I like the idea of VRBO because I feel that renting directly from an owner means they are personally involved in making sure my experience is great. When I was asking questions about this property, the answers were coming from the VRBO email with the owners name. As soon as I paid, it changed to a rental agency. Our stay started on a weekend, so we had to pick up our keys and welcome packet from the rental agency. They provided adequate instructions to do so by email, the pickup process was easy and they provided turn by turn directions to the cabin. The cabin is accessed by paved roads, and the driveway is paved, but relatively steep. The cabin is cute and pretty much looked like the pictures on the listing. Upon entering, we were immediately disappointed by the cleanliness. There was white dog hair, sticky spots and gummy bits in the kitchen. It very obviously had not been mopped since the last guests. Bathrooms and kitchen (other than the floor) seemed clean. The rest of the house was just generally dusty and cobwebby. When we pushed the love seat back to allow room to extend recliners, there was all kinds of debris, dirt and trash. I didnât feel comfortable walking barefoot anywhere in the house. The old TV sets you see in the photos are still there. I see they have now changed the listing since I suggested that on my checkout review, but the listing did say â4 new TVsâ. This was very important to us. We enjoy relaxing with a movie at night after being out all day. The tv in the living room has wavy lines running the entire length on the top. If you want to use Blu-ray or surround sound, you have to figure out how to hook it up. Thereâs a pretty comfortable recliner, a love seat with two seats that recline but are difficult to put back down because the cushion gets caught, and a rustic type cushioned chair that was not comfortable to us. So, the living room sits 3-4 people. The kitchen was decently appointed and included some spices, salt and pepper, coffee filters, which I always appreciate. Linens are provided, including kitchen towels and dish cloths. They provided 2 coffee pods and 2 dishwasher soap packs. The master bath shower was great! Great pressure, lots of hot water, massaging handheld shower head, probably my favorite part of the house. Thereâs a small gas grill and a fire pit No chairs for it though! View on photos looks about 10 years old too. Trees have grown a lot and thereâs a sliver of a Mountain View above.
