À propos de cet hébergement
2 Bed apartment on the Dordogne River
Nestled on the banks of the Dordogne river, a beautiful house comprised of two separate, self-contained apartments. You will have the entire ground floor of the house, including access to the grounds overlooking the river itself and a swimming pool.
When arriving at the property, you are met by a winding driveway, leading you down to the rear of the property where you can park.
Your host will be waiting to greet you and show you around the property and garden, and will be available to you during your stay should you need any information or assistance.
Walking past the swimming pool you will enter the property into the kitchen area, you will find a welcome pack containing information about the house and the surrounding area, and a welcome hamper with delicious food and wine to help you unwind and settle in. The kitchen is fully equipped for all your cooking needs.
You will then move into the dining area where you can enjoy a meal at anytime of the day, followed by the lounge area, which includes a wood burner and a TV for your enjoyment. You can enjoy access and views of the garden and river from here. This room has beautiful exposed brick work.
Moving into the master bedroom, you will be met by an idyllic seating area from which you can enjoy a view of the river and grounds. The bedroom has a double bed and includes a work-space area. From here you have access a bathroom and also the second bedroom, where there are two single beds and direct access to the garden and views of the river. The bathroom can be accessed from both bedrooms independently.
The large garden provides a tranquil setting for many outdoor activities such as yoga, meditation, reading, painting, garden games etc. and has a dining space with shade if needed, in addition to sun-beds in which to bask in the warm sunshine; weather consistent with this region of the south-west. You can walk around the garden and enjoy the fabulous old trees, walk through the mini orchard where an old barn can be seen, or you can exit the garden directly onto the river bank and enjoy everything Mother Nature has to offer.
The river is fast flowing and contains an abundance of fish and wildlife. The birds sing beautifully throughout the day and if you listen carefully you may also hear the frogs singing together at the right time of the year. Choose a direction to take and enjoy a mindful walk along the river where you can take photos, paddle, paint, forage or just be still. Why not prepare a picnic and venture out and be at one with your surroundings!
On the opposite side of the river is the local village; you will find a bike, kayak, canoe and paddle board centre where you can hire or book guided sessions. A pop-up restaurant on the opposite bank is a fun place to eat out, and, for a more fine dining experience, there is a wonderful restaurant not 2 minutes walk away where you can eat fabulous locally and seasonally sourced food, oh, and don't forget to enjoy some of the most amazing regional wine!
Whether you are on holiday to simply relax, or, are looking for a base from which you can explore, this property is truly idyllic, and we hope you enjoy your stay and all that it is has to offer. X
