We've just come back from 2 weeks in Villa Iris - I thought it might be useful for me to share some thoughts!
Villa Iris is (virtually) brand new, but it's had sufficient care shown to it for it not to betray some typical new-build issues - everything is finished, and works!
Zerveas Villas (five of them) are set on the hillside above Stoupa, with the type of views you might expect form the pictures. Sunsets, in particular, are majestic. Villa Iris is set below the other four villas, and hence has pretty well uninterrupted views all the way down to the coast. It's something special to relax in (or by) the pool while looking out to the west - the photos, I can assure you, are a fair reflection.
There are a number of design features that merit comment:
a) despite sitting below the other villas, there's no suggestion of being overlooked. You can sunbathe, swim and eat in complete privacy, as the body of the villa shields you from prying eyes.
b) the third bedroom is part of a separate suite, and includes its own mini-kitchen, bathroom and veranda. Our 13-year old daughter took up residence here, and it gave her a degree of privacy without being completely isolated from the rest of us. You can, should you so wish, lock the adjoining door and use a separate front door, turning the suite into it's own self-contained 'flat'. Very clever, and flexible.
c) each bedroom, plus the main living area, has its own air conditioning unit. Our previous experience of AC is that it's either noisy or temperamental, but these units worked very well whilst being virtually silent. Makes for a restful night's sleep!
The Wi-Fi connection was compromised somewhat by a huge electrical storm that passed through, but once fixed it worked well (the absence for a couple of days of proper connectivity was a blessing!)
The cleaners come once every three days, so we had four visits during our stay. Unobtrusive and effective.
The pool was immaculate, and cleaned numerous times during the stay. It's big enough to work as a proper pool - I regularly used an extended swim as a means to work off the effects of excessive food and drink!
Manoeuvering the car in and out is a bit tight, but fairly easy once you get used to it. We rented a Ford Focus, for which there was plenty of room. (nb on the subject of car rental, I wouldn't recommend the use of Enterprise in Kalamata Airport....)
A good value holiday in a truly luxurious and first-class villa!
