Edgeset est situé sur Hancock Pond au Danemark, Maine. (Ponds peut être très important dans le Maine - celui-ci se trouve être environ 2 miles à travers!) Cette maison de vacances a été construit en 1966 et a été un lieu de villégiature favori pour la famille Hershey et bien d'autres familles depuis ce temps. La propriété se compose d'environ 1. 5 acres de terres boisées et 250 'de façade de l'eau. Le pont avant est à environ 30 'du bord de l'eau et a une vue magnifique sur le lac au sud.

Edgeset est un endroit idéal pour se détendre et s'évader de notre vie trépidante. Profitez d'une baignade dans l'eau du lac clair (vous pouvez souvent voir le fond jusqu'à 10 'de profondeur). Faites un tour en canoë pour profiter de la beauté des paysages, ainsi que la faune locale, vous aurez généralement rencontrer au moins un des éléments suivants: des huards, des aigles, des harles, Bass et beaucoup plus. Ou peut-être vous voulez aller pour une promenade / randonnée dans les bois, il y a beaucoup d'options à choisir.

La maison elle-même est un 4 chambres, 2 salles de bain / cabine qui est un endroit idéal pour être dans chaque saison. Il dispose de lits pour un maximum de 10 personnes, une laveuse et sécheuse, cheminée, table de ping-pong et une grande terrasse. En 2017, le premier étage a subi une rénovation majeure qui comprenait un remodelage complet de la cuisine avec de nouveaux appareils, une nouvelle salle de bain et un nouveau revêtement de sol. Tout cela améliore l'expérience du lac Maine! Le magasin le plus proche est le magasin général de Jimbob qui a un peu de tout et est à environ 4 miles de la maison. Pour le shopping supplémentaires, y compris les épiceries, magasin de matériel et toutes sortes de boutiques uniques de la ville de Bridgton ME est environ 10 miles de Edgeset.

Voulez-vous aller et explorer la région? Cette location de vacances est situé entre les plages côtières du Maine et de la Cordillère Blanche dans le New Hampshire et le Maine occidental, soit sont à une heure de route. Donc, vous avez beaucoup de choix à choisir, une journée à la plage, un lecteur au sommet du mont Washington, une randonnée locale, nager dans un ruisseau de montagne rafraîchissante, oh et si besoin est beaucoup de shopping. station Shawnee Peak Ski se trouve à seulement une minute de route à court 10.

The house was great and the lake was beautiful.

Quiet get away

Great little spot on a nice quiet pond that is very relaxing. Off the beaten path but a lot to do in the area. Around 25 minute drive to the Fryeburg fair. Would stay here again

Beautiful and Relaxing

My wife and I plus another couple stayed here for a long ski weekend. This place was fantastic. Ski by day at nearby Shawnee Peak, then relax by the fire at night. Views of the Hancock Pond were beautiful. Hope to stay here again!! Thanks Ron and Regina!!

Nice relaxing cottageon the lake

Cottage was fully stocked,and just had a remodel done of the first floor, place looks awesome , had a lot of fun playing pin pong down stairs, and relaxing looking out over the lake.. We can't wait to come back next year.. THANKS Todd & Brenda

We loved it!

Great place on the lake

The place was awesome. It has everything you need for cooking. Well stocked with soap and paper products. Very clean. The check in book was very informative with info on local things to do. It was a great experience renting from the hersheys.

The cottage had all we needed to have a wonderful time.

We had a wonderful week at the cottage, there was just two of us. The lake was all we hoped it would be as we like to fish and use our boats to enjoy the water. We spent a few days on day trips went clamming at state park in Georgetown. Would highly recommend this place if you want a restful vacation. Hank & Diane

Wet Yet Awesome!

We had everything we needed except more sunshine! Ron and Regina were very accommodating and when a small problem arose the care taker was quick to handle it.. The house was secluded and the water was warm and clear......perfect!

Relaxing Week on Hancock Pond

We loved our week on Hancock Pond! The house was great. We spent the week hanging out on the back deck, canoeing, swimming, and enjoying the campfire. The house is on a small peninsula surrounded by trees, so there's enough privacy between neighbors. I enjoyed hearing the loons sing across the pond. I would definitely recommend this house for a family vacation. Thank you!!

Beautiful spot on a private lake!

We had the best, most relaxing vacation ever! House was very clean and extremely organized. Owner had everything you needed indoors and out. Our 3 young children entertained themselves all week swimming and playing outside. It's a perfect place for a family that wants to get away and relax. Plenty of hiking and exploring to do in close vicinity. One week was definitely not enough. Looking forward to going back next summer!!

Relaxing Vacation!

We stayed for a week - family with 3 teenagers. The house is right on the lake - it's a nice and quiet area, not crowded. The house had everything we needed. We went fishing every day and played ping pong many nights. We went to a drive-in movie theater in Bridgton - it's open every night. Also did a day trip to Portland and Freeport. Since the house is in the woods, it was never too hot.

Cozy, Comfortable, And Peaceful

Edgeset in Denmark, ME is a great spot for four season vacationing. The surrounding area is replete with any and all manner of outdoor activities, yet away from the throngs of fellow travelers and tourists. The owners make every effort to provide affordable, comfortable, and peaceful lodging. We always felt well looked after by the owner and property manager, yet not intrusively in any way. It is well worth the price and we expect to return.

Summer Fun

This was our second year staying at Edgeset. The house has everything you need. Once you've been to the grocery store you can sit back and relax. The water is clean and warm for Maine standards and the wildlife is entertaining.Magic Lantern in Bridgeton this visit. Beautiful Old Style theater for both movies and live performances and at an affordable price. Thank you, Ron and Regina for sharing Edgeset with us.

Lovely, relaxing week

We vacationed here with a total of 6 people (4 adults and two children). Lake was beautiful and the house is well equipped with boats and water toys. The first floor of the house has been nicely updated. We all agreed that we have never been to such a well stocked home. All home necessities, from aluminum foil to dish soap to trash bags to toilet paper and paper towels were present. We enjoyed the firepit each evening and watching the hummingbirds during the days. We really don't have any complaints, and would certainly return in the future.

Pure serenity

Pictures of this property do not do it justice, it's beautiful and very peaceful! The house is well appointed and extremely clean. The house sits up on a little bit of a hill, so the view is wide, even with a few trees obstructing. Water was very clear, and not too cold in June, the kids loved jumping off the dock. We used the row boat and kayak which was nice to have available. Only downside would be there is no available boat rental service to this pond, which can be seen as an upside, since it is quieter!

Fantastic Week!!!!

Ron and Regina are wonderful Hosts, always available for questions and very helpful in the planning process. The cabin is beautiful, our first visit. First but not last. My family and extended family all loved it and have requested us to rent again next summer. The house is clean and cozy. Everything you could possibly need is there. Plenty of dishes to entertain. Quiet and serene atmosphere and the water was warm!! Doesn't happen often in Maine! I would suggest going to the grocery store before you get there, because you won't want to leave !!!!

This place so perfect!

Wish we could keep it a secret because we would wish it to be available just for us we loved it so much! We were 2 sisters just looking for relaxation, time together, catching up our knitting stash, and seeing fall colors. We got it in spades. Cabin richly appointed, beautiful remodel, everything you’d ever want. Top bang for your buck. The views and situation on the lake are unbelievable. All the networks and electronic viewing including Netflix. Amazon, and premium channels. The fireplace was wonderful. The kitchen with everything you’d ever want or need. Privacy and quiet but easy access to town for needs. Our favorite cider place, literally down the street, Randall orchards. The best cider in the world. And our fav lobster rolls at the lobster place in Bridgeton. To die for! Beds comfortable. Stairs a bit steep and narrow to top floor with bedrooms, but doable for even us 60 type people. Only drawback is must go downstairs to living area for bathroom for midnight needs. 🤣. We are planning return visits with Hubbies and/or kids. Thank you Hershey’s for a beautiful home that you shared.

Lovely location, cabin more than house.

Hancock Pond is indeed beautiful...clear water, and a great dock for swimming off of...the water is deep enough to jump in. The woods were quiet with a floor of soft pine needles. No poison ivy! The host was helpful. When things were broken, they were promptly repaired. Toilet paper, soap and TP were supplied as were dish towels and wash cloths. The washer and dryer got lots of use. There were tables everywhere, two inside and two outside, which is good for a large group which is working on laptops, or playing cards, or eating or feeding a messy baby. Games were there and swimming vests for the kayak. There is a pet chipmunk who gave our grandchildren hours of fun. It was tame enough to eat out of their hand or off their lap. Bring peanuts to share! The fire pit was great, lovely view. My son said it was the prettiest location for a fire he had ever been in. We had roasted marshmallows for s'mores several nights. There are lots of things to do on short day trips, and the near by town of Bridgton offers restaurants and shopping. Denmark itself has basically one general store. Don't skip North Conway, NH, and visit Diana's Baths, their stores, and the lovely views. We also spent a day in Portland. We went to an ocean beach there at a state park....not free. There is a kayak offered with the property that got lots of use. The row boat wasn't stable enough to fish in if one likes to stand to cast. The men waded out several days, but not many fish were caught. They finally drove to another lake and went fishing, for $85 for 4 hours. Our biggest disappointment was realizing this was a cabin not really a house. For years we stayed at a cabin on a lake without electric or propane, using a wood stove to cook. So we don't need it fancy. But it would have been nice to know that it was dated, so our expectations would have been different. The cabin was built in the 60s and retains much of that style. We really missed AC on the hot days. The three bedrooms upstairs are fine, and one was plenty big for a couple with a pack and play. There is a problem with the fourth bedroom, as it was in the basement in a very small room without windows. The only advantage of that room was that it was by one of the two bathrooms. The upstairs bedrooms had steps down to the main floor bathroom. There is a 19 inch TV with three channels. I would recommend it, if you understand that it is like walking into someone's summer cabin.

Ron spent summers at this home while growing up. After attending college at the University of Colorado, Ron lived in Colorado for 23 years. Ron now lives in Pennsylvania with wife, Regina, who also owns and runs the property.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

The location of this property is perfect for many reasons. It faces south, so it is warmer when the weather is cool (northerly winds don't blow on us) and cooler when the weather is warm (southerly breezes blow up the lake at the house). It is also located within an hour drive of the Maine beaches and the big mountains in NH and western ME.

Hancock Pond is known for great fishing, clear water, and being the perfect size for all sorts of water activities including boating of all types - kayaking, canoeing, sailing, water skiing, tubing, jet skiing, etc. - snorkeling, swimming, and just about anything else you might like to do on the lake! Edgeset is situated on a point with water on 3 sides and a first-rate fire pit on the point. Because Edgeset is located on a double size lot, the property is rather private. A great way to escape or enjoy reconnecting with family and friends!
