Beautiful three bedroom first floor apartment spread over two floors. This apartment is situated in the centre of the popular village of Hillsborough with several restaurants, pubs and shops on your doorstep. The apartment is a 20 minute drive from Belfast. It is ideal for short breaks in the picturesque village of Hillsborough or as a base for visiting Belfast and the rest of Northern Ireland. The apartment is fully certified by Tourism Northern Ireland as self catered accommodation. There is free off road parking for one car at the property.
Lovely property and area. Cant really fault it, very comfortable. Only issue would be the 2 bedrooms upstairs are in the roof so the doors are very low and small and the roof beams cant make it difficult to move around the bed. This would'nt put me off returning but if youre 6ft or over youll have a bit of a problem..It is aisted building though so these sort of issues can be expected i suppose.
This is a well equipped apartment (house), it has two floors. The bedrooms on the second floor are spacious but be wary of banging your head on the low ceiling in places. The door to one of the rooms is very narrow and that is all that I could find 'wrong' with this booking. The house was exactly as described, in fact we were amazed as it looked good it looked on the photos, that it was even better on arrival. Plenty of room to spread out, kitchen had a washer/dryer combo, we used the airing rack that was provided instead of the dryer. We had a problem with the electric tripping, one time, a quick call to Rob resolved the issue.
The village has plenty of cafes, pubs/restaurants, as well as a wonderful bakery. Holyrood Palace is a short walk up the hill, there is a lovely church, and a fort to explore. Also a large park with lake with a children's playground.
I would highly recommend this house, we enjoyed our stay here. Thanks to our hosts, a great job.
What a brilliant find, so spacious and beautiful. Perfect for a family of five plus dog and the location couldnât have been better. Will definitely return
Lovely listed property in the centre of Hillsborough
A lovely stay in this listed house, all mod cons and wonderful, bright, warm rooms, also helpful hosts. We felt instantly at home. Would certainly come back or recommend to families professionals or couples.
The apartment is the first floor and roof space of the original Combermere House, build in 1780, and is a grade two listed building. Although it is modernly furnished and insulated, the building maintains much of its original design and appearance. The top floor of the apartment has some low ceilings and small doors, although you can stand fully in all of the rooms. Hopefully you will agree that this adds to the character of the house, but be aware that you will have to bend down to move around upstairs.
The main benefit of the apartment is the location. It is situated in the centre of Hillsborough with all of the local amenities on your doorstep. There are several award winning pubs, cafes and restaurants along with a bakery, butcher and small supermarket directly outside the apartment.
Hillsborough is spoilt for attractions and activities. Hillsborough forest park with a beautiful lake-side walk is minutes from the apartment. As is Hillsborough Castle (the Queen's Northern Ireland Residence), St Malachy's church and Hillsborough Fort. There are pay per use tennis courts in the village and several golf courses a short drive away.
Belfast, the capital city of Northern Ireland, is a 20 minute drive directly along the motorway and the North coast (home to the Giants Causeway and the Carrick-a-Reed Rope Bridge) is an hour and twenty minutes away.
