Wonderful property, all was as stated. Deer visited us the first afternoon. Nice location and enjoyed local stores, beach and restaurants. Linnâs restaurant was very good. Visited Hearst Castle, elephant seals, Harmony. Would definitely stay there again!
We stayed a week during January. The cottage was ideal for 2 people. The sitting room might be a bit small for 2 couples. It was great to find essentials in the cupboard and a fabulous bottle of wine on arrival.Thank you Sherry
the location was perfect for what we wanted to do , very clean ,comfortable bed, lots of natural light and visiting deer in the morning while having our coffee was a plus
The property was basically a place to lay our heads at night. The location was convenient. The home and furnishings were clean but old and felt worn out- ie- towels were well worn, electric outlet didn't work. Upon arrival bath mat was damp as though someone had just taken a shower and didn't hang up mat to dry. We were greeted with a musty "old" smell throughout our stay. The owner was pleasant in our communications which were brief & efficient.
The Redwood Hearts Cottage in Cambria was perfect for me and my husband. Our host was incredibly kind and responsive, with lovely touches of whimsy throughout the house. It is about a 6 minute drive into town, in a quiet residential area. Well stocked kitchen and bathroom. I'd stay there again.
Thank you, Sherry, for another fabulous stay. The cottage was cozy, immaculate, and we appreciated all the little touchesâwine, moonstonesâthat made it extra special. Looking forward to the next time.
This cozy cottage is nicely curated in a vintage style. The beds are comfy, and everything is clean and cared for. The living room might be small for more than 2 people to hang out in but the 2 bedrooms are spacious. Thereâs a carport for parking. As a couple we fit here fine and we enjoyed our 4-night stay.
A sweet redwood cottage in the quiet hills above the town of Cambria. A perfect house for relaxing and being close to nature.
Sherry, the host, shows her thoughtfulness with stocking the cottage with everything you might need. Moreover, a bottle of wine, Spring water and oatmeal raisin cookies were waiting for me in the kitchen.
My week spent here was very memorable because I could enjoy privacy, and know that my host was a text away if I needed anything.
Me and my hubby had a very good stay. The host was relatively communicative and very accommodating overall. We didn't expect the house to be so close to other homes but we still managed to feel a sense of privacy and solitude which is what we planned for. Be aware that the kitchen porch light that is on the wall that faces the neighbors home evidently glares into the neighbors home. She kind of caught me off guard as she told me so talking to me through the door asking me to be sure that light is off by 10:00pm.
This little rustic home is clean, close to town and comfortable. Sherry, the property manager was very responsive and would reply within minutes of my text. The beds were the most comfortable beds we have slept on at any VRBO. In fact, one of the ladies in our group wants to know what type of mattress they are because she wants to buy one. Thank you, Sherry! We will be back!
This is our second time to stay at the Cottage and we are hoping to be back before too long, itâs that inviting.
Itâs a short drive to town or the beaches. Lots of lovely food to choose and shopping for everyoneâs price range.
Cambria has its own small village vibe, but we find that locals are friendly and hospitable.
We really enjoyed our stay. The house is very comfortable. The fireplace in the living room is perfect for cool mornings and evening. We stayed in the room by the bathroom which has a very comfy bed.
Lots of great magazines to read, birds to watch, fresh air to breathe. Walking in the area is beautiful and inspiring.
My only complaint is not enough basics in the kitchen. Perhaps a few more spices/ herbs, cooking oil. We appreciated the snacks and coffee supplies. There was a welcoming bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived.
Very nice stay.
SoâŠthe first things I hope for in a VRBO stay are a good, comfortable bed and a well stocked kitchen. Check and check! The beds were wonderful, and the kitchen had anything you might need, and more. There are some very nice âextrasâ that most VRBO owners donât provide, and we appreciated their thoughtfulness! The house is small, but it is so well designed that our family members had their own spaces, and we didnât feel as if we were on top of each other. Thank you for a comfortable stay! We loved our time on the Central Coast!
We had a lovely sense of rejuvenation while resting and relaxing in this cottage. We even l lost a few years when the deer visited for apples the caretaker had provided to us. Highly recommend.
Cabin was great. So clean and cozy. Perfect for the two of us. Loved the vibe, the deer and turkey that visit each day. Great location for central coast get away.
Cottage was just the right size for the 2 of us to enjoy togetherness and also some privacy. Very peaceful and quiet. We indeed saw deer and wild turkeys. Weather was lovely in September and we totally enjoyed our stay exploring Cambria and the nearby coast. Breathtaking hiking excursions. Pathway to side entrance could be made more easily accessible but inside very inviting.
We had a wonderful time here! The cottage is cute and cozy. We spent a lot of time on the deck, beneath the apple tree, watching deer who visited the yard pretty much every day. The kitchen had all we needed and we made most of our own meals. The location of the cottage is just perfect! A quiet neighborhood with both the Strawberry Canyon path and Fiscalini Ranch Preserve within walking distance (though you can also drive to Fiscalini, parking was not a problem). So you have the sea, the hills/forest and walking trails all there. Then it is also just a short drive into town, where we enjoyed several cafes and sandwich shops. Great location in terms of going further afiled too - Heart Castle is close, etc. Would definitely come back!
One quick note: Be aware this unit does not have A/C. Most of the year this should be perfectly fine - Cambria is very temperate. We were there during an unusual heat wave and we coped with it by just hanging out on the deck. But something to keep in mind if there are elderly or otherwise sensitive people in your party.
This is a cute cottage. My daughter and I enjoyed our three night stay here. The few questions I had were answered by the property manager within an appropriate amount of time. It is on a quiet street and two young turkeys visited us every afternoon.
This little cottage was built in 1960 entirely of redwood hearts, and, though small, it feels exceptionally large because of the vaulted ceilings, views, and corner location. It is modest from the outside, but feels like a little mid-century nest when inside. It is surrounded by trees and offers mountain views. The large picture windows enables views of turkeys and deer who visit the property daily -- usually seeking to nibble apples from the apple tree, or to rest in the safe folds of the hedge.
