We loved the whole weekend! If you like to get away out in the country, this is the place. The cabin is small, but who cares? Inside has everything imaginable to make your stay complete. If you want to explore Groveland and the surrounding area, it's not far. Hetch Hetchy was one destination up the road, and, wow, it's beautiful too. Oh, and the folks at the ranch were wonderful!
This place is amazing! You live like during the gold rush but with all modern amenities! We had such a great time roaming around the area, and just sitting on the patio enjoying the scenery!
The cabin has everything you could imagine and is located in a beautiful area. The classic western feel made us feel like we were right at home. All of the amenities, combined with the beautiful location and comfortable cabin make this a 5 star cabin hands down.
I love this spot! It is so peaceful and with such amazing views. It was all the was promised and more. You are still close to everything you need, but definitely isolated from any neighbors. 5 Stars isn't enough.
I have stayed here 3 different times and this was no different. It is the best stay for 2 people I can imagine. You are alone with the animals and the stars, yet you have every convenience you could ask for.
We came to celebrate a birthday and see Yosemite for the first time. We stayed two nights and this remote cabin will fool you. It looks so rustic on the outside but the inside was beautifully decorated and the bed was SO comfy!
The outbuildings were fun to see and the horses were a special bonus. The kitchen was well equipped and we cooked all of our meals there. Yosemite is a 40ish minute drive and was well worth it! Highly recommend and weâll stay here again.đ
We loved staying on the homestead, and wished we had more time to enjoy the property! We stayed here for two nights - exploring Yosemite during the day. Driving into the property is an adventure in itself, and it is a wonderful feeling arriving back to the cabin after a long day - to enjoy a sunset, sit outside, and pet the horses! The cabin is full of fantastic touches that make it feel like a much larger space - it is extremely well appointed and comfortable. Would love to come back.
The cabin is fabulous. We used it as a base of operations to explore Hetch Hetchy. It was perfect. Some driving. But worth it to not be in the Evergreen Lodge etc etc etc.
The cabin is tiny but - for us - it lacked nothing. The kitchen is very well thought out. We made three dinners and wanted for nothing.
There is every type of coffee maker available.
The property is massive and fun to explore.
We hope we return soon.
My wife and I booked this property for a quick Valentines getaway and hoping for a chance to reconnect. We ran into a small hiccup in the check-in process which Natalie addressed ASAP. Once checked in our expectations were exceeded in every way. The property is incredible and the sunsets were among the best we've seen (including Santorini!). Every detail in the cabin is tended too right down to the informational signs made to look like state parks signs. It was great and therapeutic to interact with the animals on the property. In the days leading up to our stay Natalie was prompt in her replies. We look forward to visiting again in the near future.
Had a very nice stay at the Homestead. It was an extremely hot week and the AC had trouble keeping up when we first checked in but otherwise the cabin was great and very quiet among our bovine neighbors. We spend 3 days hiking in different parts of Yosemite which was an hour or two away. Natalie was a fantastic host and very responsive to any questions we had. Would highly recommend.
This cabin was perfect for my husband and me. We spent one day just relaxing at the cabin and another visiting Hetch Hetchy. We couldn't have asked for anything better!
Great place to stay. The ranch is very unique and the animals provide good company. The cabin itself is well appointed and has everything a person would need. We had a great time and was the most memorable part of our trip to CA.
If you love an adventure, this is for you! So many interesting things to see. The cabin is rustic farm house. Kitchen is well equipped. We traveled back and forth to Yosemite with ease. Groveland is a cute little town to visit. We went to Sonora as well. Nice shopping there. We had a fantastic time at the cabin.
We loved feeding the horses apples and carrots with permission from the host. It was our daily routine. Our weather wasnât great so we didnât get to enjoy a lot of outdoor activities at the ranch. Our last day the power was out due to the storm, so it was cold. My only suggestion, would be a generator for those times when there isnât power.
Trip to celebrate our 43rd Anniversary. Not easy to find using Google maps. Upon arrival the air conditioner was not working & after a 16+ hr. Drive we were pretty frustrated. Called owners & didn't get an answer. She later returned our called but with no solution. Sleepless 1st night in sweltering heat. Thanks to Bob the farmhand who helped us put in a different air conditioner the next day,we got the cabin cooled down & began to enjoy our stay. We loved feeding the horses & mules. Driving up on the mountaintop for evening sunsets. All the necessities that were provided for our stay, except for one thing that was missing, (A regular coffeemaker). Other than those little bumps in the road we enjoyed a good night's rest after our 3 days of hiking in Yosemite. Groveland has some nice shops & restaurants as well. The owner has been kind enough to compensate us for the 1 sleepless night we spent without air which was nice. Would we stay there again, YOU BET WE WOULD.
I loved the location and the area. Beautiful place to stay. About 40 minute drive to Yosemite North Entrance and 1 hour and 30 minutes to Yosemite village. The drive dose not seem to long as the views are amazing. Groveland is nice little town close to the cabin where you can go to some local restaurants or go grocery shopping.
The cabin was charming and well-appointed. Every need was anticipated in the kitchen. It is a perfect getaway to nature and still be quite comfortable. The only negative is that the air conditioning was having difficulty keeping up with the 95 degree heat.
My wife and I chose this cabin as a base to visit Yosemite. Big mistake! The cabin and the ranch are so wonderful that it was hard to convince ourselves to get out and get going.
The place is immaculately clean, it's small, but just the right size for two people, impressively well stocked and designed with great attention to smallest details. Not only decor, even the books seem to be carefully selected and I enjoyed browsing Ansel Adam's album and read about Hetch Hetchy history.
We felt recharged after two nights here as if we came back from a week long vacation. I do hope we'll be able to come back and enjoy the cabin soon!
What an amazing experience this was for us! Being in the middle of a legit cattle ranch provided the much-needed break from the daily grind that we were seeking. We were definitely grateful for the full immersion into nature that we were able to experience at the Homestead while simultaneously being pampered with every high-end creature-comfort one could desire from a shelter. The stars at night were breathtaking after the beautiful sunsets, and the well-appointed kitchen was utterly delightful to putter around in the morning after a luxurious night's sleep on the incredibly comfortable king bed. We will definitely be back again and again. I can not recommend this experience highly enough.
The HOMESTEAD was by far, the BEST property we ever rented ( and we have done quite a few over the last few years)... it felt like a chance to experience days gone by --you could just "see" cow hands and all the activities on a working ranch. We indeed are blessed in this life! The cabin was rustic feel, yet had ALL of the amenities you could ever want. Just sitting and watching the wildlife from the porch was AMAZING, and so relaxing after a day hiking Yosemite. We slept better there than we can remember. So many thanks for memories we will cherish!
Art and design are my passions and I believe they are vital elements in making our experience of life more beautiful and enjoyable. Renovating the cabin was a fun project because we wanted to be true to the cabin's history and rustic style, while maximizing its small size through creative design. Our family looks forward to our stays at the cabin now and we hope you do, too! The cabin and ridge await you!
