We were so pleased with our stay. Tom and Judy are great hosts and so easy to communicate with! The cabin is perfect and the view of the pond is stunning. Fishing was great this year too! We spent lots of time with my parents and hosted them for dinner nightly. The cabin is well stocked and super comfy. Thanks again!!
It is a little cold in Maine at the end of November, but this cozy cottage is a very warm and inviting. We drive from Delaware to Maine to have Thanksgiving with our son and his family. This was our second or third Thanksgiving in this cottage and we really enjoy the location, and privacy. This last time we did have a hick up with the front door, but Tom answered our call and was able to help us out right then. We love this place!!
The views, inside and out, were so relaxing.
Quiet lot, caught a few bass off the dock.
House was well stocked. Extra bathroom was a bonus. The deck and yard swing were delightful. The sunsets are not to be missed.
Thank you Judy and Tom for the use of your cozy cottage! We spent a relaxing week here in mid September. Every morning we sat coffee in hand enjoying the lovely views of Pleasant Pond to start our day. Every evening we sat around the firepit enjoying the sunsets and listening to the loons singing across the pond. It was such a great taste of home for 3 Mainers now living out of state!
This was our second stay this summer. Great location and house to rent. Beautiful view, deck and lawn area. Host is wonderful! We will be back next year!
We had such a lovely time here. It was quiet but close enough to a town that we didnât feel too secluded. The hosts were very communicative and welcoming. The lake was stunning and I especially liked the little creek that ran down the side of the property.
We loved our stay on Pleasant Pond! The cabin is comfortable and relaxing, and the views from both levels inside and from the deck are superb. The location could not be better- at the end of the road (quiet!) and right on the water. Would eagerly come back!
The house was perfect. The view from inside and outside is amazing. Very peaceful and the location is perfect. Tom is very responsive and helpful. We canât wait to go back!
The property is so beautiful and relaxing. The 180 degree view of the pond from the living area is mesmerizing. So fun to watch bald eagles, ducks and beavers from the deck. It is a good location if you want to see different areas. We took day trips from the cottage to bar harbor, rockland, and ogunquit. Nearby hallowell was a fun hangout. Somedays we just stayed at the cottage and had a lovely day of resting, playing games and enjoying the view.
Tom and Judy are amazing hosts with lots of great communication and accommodations. Easy to contact and quick responses.
We really loved staying here.
We had a wonderful week stay at this camp! My husband went fishing on his boat ( this lake has a lot of large mouth bass!), while I sat outside on the lawn or on the deck enjoying the breeze from the lake, watching the loons, eagles and just relaxing!
The camp has a wall of windows overlooking the lake even on our one rainy day, we enjoyed the view!
The camp has all you need and is spacious, clean and very comfortable.
Thank you Tom and Judy for sharing this beautiful camp and we definitely want to stay again next year!
My husband and I stayed for the month of October to be near our daughter and take time away from the world. It was fantastic! The magnificent view was there every moment...and beautiful regardless of the weather. The cottage was cozy, providing everything we needed to be comfortable and feel at home during our stay. Tom was always available to answer any questions, which was reassuring. Breakfast on the deck while watching birds and appreciating the changes in the color of the leaves, walks to Peacock Beach, an happy hours on the lawn most days structured our lovely, relaxing days. Just a wonderful "home away from home"!
The cottage was clean and simple just what I was looking for as a get away from the city. Close enough to Portland, Augusta, and Bar Harbor without the congestion of traffic or noise of crowds. The loons on the lake were beautiful to listen to in the evenings. Access to the water was very easy, even took out the paddle boat to tour the lake. The only one issue is that the beds were too firm, but adding a sleeping bag or two will make it more comfortable. The closest grocery store is the Hannafords in Topsham. Stay at this out of the way cottage and rest without losing touch with the real world, they offer wi-fi access. If I had more vacation time available I'd book another week at this lovely lakeside cottage.
My family had a perfect week away at the "Waters Edge" cottage. It had everything we needed, and the included Canoe and Paddle Boats were a memorable bonus. Downtown Gardiner being nearby allowed for easy dining-out/take-out options when we opted not to cook. Reasonably convenient access to Freeport and Boothbay areas, the location is remote feeling, away from more crowded areas, but well connected to the beautiful mid-coast region of Maine. We recall, and miss, hearing the call of the Loons on Pleasant Pond in the evenings after a long day of kids swimming in the lake and taking family boating trips. Both kids learned how to cast their own fishing poles, and we caught our first fish! Watching sunsets from the dock was a nightly spectacle. We made a lot of uniquely new family memories together during our stay at the perfectly appointed Waters Edge cottage. The location is perfect for nature-loving families. Highly recommended, would return again.
options, but
My family and I spent a relaxing week at this quiet and comfortable cottage on Pleasant Pond. The location could not be more perfect, at the end of a dead end road, right on the water's edge. The cottage was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed for our stay. The large windows extending across the entire side of the cottage facing the water meant that we could enjoy the view despite the rainy weather we had for most of the week. We did have a couple of sunny mornings to enjoy the deck as well. The canoe and paddleboat were fun to use, only wish the weather had cooperated for more time on the water. We were fortunate enough to spy the nearby bald eagles' nest and saw one of the eagles take off from the trees--breathtaking! We also loved spending time in nearby Gardiner and Brunswick. I highly recommend the cottage for an enjoyable stay on this beautiful pond.
I needed a place of solitude and this place was it. I was able to rest, read, knit and watch an otter lay on the water and munch his lunch.
When you walk in the door a bank of windows overlooking the pond catches your eye. You must stand in front of it, taking in the beauty in front of you.
It rained a couple of days and was chilly in the morning. No worries. The little gas stove in the front room worked well to chase it away.
For me, it was just right. I returned home relaxed and ready to begin again.
I rented this cottage, on my own, for two weeks in May-June, and intend to return with my partner for 4 weeks this coming October. For me, the place is all about the dramatic views. Comfortable furnishings: it's a camp, with a camp feeling, meaning a mishmash, but fun and very spacious. Great bed. I found the firmness ideal. Perfect wi-fi. Good hot water and water pressure. Very very well-equipped kitchen. Since it's the last cottage on the camp access road, there is never a sound of vehicles passing. The only sounds are of folks enjoying themselves in a couple of nearby cottages. In addition to the deck, there's also extensive lawn area with good outdoor furniture. The owners present the house beautifully. I grew up in Gardiner, and so my attention was focused in that direction. The new Gardiner Food Coop is great, as is the A-1 Diner, Emery's Meats, and Hannaford's, not to mention the Kennebec Rail Trail. Another huge plus at this cottage is the proximity to both interstates, to Lewiston and to Brunswick. You're also less than an hour from several Maine coastal peninsulas and beaches: Popham, Reid, Five Islands, Boothbay. The entire experience is ideal, and the responsiveness of the owners is perfect.
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin on the pond. The cabin was decorated for Easter, which was a very nice surprise and made the vacation extra special. The added bathroom upstairs was also very nice! We have stayed here before and looking forward to our next visit!!
A very nice, rustic, but well-equipped cottage with a fabulous 180 degree view of the pond. It was quiet and peaceful. I was comfortable staying there by myself. All communications with the owners were easy and helpful. The place could use a deep cleaning and some new sheets and blankets, which lowered my rating somewhat.
We returned home today after spending several relaxing days at this lovely cottage. The water views from the camp are beautiful, and because it is at the end of the road it felt very private. The cottage had everything you could want for cooking and games, the wifi was excellent, and the canoe was easy to take in and out. I would highly recommend it for a peaceful lakeside getaway!
While we had a few issues when we arrived, Tom (owner) and his family addressed everything quickly and once that was done, we had a wonderful week!! Nice to be at the end of the dirt road, as you really had privacy. We saw loons, otters, and we must have great fishing off the dock (although didnt try our luck), because several small boats trolled nearby and one guy caught a good sized fish!! Nice breeze off the water and nice neighbor. Would recommend staying here.
We, Judy and Tom Connelie, have owned the waterfront cottage on Pleasant Pond, Richmond for over twenty years. We are the owners / operators of the very highly rated Black Lantern B & B in Topsham, Maine and place the same focus on guest satisfaction and a comfortable stay for our cottage guests as we do for our B & B guests. We continually look for ways to improve the cottage leading to the major renovations in 2019 and the addition of air conditioning and larger shower over the winter of 2021-22 and addition of a half bath on the loft and new, wall to wall carpeting on the loft and in the first floor bedroom over the winter of 2022-23.
This is a modern, well equipped cottage only 10' from the water on a large wooded lot at the end of a private road.. Over 250' of waterfront and oriented on the lot for great privacy.
