Spacious converted barn holiday accommodation in the Cotswolds - Bunt Barn

Bunt Barn is a spacious, characterful barn conversion, welcoming up to six guests across three king size bedrooms near Stow-on-the-Wold. Across the open plan ground floor, you'll find a country style kitchen/dining room, with french doors leading onto the patio, a bright and inviting living room where you can enjoy views across the large surrounding garden and a dedicated cloakroom/study. The holiday home is also bursting with character, from Cotswold stone walls to exposed wooden beams, making you feel very at home in the Cotswolds.

This three bedroom holiday cottage in Broadwell, near Stow-on-the-Wold is ideally situated for those looking to explore the heart of the Cotswolds and immerse themselves in the surrounding countryside. The accommodation is laid out as follows:

The Stow Horse Fair is held twice a year, typically on the Thursday closest to 12th May and the Thursday closest to 24th October, however, we would recommend checking the exact date ahead of placing your booking. This is a traditional fair for gypsies and travelling people to meet up and trade which dates back to 1476 when its Charter was granted. Stow is very busy for a day or two before and after each fair, and a number of shops, pubs and restaurants are closed. Whilst many visitors enjoy the colour and vibrancy associated with the fairs, other visitors prefer to avoid Stow on these dates

Our stay at Bunt Barn New Year 2026

The But Barn is in a fantastic location and centrally positioned in the village. The Barn is well equipped and has underfloor heating both upstairs and downstairs which made it very cosy. A good walk into Stow recommended but not for the elderly or infirm. The Fox pub in the village was just what you’d expect, log fire and great atmosphere and friendly. However we were not impressed with how dirty the barn was, it needs a deep clean and the windows and mirrors were smeary. Two of the main windows looking out from the lounge had blown. The taps in the bedroom with the en-suite needed tightening as the whole taps moved, the power to the shower head in the bath was poor and was hard to regulate the hot and cold, would be much better with a proper shower. The oven in the kitchen was digital and not very easy to work out, the instructions didn’t help much either. Some of the pots and pans had to be washed before use. If these small areas were addressed we may consider staying there again.

the location of the property was good and overall the facility was fine but not to the standard we have seen at other comparable cost venues in the area with notable points being - television sets that are small in size and not providing a picture that would be considered good - shower that whilst ok was not of a high quality cooker which wouldn't be seen as easy to operate or understand we left for home on the Sunday evening rather than stay over until Monday morning

Weekend break with family

A lovely weekend stay, good central location. Fabulous pub in the village. What 3 words directions not great unfortunately, definitely needs a sign post near the rd. lovely large barn, can’t really comment on all the amenities I. The barn as we ate out.

Cheltenham weekend.

Very nice house. Unfortunately a dirty roasting dish was found in the oven on the first night. Also i would question if you can park 3 cars in the drive, we had two and that was a challenge. Are dish washer tablets and shampoo supposed to be supplied?

Great location, very comfortable, loved the local pub The Fox 200 yards away

Very impressed with the comfort, furnishings, kitchen equipment, heating, location, lighting (lots of lamps). A lot of thought has gone into all of this and making guests feel most welcome. Two things which we didn't like are- No shower in the master bathroom. However we knew about this when we booked and decided we could tolerate it for 4 nights but we wouldn't want to do that again Size of the bed - way too small. Slept badly. Didn't realise the bed was so small when we booked. This would prevent me from re-booking. The master bedroom is very large so there is no reason to have such a small bed.

Fantastic Half-Term Stay at Bunt Barn

We had family in town visiting over the half-term and needed somewhere with space for kids to roam. Bunt Barn was perfect. There was plenty of space inside for the 6 of us (4 adults, 2 kids) and even more outside. The backyard was magical with all the apple trees and foliage and the location was absolutely perfect, quick walk to the main village green and the fantastic pub The Fox Inn. And perfectly situated for exploring the rest of the Cotswolds including Daylesford, Cotswolds Farm Bark, the Oddingtons and more. We also cooked breakfasts each morning and one lunch and the kitchen was spacious and well equipped. Our only areas for improvement were (1) cleanliness, there were definitely some areas for improvement there which is understandable given the size of the home; and (2) there is only one shower, the other bathroom has a bath. Something to consider when sharing with other couples/non-family. Otherwise we had a blast and will definitely be back!

Autumn in the Cotswolds

Beautiful property with lots of outside space. Plenty of off road parking. Cosy interior, underfloor heating very effective. Close to a very good pub for food, Stow on the Wold is a short walk away using Monarchs Way. Countryside so beautiful in the autumn. Only down side is it only has one shower, but has a bath. There were four of us staying so managed fine, with six adults sharing would have been problematic.

Great short stay in fabulous Barn

Stayed at the Barn with my family for a long weekend whilst attending a wedding in Stow. The barn was spacious, well appointed and perfect for the four of us. The location for us was excellent and an added bonus was the local pub the Fox, which was a short walk away - perfect!

Fantastic roomy barn conversion. Big bedrooms especially for a Cotswold rental. It had all the amenities we needed during our stay. Great central Cotswold location, in the lovely and quiet village of Broadwell, and with its own lovely grounds. Great spot to relax, enjoy our break and see the Cotswolds.

Another fabulous stay in Broadwell

We visit the Cotswolds every summer, and we always try to book Bunt Barn as our home away from home. Broadwell is beautiful and perfectly located, and we love the Fox Inn. The house itself is perfect: charming, furnished with all necessities, and comfortable (firm) beds. The garden is worth a special mention because it is large and very pretty. We read our books over tea on the terrace and play lawn boules. A gem!

Marvelous house

Beautiful, spacious house with a fantastic, peaceful garden. We even saw a young deer in it. The kitchen equipment was a bit sparse for 6 people. But it still was a great base for exploring the Cotswolds.

Relaxing weekend away

Lovely barn and village, had a nice relaxing weekend. The barn is big and plenty of room for a family or group with nice gardens to walk around and spend time in. The barn itself could do with a bit of re-decoration but also being an old barn means there will always be cracks and movement in places which can’t be helped! Could do with a better/ bigger shower, maybe a 2nd shower somewhere would be good. Very disappointed with the cleaning, they make a big point of you having to be out by 10am due to the large scale cleaning of the barn. But in reality all they do is “tidy up” and change the beds. Lots of cob webs, even in lower easy places to reach, dust and hair balls on carpets in bedrooms. We all made the comment that “it’s lovely place to stay but it isn’t being cared for and loved by the host”. And for the cost, you would expect this.

Nice accommodation. Lovely Cotswold village location. Good village pub/restaurant within 100 yds.

A spacious but yet cosy Barn, which is generally well maintained and clean, although requiring a bit of TLC in certain areas now, such as blown double glazing on the large windows in the main lounge and a bit of redecoration required in certain parts. That said we had a lovely time here and it is generally well appointed and well equipped. We were a party of 3 couples with a one year old infant, who had plenty of room to run around and enjoy the large garden area outside. There are steps within the internal entrance and of course to upstairs, so infants may require keeping an eye on. There is only one bedroom with an en-suite, with the other two bedrooms either sharing the remaining shower, sink and WC (all 3 of which are separate on the first floor) or using the sink and WC off the study on the ground floor. This may have become a little tiresome if we had stayed longer, but for a long weekend was ok. The bedrooms were all large enough and the main bedroom with en-suite could easily accommodate a travel cot (not provided) also. Kitchen table seated 8 or 7 and a high chair (again not provided) and the kitchen was well equipped. There is a problem with flies however, which the property manager informed us about prior to our arrival. It seems to happen at this time of year and you can expect to be dealing with about 50 - 100 flies each morning and again late afternoon, so take plenty of fly spray. The flies are concentrated on the first floor of the barn, in the two bedrooms at one end and also in the WC, sink and shower areas in between those two bedrooms. There are two sets of dustpans and brushes and a vacuum. It will take about 15 mins on each occasion to kill and clean up these flies. Excepting that inconvenience, it is a lovely quiet location in this pretty Cotswold village. The village pub (The Fox Inn) is welcoming and serves decent food and is only c.100 yds. walk. It might be a good idea to book to dine though, as it was popular from early evening when we visited. We didn't hear any noise from the pub at night or from anyone coming/going. When leaving, we inadvertently left a few items behind and Stewart the property manager very kindly retrieved these for us and sent them on to us promptly. Thank you Stewart. All in all, if you are going at most times of the year when there are no flies, I would highly recommend this barn and location. The flies were a downside but we built the clean up of them into our routine, such that they were a minor inconvenience only.

Long weekend in early October

Our stay

Bunt barn is a stunning place to stay in a great location. Lovely little pub (Fox Inn) is cracking for food and is literally 200 yards away. Broadwell itself. is a very quiet hamlet/village and offers a much quieter place to stay than the very busy Stow on the Wold, and a one mile walk, up hill away. The only thing I would suggest is that Bumt Barn supply a BBQ and possibly some Sun loungers, this is not a criticism, we loved our stay and would return in a heart beat.

Bunt Barn was great

Stayed for just 3 nights. Great location and very comfortable. My only complaint is that the primary bedroom has only a bath tub, without a shower. The 5 of us had to take turns using the other bathrooms shower. Other than that, all was good.

Excellent Location

Property is in a great little village location with a pub, green and ford. Walkable to Stow on the Wold and short drive to Bourton on the Water. Sadly, there were a lot of cobwebs around the property at height but also under chairs and tables which we had to deal with. Also suffered with significant bluebottle fly intrusion to second double bedroom and bathroom area (Early October 2023) and we were using fly spray and hoovering up around 100 dead flys every couple of hours during days. (Contacted the Property Manager who said it was a natural occurrence that was happening at other properties he looks after. Said he would call round next day but we did not see him or any note)

Bunt Barn

We loved our stay at Bunt Barn. The views are beautiful. Broadwell is a lovely village with a great pub, The Fox. We enjoyed walking into Stow, a town that has a great butcher, Lambourn’s, the baker, Otis &Bell, the Cheese Shop and great restaurants like Alexious and The Old Butcher.

Lovely Barn

Set in an idyllic location, Bunt Barn was the perfect base for our visit to the Cotswolds and a family wedding. We were very comfortable inside the barn and the wrap round garden was perfect for BBQs in the evening. There is a fantastic pub called The Fox Inn which is a few doors away on the village green which serves great ales and delicious food. All in all, a really magical time. Thank you.

weekend break in cotswolds

the acomodation was great. only comment the email we had had the wrong wifi code. the correct code is in the welcome pack at the cottage. a small rubbish bin was leavt outside the back door. Other wise we had a wonderfull stay and would go again.
