This is a very unique property that has other rentals in it, perhaps they are better. The host was friendly and had some nice things ready for us; water, pastries etc. but she was impossible to get a hold of. We called to let her know we were 15 minutes away and again when we arrived. As most places are behind locked gates we had to wait until someone came out in order to have them go in and ask for us. She had some story of not having her phone. While the apartment looks exactly like advertised a lot of the amenities donât work. It was raining and the kitchen flooded so they put up big sheets of plastic. There was absolutely no water pressure so showering was out of the question. The oven door didnât fully close and there was no microwave, so heating any leftovers couldnât be done. The couch is not your typical âpulloutâ with a mattress it was so hard and uncomfortable. There were no extra linens, the pillows were terrible and you only had a big duvet, which I questioned itâs cleanliness. It was too warm in the apartment as the air conditioning never worked. There were no instructions or manual on how to use the tv, washing machine or oven. Even with googling the brands we still couldnât figure it out. As Canadians, we are not familiar with European appliances. There was an elevator but we were not given the code, so upon returning one evening, another renter had put a lock on our door from the hallway and we didnât have the elevator code, we were unable to get in and had to get the host up to do so ( luckily she lives there). The outside patio was nice except 6 apartment buildings look right down on you and I mean right down on you! An umbrella would have provided some privacy. We woke up each morning with itchy bites, not sure if they came from the apartment or being outside, although I did see little spiders on the couch. I think there are many places to stay in Rome and I would not recommend this one. Water and A/C are pretty important.
