Lakeside Retreat - a meadow lodge that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

Lakeside Lodge is situated on the new Meadows Development, a beautiful location with deck facing one of the lakes with ducks and other wildfowl.

Enter through the side door into the hallway. To the left is the living space, with corner kitchen with all the appliances you need including a Lavazza coffee machine. There's a round dining table for 4, and further living space. The living area, with long sofa, armchair, coffee table, log burner, 50 inch smart TV and DVD player, with bifold doors and electric blinds.

The large bifold doors open onto the enclosed deck with 2 sofas, ideal for watching the local wildlife or relaxing with a drink.

Down the hallway, there are two bedrooms. The main bedroom has a kingsize bed, large smart TV and ensuite shower room, and the second bedroom has a twin room (can also be made up as double on request), with ensuite shower room. Both have oscillating fans and Alexa bluetooth speakers too.

The lodge benefits from its own parking bay with dedicated EV charger which guests are welcome to use for a fee (40p per kwh).

This property has a path to the entrance door which makes it accessible for those with mobility issues. However, please note we do not have grab rails in the bathrooms (please see photos.)

Please be aware the Meadows road is currently awaiting resurfacing - there are a number of potholes at present.

Lovely lodge and location

Looking forward to be able to book and return. The lodge was very clean and well equipped to a high standard. Relaxing quite location but short walk to the centre.

Perfect winter break

Firstly I was impressed with the site itself, it is huge, well laid out and immaculately kept. There are good amenities, like the pub, the leisure facility and the pub! The lodge was absolutely beautiful, it was spotlessly clean and well maintained. It was so lovely to sit out on the deck and watch the birds coming and going- it was such a picturesque view. The lodge was well equipped: TVs, log burner, washer/dryer, kitchen equipment. The bedrooms were well laid out, beds are super comfortable! It is very secure, i felt very safe, especially seeing the security man driving all around the site making sure that everything was as it should be. It is about 10 minutes walk from the beach, which is a really lovely spot. Not far from Hunmanby, Filey and Bridlington. My dogs absolutely loved it all too! My stay was so peaceful and quiet- perfect for a cosy winter break! I will definitely be back!

Great well equipped cabi I am fantastic location

Second time this year we have stayed in the wonderful cabin, well equipped with everything and more to help you enjoy your holiday. Grat location on the lake, no far from the amenities and the beach. Spotless and well maintained We will be booking for later in the year

Another lovely stay

We keep coming back to Lakeside Retreat as we find it ticks all the boxes for us. We like the location it’s very peaceful and it’s lovely to sit out and watch the various wild life that are in and on the Lake. It’s perfect for our dog as he likes the Meadow around the Lake for his walks. The Retreat is spacious and clean with everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Great lakeside retreat.

Weekend stay

Nice accommodation with a lovely view over the lake. Beds very soft so made for an uncomfortable nights sleep ( this seems to be the norm in holiday accommodation) Good facilities on site.

Lovely

Absolutely love the view love this lodge stayed last year you pay a bit more than other lodges (we've stayed in a few) but well worth it! Always book with filey Bay Direct never had a problem! Paula is fantastic if you have any problems always an automated email who to contact! Love feeding the ducks! We will definitely be back! Also dog friendly and ours used to love The Bay wherever we stayed! (Unfortunately not with us anymore, but we've still gone back!)

Wonderful stay

We booked a last minute stay during the February half term and what. Wonderful couple of days we had. The lodge was stunning clean, tidy and smelt like you were walking into a Disney hotel! Kitchen was fully equipped for cooking and the bedrooms had more than enough pillows and comfy beds. We used the swimming facilities which were great and even managed a walk along the beach. Can highly recommend booking a stay

Long Weekend stay at Lakeside Retrewt

We are a family of 4 plus 2 non shedding dogs and stayed for four nights at the Lakeside Retreat. Lovely lodge, very clean, lovely touches and great communication with the booking agent. One or two extra items such as kitchen sponge and hooks in the en-suite to hang dressing gowns would be useful. Will definitely return.

Another superb stay

We stayed in Lakeside Retreat in late summer and thoroughly enjoyed it. Even though the weather wasn’t as good we have enjoyed another excellent stay. It’s cosy and warm, we had the wood burning stove on which made it feel lovely. We had good communications from Paula and helpful advice numbers should we have needed them. It’s definitely a place to enjoy anytime of the year.

Lovely Lakeside Accommodation

We chose the Lakeside Retreat after staying in a similar property and we were amazed at how lovely it is. The style and layout of the place suits our needs and the view of the lake is lovely. The property is finished to a high specification and equipped with everything you need. We were going around saying oh it’s got one of these ! Nothing has been skipped to make the stay perfect in every way. The location is perfect as we have a small dog. The meadow has walking trails cut in so you can have a good walk and exercise your pet. The area is very secure with electric gates for access and departure to the main site. All amenities and the beach are a short walk away. We felt at one with nature and it’s lovely and peaceful. We can’t fault it.

Resent stay at the lakeside retreat

What a beautiful property. Top spec appliances. Massive TV’s in living area and bedroom. Lives up to its name Lakeside peaceful stunning views and Retreat to re charge, feeling of refreshed and energised. This was our 4th stay at the bay and looking forward to next year and will defiantly be re booking this property. Top marks from Eddie the cockerpoo. He didn’t even bark at the birds and loved the decking. Enclosed and save.

Lodge was excellent and the location. Cleanliness was poor as still had dog hairs in the living room floor when we entered in the lodge. Smell of mould in the bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms. Plug in air fresheners needed to freshen the place up.

Fabulous lodge with a great setting

The lodge has an amazing setting. We arrived and the sun was shining. The weather was perfect and we made use of the lovely outside furniture and decking. There was even a water feature. It was well equipped and very clean. The lodge was short of nothing, even dog bowls. Nice touches with the Alexa and bedroom fans. This was our second visit to The Bay this year and it did not disappoint. The bed in the main bedroom was a little too soft for us, but other than that it was perfect.

Everything was amazing.

Stayed for 6 nights at the Lakeside Retreat. Everything was amazing, the lodge was spotless, clean and tidy. The views over the lake were lovely and the location was perfect with gorgeous views and easy access to all amenities. Beds were comfy and we all had a fab holiday. Thank you. We will definitely book again

Fabulous lodge in a peaceful setting

The lodge (Lakeside Retreat) was absolutely immaculate. It exceeded all my expectations with every single item and accessory you could wish for, and more. We were all hugely impressed by the quality of the furniture, linens, the sound system, fans, utensils and even accessories such as candles and diffusers which were all expensive brands. Fabulous addition of everything we could ever need for our dog too which was a super surprise. The best location on the lake and even included a huge box of outdoor play equipment and a trolley to take to the beach! I would not hesitate to return. Thank you for a wonderful break

Lakeside retreat

Enjoyed a lovely few days at lakeside retreat. beautiful lodge,very comfortable,well equipped and gorgeous setting.Great communication throughout our stay.Would definitely recommend. Cant wait to return again.

Lake view lodge

Peaceful location and lovely view but with price of property expected a bit more comfort . Pillows in main bedroom were poor quality ,expected a bit more of a welcome pack ,no bath mat to step out onto in shower room ,could do with a lamp in room instead of big ceiling lights .But where the lodge was situated was beautiful.

Had a fantastic stay at Lakeside Retreat

Immaculately clean, comfortable and spacious - so relaxing and gorgeous view across the lake. Handy for the beach and the dogs loved it too. When we had a problem with the electric, Paula was on hand to help and was great. This is our happy place and we will definitely book again, only sorry we couldn’t stay longer!
