The Cottage at Greystoke is a beautifully appointed, cosy home from home in the small village of Greystoke, and an ideal base from which to explore the Lake District National Park. The cottage perfectly mixes the characterful features with contemporary styling and modern fixtures and fittings in order to create a fabulous destination no matter your reason to stay.
The cottage sleeps four people in two double bedrooms and there is ample on road parking.
Walking in through the handy porch area, the wooden beams against the white ceiling leads to the cottage feel, guests are greeted by the inviting living room sharing a small dining area. The fireplace and functional log burner makes for a cosy evening whilst relaxing on either of the sofas, further entertainment can be found on the smart TV, whilst WiFi is also provided.
The kitchen sits to the rear of the cottage and is well stocked with all the appliances one would require to rustle up a meal, yet The Boot & Shoe Inn is but round the corner if you wish to be dined. Up the staircase are the two bedrooms and family bathroom. The master bedroom has a double sized bed and quiet street views. The family bathroom has a shower and bath so guests can have an invigorating shower or enjoy a long soak to unwind while on holiday.

Our stay at the cottage was lovely! The interior and style of the cottage added to the feel of a cot
Our stay at the cottage was lovely! The interior and style of the cottage added to the feel of a cottage stay with the exposed beams and log burner! 20 second walk to the pub after a long day working was a godsend too! The lounge was spacious and has a great tv for watching the what you want. A good amount of appliances in the kitchen for cooking and cleaning. The bedrooms are large and the beds are very comfortable! A nice size bathroom with a decent shower and always a hot water supply for a bath. As the other comments have said, having to take the rubbish with you to a recycling centre is a tad tedious, but only 5 minutes away and easy to access. Overall itâs a great place to stay for a peaceful getaway with easy access to all local hotspots!
Quiet ideal spot to explore all the area has to offer. Typical compact terrace house with all necessary amenities except for laundry facilities. Pub just around the corner very convenient ! Lovely stay.
We had a nice time here over Christmas and new year
We had a nice time here over Christmas and new year. The living space is spacious but still feels cosy and the bedrooms and comfortable. To make it a better place to stay for over a week, a washing machine would be a useful addition. It was also inconvenient to have to drive our rubbish to the tip instead of there being an outdoor large bin.
Beautiful little cottage with everything you need so relaxing
Beautiful little cottage with everything you need so relaxing. We took our two dogs had a lovely birthday day cooking in the kitchen with the lovely cosy log burner glowing away. Really enjoyed our meal at the local pub on our first night đ X
Nothing, was all so lovely. Only thing missing maybe is a back garden but the walks in the village are so lovely and make up for that. â€ïž
A cosy cottage at the heart of Edenâs best kept large village
Location in the village, a short walk from Quirky Workshops - a course there was the main purpose of our stay. The village pub is close by, with excellent food. The post office opposite was available for daily papers ans food essentials. The cottage was clean, comfortable and furnished to a high standard. T V and a log burner made it a cosy hideaway for an autumn break. Prompt attention to radiators reported faulty.
There was no access to the garden so I wouldnât want to stay there in summer. There was only enough fuel for the first night. Had we known we could have brought logs with us. Itâs difficult to please everyone in terms of equipping a kitchen, but we would have appreciated a tea strainer and egg cups, a cover for food in the microwave
I work for a holiday let maintenance company and the standards are exceptionally high, staying in this cottage it was clear their standards were not. Cobwebs at the sides of the eextractor fan and inside the kitchen cupboards, dust on skirting boards, pictures etc. Advertised as pet friendly yet nowhere for our dog to go to the toilet safely at night time due to no garden.
We were charged extra as the dishwasher cycle went over its 2 hours and wasn't ffinished before checkout even though it was put on in plenty of time. Charged for the owner to put a few clean dishes away! Also charged due to my partner having a skin condition and a slight bit of blood overspilled onto the duvet cover. No recognition for stripping all beds in preparation for the cleaning team to attend.
Extremely poor reception from the owner as only 2 towels were left for us rather than 3 as there were 3 of us staying (plus the dog!), seemed put out she had to come and fix a mistake she had made with towels.
Even more disappointed with the agency dealing with her bookings for her as i have emailed regarding being charged for her putting clean dishes away when it clearly states a charge will be made should there be DIRTY dishes as they would need to be washed up.
As mentioned earlier, i work for a holiday let maintenance company and these are standard things that are not charged for. Seems like they're in it for a quick buck at the end of your stay.
Would NOT recommend!!!
