Hello Annie,
Amboise and the Loire Valley were wonderful. Staying in your great cottage made it all very close. We enjoyed the care you took in making the cottage comfortable and convenient. The open area on the main floor was very relaxing and the kitchen was wonderful. We felt at ease in the beautiful and friendly neighborhood. Restaurants were close by, and the view from the patio was magnificent. Thank you so much.
Perfect rental in the Loire. Great location and well furnished with everything you might need. The owners spoke limited English but were so friendly we got on fine with our few words of French. The kitchen has everything you might need and we had a lovely time cooking to have dinner on the outdoor rooftop deck with a view. Warm and cozy living room and fast wifi too.
The property was great totally unique in the heart of everything completely redone appliances etc.
The property was great totally unique in the heart of everything completely redone appliances The owners and Marie and Jeanne Noel were very accommodating had a bottle of champagne waiting for us upon our arrival and stop to visit to make sure that everything was just perfect the two of them are just perfect and would recommend this place to anyone who wants the Amboiseâs experience
We loved this comfy and well supplied 2 story house! The furnishings were especially nice to come home to and relax either on the large couch in the living room or on the patio overlooking the village, Chateau Amboise and Clos Luce. The kitchen was well supplied and had a dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine as well as a few food staples. An easy stroll down the street brings you to the shops, restaurants and the Loire. From the warm welcome of the owners, Annie Mary and Jean Noel, to the lovely flowers on the beautiful dining table we couldnât have been more satisfied with our week in Amboise.
Lovely gite: full of character and beautifully situated.
Super! We had everything we needed and stayed cool, downstairs in particular, in the very hot weather. The terrace was lovely for morning coffee especially as the view was stunning. Our hosts were most helpful, especially in their recommendations.
My wife and I just left this beautiful property overlooking Clos Luce. It was one of the few properties that have a balcony, which was great to have a glass of wine and enjoy the view of ChĂąteau Amboise and Clos Luce. Cute town with shops and restaurants a short walk from the property. The owners were accessible and left a bottle of sparkling brut from the area! Loved it!
This apartment is called the Balcony of Leonard for a very good reason. The well situated terrace overlooks the last residence of Leonardo DaVinci. We parked our car by this terrace every day. We then entered a lovely upstairs space that included a bedroom, bath and living area with couch. A set of stairs led down to a spacious area that included a well equipped kitchen and living area with couch, large table and fireplace. We considered both the exterior terrace, with a spectacular view of Amboise, and the interior space to be excellent. It was also very convenient to the town. In the morning, we would walk to the bakery for coffee and croissants (among other treats) and in the evening we would stroll to one of the restaurants in the town. Overall a very nice experience.
We stayed here with our 2 daughters, 5 and 7, and we loved it so much. The location couldn't be better - it is across the street from Le Clos Luce and just a couple blocks down the main road into town for restaurants, shops and the Chateau. We felt completely at home, beds were very comfortable, kitchen was well stocked, and we loved sitting up on the balcony at sunset watching the hot air balloons over Amboise at sunset. Jean and Annie were wonderful hosts and even left us a bottle of Champagne for our arrival which was welcomed after a long day of travel! We highly recommend this as a perfect home base for exploring Amboise and the Loire valley.
An excellent location to enjoy Amboise and the Loire.
We located"Balcon Leonard" very easily and found a most convenient park for our camper-van in Impasse Moulin. Anne-Marie and Jean Paul were there to welcome us and show us around.
The accommodation is lovely, well equipped and very comfortable. By using the entrance via the balcony we had complete privacy. The layout was perfect for us, the steep open stairs down to the living area causing no problem. People with mobility issues or with young children may find this quite difficult.
The location of the Gite gives easy access to the town's pedestrian area, cafes and shops.
The large Sunday market along the river is a great place to find local delicacies. The two main attractions of the Chateau and The Clos are virtually on the door step.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, particularly the balcony that gave wonderful views over the surrounding area and a great place for meals, drinks and enjoying the sun going down with hot-air balloons floating overhead.
We stayed at Balcon de Leonard for 8 enjoyable nights. The house is comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. Everything worked well except the washing machine -- we found a laverie next to the L. Leclerc nearby. The house is well located to visit the areaâs chateaus and witness the change from medieval (Donjon de Montbazon) to the Renaissance (Chambord). There is parking in front of the house that will test your skill in driving in reverse. Annie Mary and Jean Noel were gracious hosts.
This home had a fantastic location just steps from Clos Luce (da Vinci's last residence) and a few blocks from the heart of Amboise. It was an easy walk to Amboise Chateau and many restaurants and shopping. There was also a lovely market on Sunday morning down by the river. I would definitely stay here again if I was in Amboise.
It was a little tricky to navigate the streets first time we arrived, there is actually parking on the dead end street behind the house.
Annie and Jean Noel's villa is a little piece of heaven right next to Le Clos du Luce! Walking distance to the heart of Amboise. Easy navigation to the best chateaux! They provided us with a wealth of information about the area and the villa was equipped with all imaginable essentials!
The property is a cute house, very close (a short walk) to all historic locations in Amboise. In fact, the next house over was the Clos Luce, Leonardo's residence. The owners were super hospitable and generous, as we had a later than expected arrival.
We were 2 adults and 3 kids, and it was the perfect size for us.
If we came to Amboise again, the only thing I would change is...I would stay here a bit longer. Amboise is a great town, and this rental was superb!
Poorly kept, dripping water from ceiling, owner unavailable
The villa is much smaller than what the pictures lead you to believe. There was water dripping through the ceiling on to the base of the stairway from the bathroom, creating a hazard. We let the owner know and she said she was out of town and could do nothing with it so we had to have a pan catching water for our stay. The amenities were few and the furnishings were quite worn and uncomfortable. The directions to the villa were horrible. We were given no address even after asking for it, and had to stop at the local tourist information center to obtain directions. I do love Amboise as a starting point to explore the Loire Valley, however, and the location of the villa is good.
Quaint self contained, well presented accom with great location, easy walking distance into Amboise
The place was great and the owners really friendly and helpful. We had a great time and would recommend it to anyone. Well located for visits by car to any of the chateaus plus easy walking distance into Amboise town centre. Apartment was well furnished, clean and nicely laid out.
What a wonderful base for the Loire Valley and a perfect place to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the Bastille day fireworks from our terrace.
The kitchen was the best we encountered in our time in France. The washing machine was very welcome. Parking was not at all difficult. Wonderful view of Amboise castle and Leonardo da Vinci's last home. We loved the parade celebrating Leonardo's arrival in Amboise that went past on July 15. Loved your place
