I am so glad you enjoyed the house and I’m so glad that you found it that it was very clean. Safe trip back to New Jersey.

We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay at the lake house. It is truly a pleasure to entertain people like you who enjoy their vacation in such a serene place.

We are sorry that you found this to be a nuisance. We were very upfront with the two items that were still under remodel, hence you received a very discounted rate ahead of time to compensate which was $60-$80 discount per night,When you book the property, it was noted in the description of the remodel, bathroom and deck. You also booked within three weeks of your travel, and if you did not agree to the accommodations and remodel, you could’ve always stayed in a hotel nearby. The home was impeccably clean, the main floor which you resided on had been remolded for years and it gave you a beautiful view of the lake. It was not a danger zone as the deck partitioned off &was near completion . You had great use of the deck… with a dining table with four big chairs, & other benches available to sit on the deck. I know we discussed this in the inconvenience that you had to walk out the back door and around to the house to the lake rather than using deck steps but again you were OK with it when I message you. You had an issue with VRBO rates which you took up with them and was out of our control. I explained to you the VRBO fees and breakdown. My sincere apologies for not having the deck completely done…again you would have paid about $275 more for prime time fall rate and ultimately the choice was yours to stay, cancel with us or stay in a hotel while visiting family.

I disagree with many of your comments. The deck was partially completed enough to sit on. You were informed of remodeling new week before your arrival and you opted to rent aware of the condition and remodel. Also clothes were not strewn throughout the house— they were on the downstairs bed with the sheets of one load of sheets, a towel, and a bra which was an oversight to put away When you brought the attention of the oversights in my walker, we were there in five minutes to make the bed. We compensated you by giving you a $75 credit right away, rental of our pontoon boat for the day in a late check out the day of your departure. Your delay in check in resulted in you and your husband getting dinner and running a few errands. I agree that we were not ready at 4:00 PM but the home was ready by 5:30 PM. I’m truly sorry again for all the issues that you had, but we attempted to make them right before you opted to self check out.

We actually have had that mattress only three years and we even put a topper on it for the comfort of our guest last summer because it was super firm. We are so sorry that you did not sleep well. Our former Gus have indicated that they were comfortable with the king mattress as we had a former queen size bed in the master We are sorry that the showers are a bit cramped but the average adult seems to do OK. The upstairs bathroom is not for the taller folks but has the jetted tub. The downstairs shower was renovated three years ago and it’s a small bathroom so we can’t go much bigger, but again seems ample for folks even for taller individuals.
