Welcome to Skyview Retreat - A fantastic example of a 2 bedroom apartment that's at the very pinnacle of holiday let properties in the city.

Ryedale House is an exclusive, private development in the heart of York's historic core beside the River Foss. Skyview Retreat sits on the 5th floor and offers skyline views over parts of the city and a great view of open skies over the rooftops of York to the distant Howardian Hills. The property benefits from full, professional interior design throughout and does not fail to impress.

The tech savvy will no doubt be impressed by the lightening quick fibre WiFi that offers typical download speeds of 600Mbps and upload speeds of 100Mbps. The TV is an LG OLED 55" smart TV with Freeview.

Upon entering the open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area for the first time you will be immediately struck by the amazing amount of natural light coming into the apartment from the floor to ceiling windows. The property occupies a corner position on the building which aids this.

The kitchen area has been designed to the highest standards and features premium Neff appliances such as the oven and induction hob, fridge freezer and dishwasher. There's also a high end Smeg toaster and kettle plus a lovely DeLonghi espresso machine. There is a large island unit and bespoke worktop creating a sophisticated and contemporary living space with breakfast bar seating for 2.

The dining area can seat 4 for dinner and occupies a lovely corner position in the room that's just perfect for taking in the views of the city or a spot of people watching! There's a floor to ceiling sliding window with Juliet balcony too. The high quality engineered hardwood floors throughout the apartment also have the added benefit of underfloor heating with smart controls.

The master bedroom contains a king size bed, feature wallpaper and large wardrobe. The bedroom also has a fully tiled ensuite complete with underfloor heating and walk in shower.

The second bedroom of the apartment again features a king size bed. Both the bedrooms benefit from having USB sockets near the beds and high quality carpets throughout.

The beds in both bedrooms are King size 150cm* 200cm with "Which" award winning 'Emma' mattresses.

The main bathroom in the apartment is again fully tiled with underfloor heating and features a spacious, luxury walk in shower.

The apartment also has the added benefit of a secure, allocated car park space onsite.

Children welcome over 8 years old.

Beautiful Penthouse in York Centre

Central location. Safe car park on site. Stunning apartment with wide sweeping views of York. Stylish decor throughout. Quiet inside apartment, even though central to pubs and restaurants. Thankyou to Yorkstays for great local welcome pack. Lift to all floors.

Excellent stay

Second visit, very pleased. Couple of suggestions - clearer waste disposal guidance, some mugs for tea, provide a Tassimo or Nespresso machine (no idea how to use provided machine), make sure the tv remote batteries work (dead as dodo!), provide foil & cling film.

A Skyview Retreat review

This was the 3rd time we have stayed at Ryedale House and have always been impressed. The Skyview Retreat, where we stayed for a week, was a spacious well appointed apartment, with excellent facilities. Very comfortable furniture and beds. Highly recommended.

Truly enjoyed

The apartment we rented out was beautiful, very clean and spacious. Bed was very comfortable and plenty of space for your clothes etc. Modern kitchen, dining and lounge area. Hair dryer, iron and board all included. We loved the tall windows too. It was so nice I would be quite happy to live there. Location was excellent was only around 5-10 minutes walk to the town centre.

Our stay in York

Beautiful apartment, perfect location for York, literally everything within walking distance. Downside - Car park key fob not working all week, made life a bit difficult. Would have made life easier if there was a wheelchair ramp at the entrance / rear of the building from the car park. Apart from that highly recommended, York is also so beautiful, steeped in history, with so much to do.

Another great stay

Just spent another couple of days in this apartment. We've stayed in other apartments in this development but this one is our favourite due to the ease of booking with Stays York, the layout, furnishings and decor and the all important welcome basket on arrival. Fantastic location with all the shops, bars and restaurants on your doorstep (including Tesco and Sainsbury's local). The allocated parking space is directly behind the rear entrance making it handy for suitcases and the recycling store. That's just reminded me, in our demoralised state when leaving to go back home (and impending work ) we managed to forget to take our remaining Pringles, bread and flapjack... The apartment is always clean with plenty of towels and bedding. A tiny improvement for us would be some bigger mugs (for morning tea) and glasses (for evening pints!). Already looking forward to our next stay.

Short break with friends

York is a fantastic city to visit and the Skyview Retreat @ Ryedale House provided us with an excellent base from which to explore, would definitely use again. However, the warm weather did make the accommodation a little uncomfortable, as the large sliding window in the main living space was broken and could not be opened and the smaller windows just simply didn't allow enough air to flow. Furthermore, the corner sofa wasn't the most comfortable, as the springs on the lounger end seemed warn, a minor issue, but nonetheless worthy of mention. Finally, the secure parking was useful, but the allocated space is a little tight, especially if you have a larger vehicle, there is a pillar that hinders the opening of driver's door when reverse parking, again only a minor issue, but worth sharing. Despite the minor issues mentioned above I would definitely rebook the apartment, as it is a nice space and so conveniently placed.

Stunning Apartment

Absolutely beautiful apartment with all modern appliances. The beds were really comfortable and as soon as you walked into the apartment you noticed how clean and fresh everything looked. The bathrooms were immaculate and the welcome packet was very generous. Lots of lovely goodies. My husband gave the thumbs up to this so we will definitely be coming to stay at this apartment again.

Lovely apartment, centrally located, perfect stay

Skyview Retreat is a wonderful apartment located within the prestigious Ryedale House in Central York. I was impressed from the start with the sophistication, the views, the high-end concierge and the quality of the apartment. Stays York ensured the apartment was clean and all provisions were on hand. Will definitely be back!

Couldn't really fault anything

Brilliant apartment, very modern comfortable and spacious main room with a pleasnt outlook from the 5th floor. Every item you might need and all in perfect order. Good position in York for walking into the main area in just 5-10 mins but enough away from the centre to be not too rowdy at night. Our second stay at Skyview which makes returning from prolonged hikes around York's busy street that much more enjoyable, Apartment block very secure and the large modern reception hall with manned reception desk could put many a high class hotel to shame. All in all a very pleasant apartment. Just one minor niggle and why I marked 4 for cleanliness perhaps a little unfairly. One of the bath mats was folded as if laundered but it had large dirty marks on it. There will always be the occassional errors in any busy system, next day we happened to be passing Stays York Office and popped in to report. Thirty minutes later while walking the city walls Stays York phoned to again apologise and say that a clean bathmat had been left at the apartment.

Perfect apartment for a break in York

We stayed in Skyview Retreat for three nights at the beginning of May whilst attending our daughter's graduation. The apartment was perfect, spotless, comfortable and in the ideal location. We will be back. Sorry about losing the parking permit!

Wonderful stay in York

The apartment was just as lovely as I'd hoped when booking. The floor to ceiling windows gave lovely views. The apartment was well maintained - very clean and comfortable. The communal areas were also excellent - beautifully maintained and very clean. It was a real bonus to have a parking space. Thank you for a lovely base when visiting York.
