husband and I. I did this to ensure we could all be accommodated. I sent a message prior to leaving the US with our arrival time of 11:50 am as requested by Maria. Upon arriving in Malta, I notified her that we had arrived and requested an early check in if available. She responded stating that it would be fine if they were done cleaning, and she would let us know. At 4:00 (the normal check in time, which was acceptable); I received a text that the flat was ready. We all walked with all of our luggage to the flat; as we had waited nearby. When we got there, a man was entering the building, stated that he was the owner and that the flat was not ready. We walked into the flat where there was another man cleaning a huge puddle of water across the kitchen by the door. He explained that they had to defrost the fridge, that the previous tenant made a mess and he was still cleaning. They said we could leave our bags and come back later. This
