The charming apartment 'Alfama 1' is in the Alfama district, the area still true in the heart of old Lisbon. Nice and cozy apartment (70m2) on the 4th floor, no elevator, suitable for 2 / 4 people, with a nice terrace and furnished with everything you need for a pleasent staying in Lisbon, completely renovated by ourself in 2013.
The charm of the attic, with parquet floors, beamed ceilings, elegant furnishings, simple and refined details. From each of these 6 windows you can see a surprising view, the river Tejo, the Pantheon and the rooftops of the city. There is a small terrace where to rest, eating and drinking a glass in a silence that makes you forget to be in the center in a European capital.
Sleeping room with a double bed. In the living room there is a sopha bed suitable for two people.

Apartment as expected, host was very accommodating for check-in, no noise at all, and location was perfect.Only issue was a mold smell but it was after extreme rains, so I'm assuming it's not normally an issue. I just have to mention it because we felt we had to avoid spending time in the room when possible.I've heard this can be common here.

Its lovely staying in the old part of Lisbon - the area is character filled with quaint narrow streets and local eateries. Set back from the road so very quiet Good for the fitness climbing the 4 flights of stairs each day

Awesome stay

Very nice house with awesome view. Fully equipped with everything you might need during your holiday. Perfect and strategic location for transport (5 min from St Apollonia station) and closed to the centre. Very easy check-in and checkout. Host very gentle and flexible

Perfect for a week in Lisbon.

Beautiful, lively neighborhood for our week stay in Lisbon. The location was close enough to walk to the city center during the day but quiet and calm in the evenings. Amazing view of the city from the terrace to boot. The stairs to the apartment are a bit of a workout but over all a great spot.

Great Location in Lisboa!

My husband and I stayed at this apartment in Lisbon and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect - in Old Town next to a metro line and the Parthenon. The flea market was also close by. The apartment was clean and the check-in process was simple. Maria was there to meet us, give us great restaurant recommendations and provide invaluable details on getting around Lisbon. Highly recommend the public transportation system! Overall a great stay!

A great stay!

We loved the apartment in Alfama--it had incredible views and it was in a great location. The neighbourhood and building are charming. It was a bit short on extra cutlery and glasses for three people (only one for each person). Not recommended for people with poor knees--the 90 stair climb was a bit challenging at the end of a long day :)

Stay in Alfama

We had a lovely stay in this apartment in the Alfama district. The apartment looks exactly like the online images. It’s a short walk to the subway and a reasonable walk to many attractions in Lisbon. We needed to leave our luggage a little bit later because of the time of our train and the hosts were very accommodating! There was a great guidebook with helpful tips in the apartment. The air conditions worked well and the view La from the terrace were awesome!

just beautiful

Best location to discover the city and one of the most interesting areas of Lisbon, Alfama being the heart of Fado. Also close to the ferryboats to cross the river for nice fish restaurants. The flat ist very quiet, very well organized and the stairs up to the 4th flloor are a good preparation for walking in up-and-down Lisboa. Not to miss is the Museum Gulbenkian with an extraordinary collection of art of all times! Very precious and easy to go by Metro. We will come back!

Enjoyable Time

Had a great experience in Lisbon staying at this comfortable and well located property. Quiet and private! The patio is really nice to have, Close to so many things. The stairs are steep so don’t disregard that if you have any knee issues or whatever going up 90 ish stairs to get up to the front door. No problem for me, but it could be for those not fit for it :-)

Perfect Alfama apartment

Great Alfama apartment just off a popular thoroughfare. Amazing views, nice open floor layout with modern touches. Quiet but close to everything. Susanna and Maria communicated well and often/ as needed. As other reviews mention, it's a bit of a climb to the 4th floor. But let's be honest, if you want to stay in and explore Alfama you'll be doing a lot more climbing than 4 flights of stairs! The district and the apartment are worth every step.

Wonderful Stay

We throughly enjoy our stay in the attic apartment in Alfama neighbourhood. Great views and balcony. Felt right at home. We visited early March and would get a little cold when returning from a long day walking around the city but the heaters in each room quickly fixed that so it wasn’t a problem. I would not recommend this location for anyone that has a hard time walking for the stairs are many and very steep. But if you can manage it is totally worth the effort.

Away in Alfama

We stayed here with our two kids. We have a 15 year old and a 4 year old. The apartment was gorgeous! It felt like a perfect combo of old and new. The location is amazing…it cannot be beat. The apartment is a HIKE up some stairs but it made it easy to justify the pastries and wine :) The check in process was good. I loved having access to a Washing machine especially when travelling with kids. I’d highly recommend!

Wonderful place but had an issue with on going construction on our roof and next door. In all fairness, they did reimburse us for 2days for our troubles. Maria was incredibly responsive and apologetic for the issues so that was appreciated. As this was only a temporary situation I would highly recommend the space. Perfect area in Lisboa. But be aware it is four flights up and the area is quite hilly so if you have weak knees…

Great location in an authentic and unique space

My family and I felt like were transported back in time and enjoyed the authentic and unique experience. The location was very convenient near the fado bars, restaurants, metro and bus lines. The old-world charm of the apartment added to the experience. We really didn't mind the 91 steps to the top as we were rewarded with a nice breeze and stunning views. The place has amazing character. There are minor aspects we overlooked like navigating around a lower ceiling when entering one side of the bed, a tight shower and a smaller bathroom. Overall, we felt these aspects were manageable as we were rewarded with the feeling of being transported to old world Lisbon.

Very nice

The property is very clean, there are several beautiful but limited views. The four flights of stairs can be challenging if you are not in relatively decent shape but I enjoyed the breeze and being high in the building. While being deep in Alfama and surrounded by others it is surprisingly quiet. I do think you could sleep with the windows open. It is close to the Apolonia train station but is a decent walk to many attractions. I did not mind this as I enjoyed the journeys to and from. I never met Maria in person but she was very responsive via text. I would have enjoyed meeting her briefly but this may not be important to others. Also I enjoy being able to talk with someone regarding hidden gems so feel like that was a miss. Overall very enjoyable location and space.

Nice location in A traditionnal alfama appartment

The appartment is very central easy to walk through alfama. You are 10mn walk from nive mirador. The little terrace is a real plus. The bathroom is tiny with a very large window. You take your shower admiring the pantheon ! Located on the 4th floor with no elevator its a bit of sport but its worth it. Maria has been helpfull and made our stay as comfortable as possible. She was reactive when we had a light problem. I did not check before (my fault) but there was no washing machine. By chance there is a washing shop 3mn walk with easy options for 6€. Also there is no real supermarket around (only little shops open 24h wich are very expensive). Its easy to reach larger supermaket like pingo dolce by metro (station santa apolonia located 5mn walk) or buses. The appartment is located in a narrow street with no cars but its a bit noisy on the week end with surrounding flat rented by tourist for parties ! Not a big problem anyway as Alfama is very lively anyhow. We advised maria that 2 extra chairs + a larger table outside would be great as well as a bit more forks/ knives and glasses (a bit short for 4 adults). She promised to work on these points. In the overall I would recommand this place. Possibly more for spring or automn as Im afraid it could be too hot or too cold in seasons.

Beau petit appartement bien équipé, situé dans le village de Bensafrim un peu en retrait de l’agitation de la côte qui reste facilement accessible en voiture. Communication efficace et procédure d’arrivée simple à distance. Petit supermarché à 2 pas.Petite terrasse agréable pour prendre le petit déjeuner ou le dîner.

Très bien situé, sécuritaire avec double porte barrée

Très bonne communication. Petit balcon avec belle vue, la première journée our nous, sur un magnifique bateau de croisière ! Plusieurs marches à monter mais très calme une fois la haut. Situé dans une petit impasse en bout de rue. C'était très bien !

Appartement propre mais équipements pas très qualitatif (sdb exiguë, porte de cuisine en contreplaqué peint, chambre avec sous pente...) Parfait

Ce petit appartement est très bien placé pour visiter Lisbonne. L’hôtesse est très réactive pour répondre au moindre souci. Si l’appartement se situe au 4ème sans ascenseur s’est pour mieux s’entraîner aux pentes de Lisbonne et pour avoir une magnifique vue de la terrasse sur le panthéon et le Tage!
