Excellent property and ideal base for exploring North Norfolk coast. Has everything you need and more including parking space. Well placed for bus service, fish and chips and pubs. Only draw back is on busy road but house is very clean with plenty of room for six.
We had a lovely time at Grey Seal.
The property was well equipped and comfortable. It was an ideal location to visit all of the local attractions.
Thank you
Great location for a family holiday exploring coastal areas like Cromer, Sheringham, and Holt. Located close to East Runton beach and nearby to local pub and restaurants. Mike was friendly and provided all the information we needed to have a great stay. Would recommend for a family getaway.
We stayed here for 4 nights with our young family on our mini-moon. Communication with the owners was entirely straightforward and prompt. The property itself is nicely placed, shops, pubs and beach all within a short walk. The townhouse was immaculately clean, with modern decor and has everything you need to prep food/drink etc. We had a wonderful stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the place to anyone looking to stay in the vicinity of Cromer.
We visit Norfolk annually and have stayed in many properties, it was unanimous that Grey Seal is the best one so far. The property is beautifully decorated and well equipped. We had a small hiccup during our stay that the property manager dealt with swiftly. We were unable to park at the property, but there is a car park a very short distance away. Well situated for visiting all of the North Norfolk Coast.
We had a wonderful break.
We had a lovely long weekend away. The property was perfect for us. Great location as its right next to the beach. We cooked a Sunday dinner and had everything we needed in the kitchen. Just a note on parking, we managed to park one car outside the property. Our second car we paid ÂŁ34,, this was for a week.
The cottage is in a great location close to the beach and thereâs a good grocery store a few doors down. The cottage is cosy and done to a good standard. It was clean and bright. The only downside is that there is no outside space. The photograph shows seating area outside the house but this is where you park your car plus itâs a shared space so in reality we couldnât sit outside which was a shame as we had fabulous weather. Otherwise highly recommended.
We had a great time at Grey Seal. We were a family of 4 (three adults, one teenager) and the property was perfectly suited for our needs. It's very well maintained, nicely decorated, very clean and very charming overall. The house is also very conveniently located: a well stocked grocery store is 25 meters away, the beach a few minutes walk and Cromer is easily in walking distance. We did some lovely walks on the Norfolk coastal path towards West Runton, Sheringham and Cromer. Communication with Mike, the owner, was superb. And the little welcome package (a bottle of wine and some snacks) was a really nice touch. Overall, a great stay and would highly recommend!
Spotlessly clean house with all mod cons.
A five minute stroll to a blue flag beach.
Pub across the road and NISA shop practically next door.. Gluten free restaurant within a balls throw away ideal for those in my family with coeliac disease.
We walked to Cromer and Sherringham along the beach.
Be wary of the sharp stones under the water at high tide- At low tide you can see them and the sand just beyond. There was enough surf for the kids to bodyboard on. Ideal base for exploring the history and nature of Norfolk.
Gorgeous property, location is second to none - a very short distance to Cromer which is walkable or a few minutes drive. Bus services (bus stop directly outside property) are plentiful in both directions across the coast, the beach (beautiful) is around the corner. Directly opposite is a new restaurant called The White Horse which is gorgeous, for something a little less fancy you also have a charming local pub across the road - the Fishing Boat, which has a stunning hidden beer garden. The bed linen and towels were fresh and smelt lovely on arrival. Set in an attractive courtyard, we didnât use the parking space directly outside - although even with a medium SUV type vehicle, thereâs enough room. We parked around the corner at the East Runton beach car park for the week and paid ÂŁ37 which was a bargain because the 7 day permit includes all local council run car parks! The East Runton car park is large with loads of overflow space, our stay was in advance of school summer holidays however. Itâs easy to pull in next to the property to unload however. Overall, a beautiful property offering all the right ingredients and conveniences for a holiday by the sea in this most beautiful part of the country. As they say in Norfolk, bootiful.
Beautifully presented property in the heart of East Runton
The house was immaculately presented, with all the required amenities and an added bonus of a bottle of wine and some treats to welcome us. It was an easy walk into Cromer and very close to the beach and local amenities. All on all, we had a very enjoyable stay at Grey Seal.
A lovely cottage renovated in a modern clean style. Well equipped with good fittings and plenty of equipment and storage.
Excellent communications with owner/agent. Good local shop for essentials. We went midweek early February so all the nearby places were closed.
Parking is tight and too small for a large car (we just got our BMW X3 in)
The only real drawback is that it is directly on the main road and so we found it quite noisy
Lovely property, very close to Cromer for afternoons out but located in a nice and quiet village for those looking for a recharge. Really clear communication with host who was very accommodating, enjoyed the "welcome hamper" of wine and chocolates! Would stay here again.
House was lovely, clean on arrival and heating on ready for us and as it was a cold evening when we arrived it was perfect.
Lovely welcome pack consisting of wine, crisps and thorntons pack of brownies which I thought was lovely touch.
Location is great but as advert states the property only has parking for a small car and this is exactly right, we parked on road as much as we could but its restricted to 20 mins wait times in day time so had to in the main find other places, the green which is advertised as somewhere to park is just round the corner but never had any spaces and I'd imagine in the summer would be impossible to park anywhere other than local car park.
House itself was lovely, it was clean overall and I'd only be being extra picky if I said anything more as was fine for us.
There was a local shop (few doors down) that seemed to be open 8-9pm for essentials and a couple of bars/local club type places which we didn't visit. There is a chip shop opposite house but unfortunately it wasn't open for any period during our stay (fri-mon) which was a shame. Coffee shop again opposite was open from what we seen for a few hours sunday morning so again limited hours but its out of season now so to be expected. Sammys bar and grill opposite house looks to be completely closed down permanently which is a shame as previous reviews look to be good.
The weather was against us which meant we didn't explore as much as we wanted on foot, we did drive down into Cromer and Sherringham and had a wonder around each of these areas, can imagine they would both be wonderful in the summer.
Over all a nice break away in a well looked after home thank you
After moving to Norfolk many years ago, I fell in love with the county, stayed here and made it my full-time job to give guests a holiday that will be remembered long in the memory!
Grey Seal offers a bit of luxury in the heart of North Norfolk coast. The beach on your doorstep and provides a perfect base to explore the North Norfolk coast and indeed further inland.
