Layout not as advertised. basement so musty no one could stay there. bathrooms were in odd places and not great. The bathrooms were not easily accessible from bedrooms. Outlets didnât work . Beds were almost on floor. . The temperature was unbearable , only one room had a/c.On line pictures did not represent booking. Address changed upon arrival. We left and chose to go elsewhere.
The house is in a great location and had a lot of room for 6 people. The beds were really good, it was clean and it had everything we needed. Anyone with mobility problems may have issues with the narrow steep stairs but it worked out ok for us. We had a great time and Jenny was a wonderful host. We really enjoyed the house and the area.
This townhouse worked out perfectly for our family of 9 that traveled from the USA for 9 nights in London. While not exactly in Covent Garden the location was fantastic on a quieter side street closer to the Seven Dials area. Check in and communication with the property managers was amazing, they were always responsive and available immediately! The townhome was fully stocked with all the essentials, all we had to do was buy groceries for the week. While not fancy it was clean and the location and number of bedrooms/bathrooms worked really well for our large group.
This is a fantastic option for large groups. Just don't expect luxury. The living spaces are cramped (save for the top floor bedroom which is spacious). What you are paying for is the amount of beds and the perfect location. Almost everything is within walking distance.
My three children, their spouses and my seven grandchildren and I stayed at this townhouse in London. The location is absolutely marvelous. It is not in Covent Gardens - much better. It is on a quiet backstreet in the theater area very close to the Leicester Square station. Easy access to all the main tourist attractions, yet quiet. However, please note there are five floors and no elevators and no railings. Air conditioning only on the first floor, and its erratic. Lots of rooms and beds but they are on different floors, and gathering space is limited. We did love the location, it was pretty clean and the beds were fairly comfortable. There was plenty of kitchen ware and other odds and ends you might need, too.
My friends and myself stayed at this property for 5 days. The only reason we didnât leave was we were in the middle of a strange city and it was already paid for. Upon arrival the bathrooms were filthy (we had them recleaned) still not much better. The bedding was dingy, the pillows old. The beds were very old and uncomfortable and many pieces of furniture were broke. As the week went on, the dishwasher broke, the air conditioner broke, the kitchen window leaked and people were urinating in the window well in front of the townhouse. The front door lockbox had been tampered with a couple times and one day we found the house door ajar. Kinda scary
In the owners defence, the mechanical issues were delt with promptly. Donât let the lovely ad pictures fool you. We are not ones to complain, but this bears the exception. The place is a rundown, filthy frat house thatâs wayyy overpriced!
We learned on arrival that the address differed from the address given during the rental process, and that the photo of some type of an arcade shown on the home page of the listing is unrelated to the property. When shown the property on arrival, entry way carpet badly worn and stained, clothes dryer broken, toilet plumbing in one bath not in proper operation, shower plumbing in another bath not in proper operation, another of the bathroom quite cramped (requires a person to contort him/herself to close the door). The interior appears to have been fitted out with finishing acquired from the âclose outâ aisle at the hardware store. The upside is location in the heart of Soho/Covent Garden, which we appreciated. Might be a good fit for frat boys on a road trip. We would not stay at this property again.
The good- the location was very centrally located in the Covent Garden/Leister Square area. There are lots of rooms, tons of beds to sleep in. We were 8 and each had our own bedroom with a few loft spaces to spare.
The okay - the layout is stacked. Lots of floors so there are lots of stairs. This was not a problem for us, but if you had mobility issues it might not work.
The not so good. It was a heatwave and while there were fans, the upstairs rooms were HOT. The washer worked but did not dry clothes.
The bad. Check in was not great. While they were responsive, the location we were sent to was not the actual location. It was only a few blocks away, but after 12 hours of travel it was worrying when things started off bad. They said it wasnât ready and we were waiting on the street, but by the time we walked over it was ready. Whew! I mention it not to complain, but to manage expectations and know it will work out and the apartment is worth it.
Excellent response from Paul and Jenny to all queries throughout our stay. Thoughtful touches like filled fruit bowls, bread, mince pies and flowers on arrival. A bit noisy but location was worth the trade-off.
We had an amazing stay. The location cannot be beat. The owners were super responsive throughout the entire process and met us for the walk through when we checked in.
While there are a few things that could use a little work, I think this is also part of the charm of staying in a UK flat.
We absolutely loved it and would definitely stay here again. There were 6 stories and the place is definitely set up for large parties. We stayed here with just 8 and had so much room to spread out. 5 out of 5 stars from all of us!
There was a bit of confusion in the check in just in terms of where to meet and at what time, but the property managers were fantastic on communicating with us. The boys is definitely cozy, but the location is amazing! Overall, we were happy with the stay. A note: perhaps supplying basic amenities would be appreciated, such as shampoo and conditioner, body wash, coffee, etc.
Our experience at this property was amazing. The house was beautiful and the location was perfect for our plans in London. We were greeted and helped with our bags a few minutes from the house. We were celebrating a birthday so wanted to decorate the house and have a few drinks there, and we were allowed to do so. I would definitely stay here again.
