Good home for the price, size and location. It was close to Old Dominion University and we were there for our daughter's graduation. The home was clean, but some items were not included that were stated in the property description (shampoo, body wash in bathrooms, cooking pots, and enough silverware). All in all, it was a good stay and the host was prompt in replying when contacted.

Carey was a great host. He he property was great and his communication was even better ! Super easy to get ahold of and even helped when needed to extend our stay. Highly recommend Carey and the property!

It was roomy and close to the beach. It was so close to our family we were visiting which was a bonus. Host was quick to respond and very nice. Easy check in and out. Would definitely stay again!

If you’re okay with ants throughout the kitchen, not being able to do laundry, and avoiding a bedroom because of a strong mold-like odor, you might be able to stay here.We wanted to leave shortly after arriving and only stayed two nights because we could not find suitable alternative accommodations sooner. As soon as we found another place, we left.As soon as we arrived, there was a very strong musty/mold-like odor in one bedroom and two nearby bathrooms. It was strong enough that we were uncomfortable using that bedroom and raised a health and safety concern for us.The next morning, we found a large number of ants throughout the kitchen on the floor, counters, and around the sink. The host later suggested the ants may have been caused by the condition we left the house in, but we first noticed them the morning after we arrived.The washing machine leaked, the dryer would not work and displayed an error, and one shower door was loose and not properly secured.These were not minor inconveniences. The conditions made the stay unacceptable for us, and had we known about them beforehand, we would not have booked the property.The host initially offered to refund two days. But because we left due to the conditions and felt the stay was not what we reasonably expected when booking, we requested a full refund. After that, the partial refund was withdrawn and we were told we would receive no refund.Based on our experience, I would not stay here again.

This guest is surely a fraud. They did not allow for anyone to come verify any issues they may have had. Attempted to get a full refund on the property after staying for 3 days. These people had 6 children in the home which they allowed to do anything apparently. Went into the attic and damaged the HVAC air distribution system then complained about the air. They also left absurd amounts of food throughout the home all over the floors then complained of ants. I should the photos to VRBO and they were not allowed to get any refund due to FRAUD! I will be pursuing a refund for the extermination of the insects they caused in my home. The dryer needed simply to be reset. Its ashamed. I have all the photos as well. If you are a host please think twice before allowing these people in your property

The house was clean. It had plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. I really liked the fact that in two of the bedrooms there were larger than just double sized beds in them.

A very lovely house. The accommodations were perfect for our family. Just minutes from the beach! I would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking for a cozy, family getaway that feels like home!!

Carey communicated with me fine but the house was in terrible condition! Extremely dirty, not like the pictures, the ash towels were like scrap towels, washer leaked & dryer doesn't work. Back deck & outdoor furniture falling apart. Patchwork on several walls and holes that still needed fixed- Beds were not comfortable at all. Just not in good condition. Sorry! When I asked about it he said I was being critical & those things don't really affect my stay... that no one else had complained like that. That he was working on things--thats fine but then you should say that & the walls shouldn't look like they did & have dirt & cobwebs everywhere! It could be a nice place if it was fixed up...should be done BEFORE being rented again!

First glance at the property was okay but once we entered it was not impressive at all. The place was very dirty and I ended up cleaning for 3 hours after I have driven 7 hours to get there. I took pictures of the place, contact was somewhat difficult at times, almost like an avoidance. The family that went with us wouldn't even stay there over one night. It was unacceptable. There was coffee grounds left in the coffee pot, dirt and dust around.

The house was not as advertised and me and family left15 minutes after checkin. There were patched up holes in the bathroom wall that were never repainted. Floor tiles were lifted throughout the entire house and a hole in the hallway wall. Broken glass was visible in the backyard.

My friends and I were very much looking forward to this vacation so close to Virginia Beach as we had not seen each other in years. Leading up to the stay Carey was very responsive and upon booking immediately asked if I had any questions. We’re very simple people so I said I did not, but would ask if any came up.That’s where the pleasantries stopped.When the door code was sent to us the morning of our stay Carey mentioned there were leaks and cracks on the walls… Upon entering it was clear that this house has not been maintained at all. Cracks across the entire ceiling, someone’s boxers in the washing machine, blood on bedding and curtains, handprints/marks/unknown stains on ALL the walls. It was unclear if it was mold, water damage, or random stains. 2 out of the 4 beds aren’t even beds, they’re just straight up coils with no padding or anything over them. 2 of my friends have been homeless in a previous life and they both said those mattresses were 10x worse than the bob barker mattresses given out in shelters/jails.I’m sorry, I don’t usually write negative reviews and a simple A is the norm. We’re familiar with the area, we weren’t expecting a 4 or 5 star hotel, but we were expecting a place that seemed to have experienced some TLC at some point in the last decade.I waited til after leaving, since unfortunately every place was booked out this weekend including all hotels and did not want to be shown the door without an alternative place to go.

HonHonestly,anyone looking at those photos can see that t there are no serious issues. I'm not sure why the guest would leave photos of a few stains on crack in the wall, as if they will be attached to the ceiling during their stay.

A roomy little home. The pics are somewhat deceptive. Not near as clean and kept up as they show food left in refrigerator and on counters. Water damage in bathroom. A marijuana smell in house as well.

1. Towels in hall closet were damp and mildewed 2. Washing machine leaks water when washing clothes 3. LOTS of water damage in kitchen floor, bathroom with tub in it4. Glass shower door top rail is not secured and almost fell off the track when closed5. Tub does not drain well6. Water pressure in glass shower was minimal and barely came out of the spout 7. House has mold due to water damage8. Outside furniture damaged and falling apart, not safe to sit in9. Unfortunately we found all of the beds absolutely horrible and none of us didn’t slept at all. 10. There were ants everywhere and when we loaded our luggage ants were found on and inside. (No food was inside our luggage)11. Trash was in some of the cans12. The house was dirty with dust and dirt on the wallsFor the money paid this was unfortunately not worth it for us. Way Over priced.
