Hello!
Originally from Plymouth - born just a few hundred metres from Hoe Park House - and having grown up in the neighbouring Cornwall I know the area very well. And, along with my brother Derek, have been successfully letting properties in the South West since 2011.
Hosting our three cottages Trengrove, Trevenna and The Boathouse was a tremendous experience, which earned us hundreds of 5 star reviews and a constant Superhost status for over eight years, so weâre well experienced hosts!
In 2019, ready for a new challenge, we sold our cottages and searched for a large renovation property. We fell in love with Hoe Park House immediately. Its majestic, Victorian charm and perfect location, between Plymouthâs iconic Hoe Park and historic Barbican, made it the perfect choice.
In February 2020 we got the keys and set to work. Renovating Hoe Park House has been a true labour of love, a huge project, from roof to foundation. Hidden details of the old house began to re-emerge; the ceiling roses and coving, the sliding pocket doors and the beautiful original floorboards. With the original layout restored, and major structural changes opening up the lower ground level, the elegant proportions of the 1800s house could finally be fully appreciated.
We are delighted and proud to be able to share the restored beauty of this handsome, elegant town house, and its charming location, with our guests!
Best regards,
Ian

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?
We chose this area because Hoe Park House's location in the heart of Plymouth is perfect, surrounded by rich maritime history. It offers a blend of historical charm and modern amenities, ideal for exploring landmarks like the Hoe, the Barbican, the seafront, and nearby bars and restaurants.
The historic Barbican, a short walk away, is a vibrant area with cobbled lanes that were once the centre of Plymouth's maritime industries. Now, itâs a lively hub of restaurants, cafĂ©s, and bars. Visitors can explore the Marine Aquarium, art galleries, eclectic shops, and historical sites such as the Mayflower Steps, where the pilgrims embarked in 1620. The area features around 100 listed buildings, including the Elizabethan House Museum and Elizabethan Gardens.
Activities in the area include booking fishing trips or jet skis, and taking boat trips around Plymouth Sound or along the River Tamar with stunning views of the Devon and Cornish coastlines. Ferries also access historic Mount Edgcumbe, the Royal William Yard, and the charming villages of Kingsand and Cawsand.
Hoe Park House, across the road from Plymouth Hoe, offers easy access to one of the most picturesque spots in the city, the seafront, and promenade. Perfect for leisurely walks, a swim in the Art Deco Tinside Lido, or open-water swimming.
The city centre, a few minutes' walk away, has a wide selection of shops and cultural attractions, such as the new Box museum and gallery. Theatre enthusiasts can enjoy performances at the Theatre Royal or visit the Barbican Theatre, supporting local creative voices.
This is also an excellent base for exploring surrounding areas, Plymouth train station, a short walk away, is on the main line through Devon and Cornwall. Quaint towns, pretty villages, sandy beaches, and National Trust houses are easily accessible. Walk the scenic South West Coast Path, enjoy attractions like the Eden Project, Tintagel Castle, and the richly historic Dartmoor National Park, all are within reach.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?
What sets Hoe Park House apart as a holiday let is that it is not just a standard vacation rental, but also our family home. It exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere, with original artworks and luxurious fittings and furniture that add a touch of elegance.
Moreover, the size of the house is truly remarkable, offering ample space for everyone. The bedrooms and sitting rooms are generously proportioned, allowing guests to socialise with family and friends or find a quiet space to enjoy some personal time with a book. The open plan kitchen, with its contemporary design, has been a favourite among our guests, providing a stunning and convivial space for gatherings and enjoyment.
What truly makes Hoe Park House unique, however, is its exceptional location. Within a two-minute walk, guests can access the coast, bars, restaurants, cafes, and more. However, despite being in the vibrant heart of historic Plymouth, Hoe Park House is situated in a small, quiet cul-de-sac, and the faces the beautiful Hoe Park, creating a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere.
We believe that the combination of a welcoming family home, spaciousness, luxurious amenities, and an unbeatable location makes Hoe Park House a truly exceptional choice for a holiday let.
