Conveniently situated in the charming town of Mytholmroyd in Bronte country, Tedâs House is a deceptively spacious and welcoming end of terrace house, the childhood home of the former Poet Laureate, Ted Hughes. Hughes lived here until the age of seven with his older brother and sister. Before his death in 1998 he said "My first seven years shaped everything". Camping trips with his elder brother in the rolling moors and countryside is said to have significantly influenced his poetry, making this the ideal holiday home for budding writers or Hughesâ fans to draw inspiration from the area.
Beautifully designed and furnished by an interior designer, the house has been fully renovated to incorporate a beautiful bathroom and a further en-suite shower room, making it perfect for couples sharing. The owner has thoughtfully provided a desk in Tedâs former second floor bedroom - the perfect spot to return to after exploring the area. There is a small cellar which is suitable for the storage of bikes, boots etc. There is a ginnel to the rear of the property (i.e. access for bikes), and on street parking on a first come, first served basis to the front and side of the property for 2 cars.
Families or couples only.
Holidaymakers only.
*** Please note the cot provided cannot be moved from bedrom 2 ***
