The location was excellent for attending the wedding of my son at Southern Granary in September. We really did have the best option for location of all the guests who came into the area for the wedding. The cottage is listed as charming and historic. Perfect for people who are into that aesthetic. The weather was great during our stay, and most of us spent our time together on the front porch. For me, it was really in need of lots of updating and serious upgrades for the appliances and bedding (mattresses, pillows, and linens), and furniture. Understanding that the cleaning fee was minimal, it really was not up to my standards of cleanliness. Most of the family was fine with the stay, and it isnât my intention to be harsh. (Disclaimer: We are city residents, and typically stay in 4 star hotels when we travel). The host was great to work with and the price for the long weekend stay was a really good deal!
This beautiful home is just wonderful for my husband and friends this was wonderful experience. Most definitely will be staying at this house again best experience.
Excellent location for weddings at the southern granery. Easy access to town. Nice playground next door for littles. Host was easy to communicate with.
The location was great for our needs in Altavista. The decor is eclectic and has a nice vibe. Some minor maintenance and cleaning needs to be performed ( high levels of dust, broken blinds) to make the property truly reflect its potential.
We really enjoyed our stay at this home. We were in town for a wedding at Southern Granary and the location was perfect and so close to the venue. The owner was so easy to work with and immediately answered all my questions before, during, and as we were leaving.
Very convenient to a wedding We were attending at the Southern Granary. We wanted a place where family members could come from different states and visit while we were all in town for the wedding. Very nice, cozy home.
Had a great stay, Joseph was very accommodating. Be was also very easy to communicate with.
House was very comfortable and quiet. Beds were as good as any I've ever slept on. Would highly recommend, especially if 2 families traveling together.
I am a furniture designer and bought this home while a staff designer at The Lane Company. The company started in Altavista and corporate headquarters was only 5 minutes away. I moved out of town in the early 80"s but kept this home to rent. We recently completely updated every facet to become FRAZIER 102, a boutique bread and breakfast.
This home was built in 1900, and always had so much personality. It was my first home purchase, and I always kept it, figuring I would retire back to it one day. Developing into a boutique B and B was a logical next step in this process.
This home is especially effective for long stay guests, as you have full access to a full kitchen, dining room and living room! But the charm makes even short stays a memorable event!
