The location & serenity of the property is lovely. The amenities supplied were fine. However, the cleanliness of the property was lacking. On arrival it was obvious that the two mats on the kitchen floor hadn’t been vacuumed. Spiders & cobwebs around the fireplace in the dining area had been there for a while. The hood above the cooker hadn’t been cleaned for months, dust mixed with grease. No evidence of toilets having been bleached, or any kind of cleaning solution applied. The final disgusting discovery was a previous guests disguarded, used tissues tucked down on the floor behind the headboard end of the bed! The nature of which, we’d rather not know! Dust & debris gathered also suggests that no vacuum had been used in this area for a long time. Vacuum had been flicked over accessible areas, but nothing moved to clean properly. This is not a standard of cleaning I have ever experienced before in a holiday rental & not acceptable for the rental fee paid! Having been asked on a note, at the end of the rental period, to remove the bed linen but “leave the mattress & pillow protectors in place” we did so only to find that there weren’t any, which in a high turnover rental isn’t acceptable.
