Wait n Sea - a cottage that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

Prospect Cottage is situated on Seaford Avenue, a quiet corner of The Bay but still only a few minutes to the village centre.

Enter through the front door into the hall with cloaks storage and downstairs toilet. Through the internal door into the open plan living space. To the left is the well-equipped kitchen with washing machine, new oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, and tall fridge-freezer. Round dining table for 4, and two large sofas and smart TV and DVD player for relaxing with the family. Bifold doors open wide to let the outside in. Large extended patio with seating and brick-built BBQ.

Take the stairs off the living space to the two spacious upstairs bedrooms with TVs and built in storage, and a family bathroom in between. Plenty of space for 2 in the twin room. The main bedroom also has double doors onto the balcony with seating. The bathroom has a bath with rainfall shower over.

Up to 2 well-behaved dogs welcome.

A great stay

We stayed at Prospect Cottage whilst we were looking at houses in the area, as we love it so much we are moving up there. The cottage was well set out with plenty of room. Views onto the green were lovely and the balcony upstairs was great for sitting with a coffee. Evenings were a delight Sat on the reclining sofa while we discussed houses or watched some tv. A great stay which felt too short.

Prospect cottage

Lovely cottage we had a lovely stay. I gave it only a 4 on cleanliness as there were all crumbs under the toaster, but would stay again.

Another excellent Filey Bay Direct cottage

Probably the best we have stayed in at The Bay Filey. Excellent kitchen facilities, comfy bed, comfy sofas and and large tv in lounge.

Lovely property had everything we needed and in great location Parking across from the property Great access down to the beach and lovely walk into Filey . Went to Scarborough and Whitby whilst staying here .

A weekend break

Good location and well presented accommodation .It was very comfortable for the three of us and the dog for two nights. An earlier check in and later check out would have made this perfect but it comes with the territory. An oven glove to use in the kitchen would have been helpful. Overall, very good and would stay again .

Thanks for the review. We can sometimes offer early check-ins but it just wasn't possible as you only booked the afternoon before arrival and it was half-term so it was a very busy day. There should have been an oven glove though and we would have dropped one off if we knew it had been missed. Hope to see you again.

We enjoyed our stay. Parking OK due to time of year. Hot water setting not ideal. Hot water not always available.

Excellent cottage for weekend stay

Comfortable and spacious. Quite a walk from the beach end, but we don't mind that at all. Kitchen is well equipped, dishwasher tablets would be useful as we forgot ours for the first time. Overall, very happy with accomodation.

Prospect Close was very clean and really comfortable to relax in , a great place to stay in would give it 5 stars , and definitely go back again. This is the second property we have had with Helen loved them both ❤

A very comfortable stay. Can highly recommend.

Our second time at Filey Bay but the first time in Prospect Cottage. The cottage is situated on a quiet road with plenty of parking nearby. We always found a spot right opposite the cottage. Prospect Cottage was spotless, more spacious than expected, well designed, well-equipped and attractively decorated throughout. The bedrooms were spacious, the main bed being large and very comfortable with good quality bedding. The rear facing rooms (master bedroom and lounge) both have french windows which let in plenty of light and overlooked a very pleasant open grassy area where we could throw a ball for the dog. The development as a whole is very attractive and is pleasant to walk through. In particular we enjoy the easy walk to the beach with the dog without worrying about traffic. We usually walk the couple of miles along the beach to Filey for coffee and bacon sandwiches. The host was very easy to contact and was prompt with information from start to finish (including Tide Tables). In particular quickly advised us of the options available to us due to extreme weather conditions on our arrival day ie possible cancellation/refund. On the whole we find it difficult to find any fault and it's very likely that, when we return to The Bay, we shall book Prospect Cottage again.

Perfect!

Loved this cottage so much, perfect location, booked for a birthday weekend! Was greeted with a welcome pack of goodies which were very thoughtful and came in very handy, also tea. Coffee, sugar provided just the small things made it so welcoming. Loved the layout , very spacious! Would definitely recommend!

Lovely house

This was our second stay at The Bay, different house. As always we were not disappointed, the house was lovely had absolutely everything you could possibly need. Location good but I'm not sure theres a bad location at The Bay. Staff in the pub were friendly and food beautiful. What a great place for a doggy friendly holiday. I would definitely recommend both The Bay and Prospect Cottage.

Lovely stay at Prospect Cottage

We had a lovely stay at Prospect Cottage; the cottage was spotlessly clean and well maintained and nicely positioned on the complex. The pub was nice with good food and drinks at reasonable cost and a short walk from the cottage. Lots of games and beach toys for children and of course a swimming pool. The balcony and patio are both south facing so great to catch the sun. The path to the beach is easily accessible. Definitely recommended for adults and children.

Last minute booking in June

Been to The Bay many times this was our first stay in prospect cottage.parking opposite cottage was very handy.The cottage itself was very well layed out.The bed was very comfy,the sofa a bit worn (when you put the recliner up the metal bar was sticking in my leg).The communal area wasn’t for us as every time someone walked passed the patio the dogs would bark.lovely walk to the beach and dog walking field. The cleanliness wasn’t great,the walls and skirting boards were dirty and dusty.The toilet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned properly in a very long time.We didn’t let it ruin our stay.I personally think it suits families with children. The booking was very simple and straightforward.

Thanks for taking time to review. We do have an FAQs on our website about dogs which advises which properties are better suited for dogs which reacte to people/dogs outside the windows/doors. We have checked the walls and skirtings and toilet and do not believe these merit a 1 star for cleanliness - the toilets were spotless and the skirting was clean but will look better when painted again. We plan a full redecoration after the busy season - unfortunately the walls do get marked when people carry bags up and down the stairs. We have removed the batteries from the lazyboy until we can get that checked over by a specialist.

A Week of Relaxation

We stayed here for a week in June. The two of us and our two small dogs. Ideal location for us. It would also be a good fit for a family as well. Handy patio area to the rear, that opens up onto a large grassed area, shared with other accomodations. Perfect for kids and dogs. Also, there was a balcony for the main bedroom overlooking the same area. Ideal for early morning cups of tea and also a sun trap in the mornings. The house was well equipped and perfectly clean too. A great location for exploring the surrounding coast and countryside. The site itself backs onto the beach, so great for walks to Filey. We would definitely stay again.

3 day break

A comfortable holiday home to spend time in . The house itself was clean and tidy, facilities were quite adequate. All was in good working condition. Bed was comfortable. The location for Filey was spot on with easy access to the beach. Didn’t use the pool or gym so can’t comment. Holiday park is quite dark in the evening so take a torch. Maybe the owners could and should fix the broken street light and or install a few more. Would return . Would be beneficial to have better parking options such as a named space for each house .

Thanks for the 5 star review. The resort management are considering changing the parking scheme in 2025 which might aid parking although Prospect Cottage is lucky as there are 4 bays nearby so always somewhere to park.

Love love love The Bay at Filey

Stayed in prospect cottage for our visit this time, beautiful house with everything you need and really spacious. Two good sized bedrooms with plenty of storage. Lounge/kitchen is a great communal layout. 5 minute walk down to the dog friendly pub on site and the another 5 minutes to the fantastic beach.

A nice place to stay

We had a nice week in Prospect Cottage. There were a couple of issues that Paula sorted out promptly. Cleanliness could have been a little better but otherwise a good location for the coast and Yorkshire moors.
