Escapade en bord de mer. Découvrez la vie en bord de mer et laissez vos soucis à la maison. Cottage de deux chambres et deux salles de bains située sur la plage de Willoughby, juste sur le rivage de la baie de Chesapeake. Centralement situé entre Williamsburg, Jamestown, Hampton, Norfolk, Virginia Beach et Outer Banks. Près de Norfolk Naval Bases et Old Dominion University. Idéal pour la pêche au surf ou la pêche à la jetée sur la jetée de pêche et le restaurant à proximité de la mer. Accès facile à la plage / rampe de dune à proximité de la propriété.

Paradise by the water, off the beaten path

We had a fantastic stay at Life on a Sandbar! The location is unbeatable—just steps away from the beach, with amazing views. The whole stay was both convenient and relaxing. The home was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully stocked with all the amenities we needed for a stress-free stay.The WiFi was excellent and was especially appreciated since we had to work remotely during our visit. Communication with the property owner was smooth and prompt—any questions we had were quickly answered, making us feel well taken care of throughout our stay.Overall, this was the perfect mix of comfort, convenience, and coastal charm. Quick access to I-64 as well as to surface streets to both Old Dominion University and Norfolk made this location perfect for our 5-day stay! If we plan another trip to Norfolk, this property will at the top of our list!

Awesome experience!

This was the second trip since the beginning of the year to visit with our Marine. Just a great house on the beach. Close to restaurants and grocery store. Would absolutely stay again!

Perfect little getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property is fully equipped with everything you would need. Jimmy, the owner, was responsive and accommodating, allowing us to check in early and depart late. Although our trip was brief, we plan to return and spend more time there. Oooo, and the beach is seriously just steps away!!

Great stay

We enjoyed the house and view of bay. Limited traffic on dead end street was nice, as well as the direct access to the beach. Minimal stairs was a blessing.

Quick stay in Norfolk

I had a quick work trip to Norfolk and stayed at Life on a Sandbar. The host, Jimmy, was great to work with. Very quiet area. The best part was watching ships come into and out of the Bay right from the front window. Highly recommend!

Lovely Space

We did a quick weekend trip here to celebrate an anniversary. Communication was superb! Property is an amazing location. Quick to find after getting off the highway. Beach was quiet with just a few other people. The back deck is definitely a highlight. Comfortable chairs and a nice view- spent hours there reading. Or relaxing in the hammock! House is well equipped- soft towels, kitchen had all the gadgets, and television/internet! It was a perfect quiet getaway- would love to come back!

Perfection

My friend and I go to Norfolk every year for a week, and this was the best by far. The home was beautiful and clean, and the location unparalleled. With just a few steps we were on the beach for as long as we wanted, with easy access to everything we needed. Jimmy was extremely responsive, and had great recommendations (we loved the pizza!) Staying here was truly an excellent experience. The home is cozy and well kept, and the yard was a beautiful place to relax and watch the sunset.

Peaceful and relaxing

Jimmy Black was the most gracious host. He gave me all the information on places to go, places to eat, everything you can imagine. Life on a Sandbar is a very nice place that is extremely clean, cozy, and just what the doctor ordered.

Beautiful despite storm

Very nice cottage. Clean in a quiet neighborhood. Very roomy and quaint at same time. My only disappointment was not being able to see the ocean from patio. We didn't get to enjoy the amenities due to tropical storm Debbie but would love to stsy here during better westher

Great house!

We absolutely loved this house. Everything you could need/think of was at the house! Jimmy was great with communication and checking in. Plenty of toys for the kids to play with at the beach. The whole family and I absolutely loved our stay here!

Nice Cottage on the Beach

Cute cottage right on the beach. Really close to Ocean pier for fishing and lots of restaurants nearby. Norfolk Botanical Gardens is less than 30 minutes away and definitely worth a visit. Only downside was the weeds were pretty tall on the sand dune in front of the house and you could barely see the ocean from the sunroom. The listing also said it has a hot tub but there isn’t one. Great place to stay overall.

Such a great place to stay!

This was our second stay at "Life on a Sandbar". Was excellent both times. Property is beautiful, warm and welcoming. Location on the beach is perfect. The host was very accommodating and easily accessible. I would give this place 100 stars if I could.

Great Place on the Bay

Jimmy's place was all you could ask for: very clean, comfortable, quiet and well equipped. We immediately felt at home there. A great base for visiting the Norfolk area. Jimmy is a gracious host who provided everything we needed for a great stay.

Lovely, relaxing time

I booked my vacation here to get some serious rest, and it worked out perfectly. The property was lovely and I instantly felt comfortable there, the neighborhood was indeed very quiet, and it was so convenient being so close to the beach. Just about every morning I walked on the beach and every afternoon I napped in the hammock. Jimmy also made sure to give me lots of good information about local places to eat or visit, or a heads up if anything interesting was passing by.
